  It seems you want to use iCloud photo library as an archive of photos. It was not intended for this use.

  Unfortunately you are not alone. HP has sold a lot of different models with the M2N78 - motherboard. The problem is that the manufacturer of the Board of Directors (not HP) set up a controller chip NVidia which tended to overheat. Once this chip goes, ur stuck.   I can't imagine why you would want to do and I have no intention of frelling with any of my Windows machines to try it for you. If you feel better close your port 455, simply use the Windows Firewall to do. You must take the advice of Steve Gibson with a grain of salt. If your computer is clean, you have a good antivirus installed, you are using a firewall, are behind a router and practice "Safe Hex" then find something else to worry about. But that's just my opinion.

The cloud thing seems too advanced for me, and I'm on a retirement income now.

  Acrobat 9.x is not compatible with Windows 8.1. In this operating system, you need Acrobat XI or DC. What Adobe sells today is DC.

  Same thing with Photoshop. My 2cents - go with the flow of Photoshop Elements.

  For your Canon Pixma 5300 Cannon site. What you want are the latest and greatest device software that are good go to the point Windows 8.1.

  Ctdmsims Hello, here is a link for your system specs. The specifications show that the system supports 4 X 4 GB memory modules. However, these 4 GB modules should most likely be installed at the same time and not mixed with other memories.

  HP systems generally wanted to work, or work well if, with the mixed memory modules.

  I searched for some 4 GB modules that are compatible with your system, I was unable to locate anything.

  If you managed to locate a module of 4 GB, it would almost certainly not compatible with existing memory in your system.

  Just some thoughts.
