I have a mac os 10.6, hp photosmart c4795 and error message says offline.

I did get a new Netgear router and feel like it with the printer went haywire since that time. When I open the info from device printer, everything that says 'unknown' and the connected wireless printer has a status of research.  I renewed my lease DHCP status under apple > system prefs > network > advanced > TCIP, it did not work. I deleted the printer and has attempted to add once again but ended up renaming and this printer icon is different.  After adding it and a manual ip address are now under network search it permanently as the intellectual property and prints never... Help, please. I feel like I just need to somehow remove all printers and start all over again.

Thank you very much!
Kasia

Well Yes, restart more is a good idea.

First of all, on the front panel of the printer, go to Settings [Scan] > WIreless > default settings.

Then, on your Mac, reset the printing system:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!

If you have the right software for 10.6 (not on the CD, by the way), open Applications > HP > C4700 series > printer setup and software.  Run it.
