I have an unknown device on my old Satellite 2450-201

In devicemanager on my windows XP system, it says "unknown device" in the information that I can get the device ID is ACPI\SMCF030\4 & 2A 083901 & 0
and its place is on Intel (r) 82801DB LPC Interface Controller - 24C0

Anyone know what it is?
It's annoying not knowing and this looks like something important.
I installed everything under drivers for my device.
But, the only thing that I know works is not on my computer is the frontbuttons (Mode, jump, play/pause and stop)

Perhaps this paper can help you

Hi, hard drive is dead on Dell dimension 2400, re-installed with existing win XP (SP3).  Another computer used to go to Dell support and download line that few drivers I could find for the serial number.  (Broadcom Integrated NIC, graphics controller, Modem) Drivers installed and I still have an unknown device (point yellow question mark for unknown sandwiched between the network adapters and Ports).  Wired Ethernet worked before hard drive failure - properties for Broadcom 440 x say ' device working properly ", but it will not pick up a DHCP IP.  Set the IP to the network router and can now same URL and local peripheral ping like www.google.com , but cannot get to internet with IE explore manually.

  • WXP on Satellite A200 - 1 M 7 - now I have 4 unknown devices

    Hello!

    I had problems installing Windows XP SP2 home edition on my Satellite A200 - 1 M 7.
Vista comes with this laptop, but I decided to go back to the roots.
Downloaded all the drivers available for this model and install.

Now, I have 4 unknown devices in the hardware monitor.
I guess I know what it is because I still don't see things working:
    1. audio card: update done BIOS, installed kb888111 and kb835221 and sound driver. No change.
2 Bluetooth monitor: installed the driver but also no change.
    3. WiFi: the same thing, I can see the window manager of Atheros Wi - Fi, but it does not work (I am sure about that because I have another laptop nearby, and he sees my Wi - Fi router).

Does anyone have these problems and how to solve it?

    Very simple procedure ;)

The Satellite A200 - 1 M 7 seems to belong to the series PSAE3E and you should switch in this series to download all the drivers from Toshiba.

Before you install the try XP updated the BIOS to the XP version (at this time v.5.30 - victory)
Then check install Instructions txt file and install all THE drivers Toshiba and tool using the order mentioned in the present document.

Please note that Windows XP should be updated to the State and several important fixes must be installed directly on the Microsoft site.
So I would recommend checking the MS Update site and install every difficulty.

    By the way;
Bluetooth monitor is not the installation of the driver the driver Portal Toshiba BT BT:

  • Unknown device ACPI\TOS1900 on Satellite A105-S2091

    Hello

I just finished a * CLEAN * Vista install on my Satellite A105-S2091.
    Installation was smooth and clean.

After installation of all recommendations * DRIVERS * (I chose not to install * ANY * Toshiba utility).
I was left with two unknown devices in Device Manager.

    One was ACPI\TOS1901.
After searching the forums, I found a thread that indicated that the installation of the supervisor of the Toshiba password utility, would be fixed
    This device, which it did.

I stayed with unknown device ACPI\TOS1900. A search here havenot been useful forums.
I have + really + do not want to install the Toshiba utilities that are not absolutely necessary.

Anyone know what drivers need to be installed to fix the unknown device, ACPI\TOS1900?

    Thank you!

    Rick

I think that you need the driver for Toshiba HDD Protection
Maybe it helps to get rid on unknown device.

  • Unknown device (TOS1900) on the Satellite A200

    Hi, I use Satellite A200 PSAE6E
    I installed vista 64-bit.
When I look in Device Manager and select the option 'show hidden devices '. I see an unknown device.
I tried to get with it, but I couldn't find anything, you know what?

    ACPI\TOS1900
    * TOS1900

    Hi friend

theres another post with the same question:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=31190

the discussion is about this device. I guess this could really be something like the HARD drive acceleration sensor (the sensor that parks the disk heads HARD when the machine is moved faster then usual).

Maybe then it's a device that can be left since you won´t get the drivers for it. Another good option would be to google for this error...

  • Device audio problem / its satellite 2450-101

My sound has kept silent for while now. I didn't know about the volume control sneaky hidden on the side of my laptop, so I've done all sorts...

Today, I was so desperate to hear certain sounds (a little knowledge is a dangerous thing) that I played a little... It seems to me have uninstalled audio device - in the Control Panel, windows tells me I have no audio device.

Obviously, it was a stupid thing to do - how can I remedy this? Download anything from microsoft? Or is it a problem of Toshiba? My manual is no help.

    Thanks in advance

    Charlotte

    Hi Charlotte,.

You should be able to re - install the audio device from the utilities Toshiba (NOT recovery CD) CD that you received with your laptop.

Help, please. I understand that I am owner of an old computer, but I'm really confused re wireless. Please could someone tell me what I need to buy to enable me to make my computer wireless.

[Edited by: admin on 18 February 06 08:25]

    Hello

First of all, you need a wireless router to use wireless LAN.
I put t know what internet equipment you use but I have connected my router wireless modem broadband.
Detailed instructions should be supplied with the router.
Well, you also need the minPCI wireless card or a USB wireless or a PCMCIA wireless card to connect to the wireless router.

  • Portege R600 - after installing XP 2 unknown devices

I just finished installing Windows XP and everything seems perfect, except that I have 2 unknown devices and I don't know what they are.
Also I can't find the driver for the fingerprint module.
The application is present, but there is no driver, and it is not recognized.

    Can anyone help

    Hi ymkx,

All the drivers and tools that you need can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Also this nice article should help you identify the devices:

Additionally, make sure that Service Pack 3 is installed before starting with the installation of the driver.

  • Satellite Pro U300 - 2 unknown devices in XP Device Manager

Just installed XP on a U300, I downloaded all the drivers from the Web site.
Now I have 2 unknown devices! Any ideas of what it could be?

    Thank you.

One could be the unknown PCI memory manager.
This PCI memory controller is Intel Turbo Memory, also called logic chip cache Flash Intel.
It is a new technology designed to support the new features of Vista.
There is no driver for Windows XP because XP doesn t supports the cache feature. Vista only supports this!

I don't know what could be the other unknown device. Check just what features don't run and you'll know what it is!

  • Unknown device on Satego P100-10U

First of all, sorry for my very bad English :-(

I install XP and now the system to say that I have an unknown device and a PCI device without driver. I think one of them is the sound card, but I can't install the rather. "Device not found" is the message. And I can not find drivers for it. If anyone knows what I can do, please help me... :-)

    Hello

For me it s a clear case Oliver. The device could not be found error message appears because you have tired to install a bad driver.

Satego P100-10F seems to belong to the PSPAME series.

Therefore, you need to download the drivers for the laptop PSPAME! Be sure that you have chosen the right set to 100%!

PS; I recommend you download the drivers from Toshiba European page because AFAIK the Satego has been designed for the European market.

    Best regards

  • Unknown device - ACPI\HPQ0006\2 & DABA3FF & 0 on Compaq 8510p

Because of a rootkit I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro on a laptop HP Compaq 8510 and now I have an unknown device in Device Manager.
It's a device instance ID and it is ACPI\HPQ0006\2 & DABA3FF & 0. (it is certainly NOT the TPM :-)
The driver may not even be located on the driver and application recovery DVD.
Download driver to resolve this issue, do you have ideas? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Download and install the driver for buttons to quick launch on the link below.

Once the installation is complete, restart the computer and check if this solves the problem.

  • Satellite C70D-B-306 - 2 unknown devices in the list of devices

    Hello

I have a PC laptop toshiba C70D-B-306 (psclee) and I reinstalled windows 8.1 since a DVD separate because I change the hard drive by default for a fast ssd drive.

Everything works, but in my device manager, I have 2 unknown devices listed (with exclamation point), as far as I know I downloaded all the drivers available from the support Web site of toshiba for this laptop and install, but the 2 unknown devices will simply not disappear.

Can someone tell me which driver I need exactly for these 2 devices?

    2 devices are:
    ACPI\ASD0001\2 & DABA3FF & 1
    and
    ACPI\SMB0001\4 & FE73487 & 0

As mentioned, I already downloaded all the drivers for this laptop and install, windows is of course to date. Also, I let windows search for drivers on the Internet and on the disc, but no driver found where.

Who can give me the Golden tip?

There is a good method to find out what drivers are missing.
First of all, you should check the DEV (device) and FRI (supplier) codes

Here's a short instruction how to find this in detail:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD0302U00000R01.htm

Know the vendor and device ID, is not a big deal to get the correct drivers.

However, you must also install additional software of Toshiba (Toshiba System Driver) out to win 8.1
Please also note that there are two areas of pilot Win 8.1: 8.1 update Win and Win 8.1 32 bit / 64 bit categories
Where you would find not all pilots within the Win 8.1 update also check categories of 32-bit / 64-bit Win 8.1.

  • Satellite C850D-12U - Win8 64-bit with ACPI\VEN_TOS of unknown device

    Hello community,

I reinstalled my Satellite C850D - 12U PSCC2E and now I have an unknown device.
    Hardware ID: ACPI\VEN_TOS & DEV_6205

I did some general research on the internet and it seems that it is to do with Bluetooth.

I installed the driver on the Toshiba site, unfortunately the problem is not resolved.

Do you have some ideas what happened?

SRY for my bad English ;-)

    Greetings mounisport

According to specification for laptop, that your laptop comes with Win8 OS 64-bit so you have reinstalled original recovery image and use laptop with factory settings now?

Notebook with factory settings should not have these problems so I put t understand why you have this problem.

Can you please send more info on this unknown device?
