  • Problem syncing between iPhone 5 (iOS 9.2.1) and iMac (OS 10.11.3)

I have a problem syncing between iPhone 5 (iOS 9.2.1) and iMac (OS 10.11.3). Purchased or updated on the iPhone apps are not copied on the iMac, during synchronization.

    Howdy Paul Peeters,

I understand that you purchase apps on your iPhone and you want to synchronize on your iMac.  For these applications automatically added to your iMac, you may want to activate the automatic downloads on the Mac.

This article explains what you see.

If your applications are not transferred from iTunes to your device after the update to iOS 9 - Apple Support

iOS 9 includes a new feature that allows you to download only the parts of a necessary application for your device. This saves the storage space on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch when you install an application that supports this feature. Update to iOS 9, iTunes is not used to restore your applications when you restore your device. Instead of this, optimized versions of your apps download from the App Store directly on your device.

If you can see the apps on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, and they seem to be waiting to download, make sure that you are connected to WiFi or Internet. Once you are connected, the optimized versions of your apps download automatically to your device.

Similarly, applications that you add to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won't sync or transfer to iTunes on your computer. If you want to download apps from iTunes, turn on automatic downloads in iTunes preferences. You can also download previously purchased apps to iTunes.

    Best regards

There is NO selection update software on my phone! How are Iphone 3 # IOS updated?

It may not be this difficult OR the answer is "It cannot be upgraded" - which is?

The model number you have listed is an iPhone 4, which can be upgraded to iOS 7.1.2. To have the option to update software on the phone, you need at least iOS 5, otherwise you will need to use iTunes on your computer sync to perform the upgrade.

  • iPhone does not backup on iCloud despite the library on

My iPhone is not backup, despite the option is on. He used to work very well with my iPhone 6 and Macboo pro. Now when I get the pictures on my laptop I don't see the new photos.

Please check that your device is correctly connected to the wireless internet (settings > wifi) and is plugged into a power source, check also that you have enough space in iCloud for your back upward.

You can check the space available in settings > iCloud > storage and the space needed for the next backup to the settings > iCloud > storage > Storage manage > backups > appliance > Back Up Options > next backup size (wait for the spinning until the gear icon).

Assuming that you are eligible for iCloud upward, you should try a forced first stop, hold down the buttons side in top and home together until the unit stops, then restart by pressing the side/up button.

Then, try to connect the device to a new location (different WiFi network)

If your backup continues to fail, you can try to disable the backup on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > backup), reboot the device and then turn on BackUp on new.

If this help not disable backup again, remove your existing back to the top of settings > iCloud > storage > Storage manage > backup > this device (scroll down) > delete backup, restart the device and then turn on BackUp.

If you are unable to make a return to the top, try to connect on iCloud (settings > iCloud (scroll down) > Sign Out (you will need to enter your password at this point), restart the device and sign in iCloud to settings > iCloud.)

The next thing to try would be to restore your network settings. (Settings > general > reset > reset network settings)

Reset your network settings will erase your cell phones and wireless network settings, including saved networks, passwords for wifi and VPN settings, that you can use. It will affect to the Internet but will not be an impact on telephone services because these settings are automatically configured by your carrier. It may take a few moments to enter again all your network settings, but it shouldn't cause you any major problems. If you are comfortable re - enter your network settings, you can try this step earlier in the troubleshooting procedure, i.e. after the forced shutdown suggested above.

If this does not help, try to disable some elements for the back upward in a model to try to establish if your problem is caused by specific data on your device. You can do with settings > iCloud > storage > storage management > backup > appliance > Back Up Options.

If you are still not able to perform a backup from iCloud, you can try to restore your phone which you should do by making an iTunes backup via your computer and restore from that.

Be able to go back to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you have access to a computer or rarely have access to one, however unless you need specifically to use iCloud to go back, you'll find a backup on iTunes much more convenient and possibly more reliable. However if you save up to iTunes be sure to encrypt the back upward if you want to keep your data on health and passwords etc.

  • I updated my iPhone 6 iOS 9.3.2 and I will have many questions.

May 19, 2016, I've updated my iPhone iOS to iOS 9.3.2 9.3.1 6. Initially he "BRICKS" on me. It would not be completed the update. Then he went into a continuous cycle of trying to update. And then he "restored" factory default with the downloaded 9.3.2 iOS. Then tried to sync and some of the apps wouldn't sync. Some of the apps that sync wouldn't work. E-mail would not work because it says that the password is not valid. Same thing with some of the applications that require a password. It was a number after another. How can I fix or there at - it a solution for this?

    Try recovery Mode

Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.

When your device is connected, force restart it: press and hold the sleep/wake and home for at least 10 seconds, and only release when you see the Apple logo.

Keep now until see you the recovery mode screen and wait that he eat.

Restore first as New and test to make sure it works well. Then restore backup if you wish.

  • Updated my iPhone 5 ios 9.3.3 and problems with messaging

Many of my applications were unusable, unless I upgraded (it has been a long time) but when I did all my old messages disappeared. And if that wasn't bad enough when I now get a message there is no notification. AND the content of incoming or outgoing messages will disappear in 1-2 hours. Just left with the name or phone number. I thought I the phone turned off and save but which only made it worse. Even the name / # disappeared. I am a foreigner and I am relying on texting but looks like I made a big mistake. These problems appear in beta? Googling - it's a known issue. Makes me want to never be updated again! Help!  I'm still traumatized from upgrading my MacBook Pro and lose iPhoto. Not impressed by the sign (less) Photo.

... unless I upgraded (it has been a long time)

If you updated / upgrade every time new Apple software have been revised, you would probably avoid many of your questions.  You would replace it with several small updates / upgrade for a huge.

So that's my advice for the future.  One thing you can also do right now is to check the settings > general > storage & use iCloud > manage storage (under storage) and make sure that you have absolutely no less than 10% of the total free storage of your device.

  • Why is my iPhone 5 number listed as 'unknown' and not listed in iMessage and FaceTime?

I am a customer of StraightTalk. Originally, I had an iPhone CDMA 5 purchased directly from this company. After three years, the battery swelled and I came out of the Apple Store on Thursday with a replacement. After inserting a SIM to speak directly into the device and setting up, I can make calls, send text messages, use the cell data, etc.

However, my phone number in the settings is listed as 'unknown', and it is not listed at the top of the contacts screen. I can't send messages in my phone number iMessage, because it is not even listed as an option. Ditto for FaceTime. After several hours on the phone with Straight Talk, they determined that my phone service is configured properly, and it is a phone number.

Does anyone have a solution for this? It is incredibly frustrating that the iPhone 5 does every thing I need to do, and I prefer to keep my phone from replacement $ 75 for three years before moving on to an iPhone SE.

    Hello, smirza!

Thank you for using communities of support from Apple!  What I understand in your post, you got a replacement iPhone 5 and have found that your phone number is not listed in settings > phone and iMessages/FaceTime.  Your number should certainly be in all those places, so I'm happy that you came here, then we can help you understand what is happening together.  Check with your mobile provider was a big first step.  I have other ideas for you as well:

    1. It seems that you already have the latest version of iOS (9.3.4), but we will also check your carrier settings are up to date: iOS: update your carrier settings
    2. If you haven't already done so, save your iPhone on iCloud or iTunes: How to backup your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
    3. On your iPhone, go to settings > Contacts > My Info and make sure that your personal contact (with your iPhone phone number) card is selected.
    4. Go to settings > phone > my number and see if you are able to manually, enter your number and save it.
    5. If none of these steps work, try to restore your phone from the backup that you made: restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup
    6. If you still don't see your issue, try restoring your phone as a new and see if your number is: use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings
