  • SPDIF out on Compaq CQ40-122AX

I have a Compaq CQ40-122AX, running VISTA home basic sp1.

There IDT High Definition Audio built in and a HDMI output. He also says that it will be an available SPDIF output using a HP/Dock. Now, I'd like to use the SPDIF output, but I am reluctant to by the docking station for £200 as advertised on amazon. In the options for the Soundsetup there is a definition available also SPDIF.

IDT HD Audio Codec driver version: 1.0.5934.0

For IDT HD Audio DEVICE driver version: 6.0.6000.16386

    Only the input/output Audio/video are:

    VGA

    HDMI

    Headphone 3.5 mm

    Microphone 3.5 mm

I had a browse autour and found that some HP models spdif output available via the Jack 3.5 mm as optics, when the adapter is plugged it activates an LED inside and that it moves the optical signal to the Toslink cable.

Adapter cable and optical at Maplin

My question is, the SPDIF is accessible on my model of laptop CQ40-122AX with this configuration without the HP docking station or could there be another way? Since there is not in there, it must be possible to access it somehow, and the docking station just seems too expensive to make sense.

    Look forward to hearing responses.

No solution is presented using computers laptops, built in the ability to use SPDIF for DD and DTS streams. The only solution that I found satisfactory is the external soundcards next via a USB port.

I use the product bought in Hong Kong, works well with XP and Vista, that's what I tried ebay. The least expensive solution to the s/PDIF output, I found. It is an optical output.

I suggest you to check if the steps help.

In Windows 7, click on the F11 key at the top of your keyboard. This will make Windows return a mode full-screen.

To cancel the mode full-screen and window restoration to normal display, press the Esc (Escape) key at the top of your keyboard.

Check your graphics card catalyst Center and change the settings from there.

Hai. My compaq cq40 is 2 years old. Now, after I connect my mobile samsung usb mode s2. My laptop freezes. I force shutdowned. Now its not not opening. NUM and caps lock led blinking forever. I tried the battery cmos ram of permutation of compensation. Removed wifi card. Nothing helped me. Plsss help me. Also tell me if there is problem in motherboardm how much does cost inr.

If the blink code blink, pause, blink, pause, which indicates that the processor has failed the POST test.

I'm afraid that this will require the processor needs to be replaced to correct the problem.  I'm sorry.

You can try to contact HP to get a quote for how much it would cost to repair and compare that to the cost of having a local PC shop to be repaired.

  • Annoying green line glisten under Compaq Cq40 LCD screen

I don't know if it's because of the new BIOS I installed that caused it that I improved F.24 F.30 version and after that all of a sudden there's this green line boring glisten under my LCD... and my temp CPU reaches now to + 60 degrees Celsius, while before upgrading my CPU temp only amounts to 32 degrees Celsius.

I already flashed the BIOS F.30 and now he's back to F.24 the temp went down, but the green line which sparkle under my LCD screen is still there... I checked the new updates to the graphics card but it says that it is up-to-date. so theBIOS has nothing to do with the flickering line after all I thought that it was caused by the high temperature. Haven't bought my laptop in Singapore in February this year no problem until this one

BTW, my laptop is a Compaq CQ40 319TU with Vista Home Premium OS license.

    Hello

You should have no problem running on this laptop W7. Basically, if it can run windows Vista, it can run W7.

  • My E drive stopped reading CD/DVD. I have a desktop compaq with Vista Home Premium w / all service packs downloaded. My E drive doesn't recognize any disc in the drive.

How can I get my E drive working again?  I inadvertently stopped a backup file and ejected from the disc without it completed stopped.  Now, he does not recognize the disc.  Please help me.  Computer: Compaq (Desktop), Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Packs 1 and 2.

    Hello

Check with the support of Compaq, their online documentation and drivers and their forums for
    known issues.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

Use DevManView to locate the CD/DVD in the registry (be careful and do a prior Restore Point)
nothing change) - find the DevManView device and then make a right click on it free in RegEdit.

DevManView - free - an alternative to the standard Windows Device Manager, which displays all the
devices and their properties in flat table, instead of the tree viewer

  • I have a hp compaq dc5800, that is used. The pc does not recognize the network interface card.

I reinstalled win xp pro. When finished and restared the nic card was recognized that even if the lights are on when I joined cable ethernet an atheist. I installed the drivers but nothing has worked. Why this is happening and what can do? Thanks in advance.

    You are the very welcome.

You have the small factor form (SFF) or convertible minitower (CMT)?

Electrical supplies and the form factor of the audio and video cards must be flat with low profile brackets if you have a LTS. Power supply power is also less than a SFF in a CMT.

I have a dc7800 CMT. I installed a very nice video fanless AMD Radeon 6570 1 GB card in mine and I love it.

I have installed a sound card, but I guess you could do it.

I don't know how that everything affects the audio settings in the BIOS.

Most video cards are the HDMI audio chips on board, and those disable the integrated audio system. He must therefore go back into the BIOS and enable the onboard audio setting.

It's so everyone guess what happens when you add a new sound card. It neutralizes the again integrated audio system (which would be nice in this case), it neutralizes the HDMI audio (not a problem if you never Hang PC via an HDMI cable)?

In any case, if you want a sound card, you can get a card PCI or PCIe one that there is a PCIe location in the dc7800.

If you have a Mini PC, I would not recommend add both a video card and audio, because that can overload the 240W P/S.

  • I have a laptop Compaq CQ62 visitors who present a problem of power...

I bought two taken DC-in harness and tried both. No of them light up (the plug with the led on this issue), or make one of them turn on the laptop the battery. I also tried another adapter HP power as a generic, nor of what works with any of the 3 DC-in Sockets I have identical.

Is the light on the Jack supposed to light up under same voltage if not dragged into the motherboard? (still, I looked for when both connected and disconnected). Is there another type of problem that caused the same issue?

My client is the chomping little to have his machine backwards. Unfortunately, he discovered this problem just three days after the expiration of the warranty.

Well, no one ever gives the congratulations for the bad news, but obviously you have a very bad motherboard here. You've done everything you can with replacement power. Yes, if the motherboard is good, you should get the blue light when you plug the adapter into an outlet that is correctly connected to the card. If you do not, there is a power outage on the set.  I'm sorry.
