I have a HP Pavilion XM557AV desktop computer. I need to move from a Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate

I have a HP Pavilion XM557AV desktop computer. I need to move from a Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate, in order to encrypt my dirves using a system of encryption bit locker, built in the end of windows.  Are there problems that I need to know?  My HP bios to the original address software has been created to SATA, and it me prevented to use Sophos or control point software of encryption.  I have changed since my bios setting.  Will be little work locker?

Kpoona, welcome to the forum.

I believe that you will receive more specific information if you contact Microsoft Customer Service.  I think it should work, but can't be absolutely certain.

When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.

If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:

Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise

Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11, Acer can be Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    Hello:

You're right about the Cedar Mill running cooler than the Prescott.

But I don't think that level 650/651, there will be much if any difference in the production of heat.

When you get to the 660 vs the 661, it's where you'll really see the difference.

I would like to make the change for the following reasons: 400 MHz faster, faster FSB (800 MHz) and double cache L2.

For any reason, you can then run a 64 bit desktop OS. Your 3.06 is capable of 64-bit No.

I enclose a link so that you can compare your current processor, the 650 and the 651 side by side.

Also your graphics acceleration is disabled. Play one of the Microsoft games group and you will get an error, you need to close before you can play.

I hope that you can install this driver, so you can change your screen resolution regardless of your monitor/video card used to be able to manage and activate the graphic acceleration again.

This is the first you can try:

  • Upgrade graphics card for HP Pavilion A6720Y desktop computer

I have the HP Pavilion A670Y desktop computer and was thinking of upgrading the graphics card GeForce 9100 integrated to a Radeon HD5850 and adding a new power which would allow this change. Power side is there a reason that my office would not be able to support the Radeon HD5850?

It's your motherboard.  Make sure that the slot next to the PCI-E x 16 card is open as 5850 is a wide double card.  Your PC has only a 300 watt PSU so 5850 is only in need of a much larger power supply.  Look at the 12 + rating required by the 5850 and then choose the new modular power supply.  Buy not only on power alone.

Your PC has a practice of small Tower and the 5850 will consume more power (wattage) compared to your existing integrated video processor which means more heat. Be prepared to deal with this issue.  The 5850 is perhaps too card for your PC.

Don't forget that your PC system BIOS is up to date.

Open your Pc and clean all the dust. Then a measure of your current diet and buy one that is modular with almost the same dimensions.  Then measure around the PCI-E x 16 slot to make sure that the card fits.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

I tried to change the language of the Russian English ro system. I have the Ultimate edition DVD, but its DVD upgrade. Is there a way to extract the language pack from the DVD? or what other choice do I have?

That being said, here are my suggestions.

You need an internal Sata DVD + RW (there be DL mode) and the necessary cabling. Power supply not having a spare power cord Sata, but it wil have the molex 4 pin. You also need a Sata data cable.

  • How to restore the system recovery files to their original location? (HP Pavilion p6540F desktop computer)

I have a desktop HP Pavilion P6540F under Windows 7 Home Premium. A few days ago there was a problem with windows that virtually wiped out my OS and I had to restore my computer to factory settings. Before restoring my computer I backed up all my files on a disk. After Reinstalling windows, I placed the drive with all my files recovery on it in my computer and running the recovery .exe file that has started downloading my files. All of this worked perfectly well but the problem is that these files only stored in a file on my desktop and has not been restored to its original location. Is it possible to get these files to restore to the correct locations on my computer without having to manually, drag the files to their old location? Honestly, I don't know where many of these files were located before the restoration and many items such as preferences for certain programs are impossible for me to move. Thanks for the help.

The backup that is used to recover only restores the files in a folder, leaving the owner to move. I agree, not the application of backup more useful, but better than nothing I guess.
