Hi Portia,
- How did the laptop connected to the internet?
- Have you updated the firmware on the router as a possible solution?
- What operating system is installed on your computer?
- Since when are you facing this problem?
You can try to update the network adapter drivers by visiting the manufacturer's Web site and check:
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

After upgrade, network display icon with a red X through it indicating "network cable is unplugged" - which is not. System Restore gave me back IE7, but without two of the toolbars (I've since found the fix for this - but too late). Tried a system restore and now completely lost internet connection - IE will not launch. Always get the message "network cable is unplugged". I have reset the modem, but nothing works... should I ask Microsoft, HP, or my service provider (Rogers)?
Thank you
Christine
Hello MsC_99
Check the modem on the back of the system where the cable ether net branch. Think you that shed light on this subject? If this is not the case then you may have a problem with the NIC or ether net cable may have problems. If you do this then try uninstalling and reinstaling the NIC in Device Manager. If you don't see the network adapter in Device Manager then try booing the system BIOS and make sure that he is seen here. Let me know what you find. Thank you. -

Hello:
If you post them details of the device string ID for each device in the Details tab in XP, I can send you the link for the drivers.
For now, I can send pilots based on the material in the manual, and if your PC has different hardware, so I could waste your time and mine.
Always install the first chipset driver:
This should be your integrated graphics driver:
Audio: Accept the agreement. Download and install the 3rd driver on the list.
Network: Download and install the 6th on the list.
If none of them do not work, please post the hardware ID so I can help you further.

After you have reinstalled CS6, get error 'Photoshop close unexpectedly.
Out of the blue, I tried to open a raw image of the bridge this morning and I received an error message that some components of the application were missing in Photoshop. A quick search on the internet told me that I had to reinstall CS6, so I did and went ahead and reinstalled the CS6 updates too. Now, when I try to open a raw image of the bridge file, I get a message different error that reads "Photoshop close unexpectedly. Click on reopen... "Note that I also get the error even if I try to open the CS6 without going through the bridge. I rebooted my machine and get the same error message. I am running OS X El Cap 10.11.4
The problem has been resolved by updating my OS to the latest version of OS X. Thanks for the answers. Moderators please close this thread.

Startup gets "Network cable unplugged" on (new) wireless mini-PCI card
Repost in the previous topic was locked, but has not been resolved. Original post below, please see previous post for more details
I recently installed a Netgear DG834GT wireless router and now have intermittent problems connecting my Tecra 9100. If the 9100 has been off for awhile (like overnight), when I restart I get always "Network cable unplugged" for the wireless connection. Reboot several times (anything from 3 upwards) I finally get connected to the router and everything then works fine for hours. Even a quick restart at this point (that is, once that the wireless adapter is connected) does not cause a problem, but as soon as I leave the stop of the machine during a time he fails again on restart.
There are no errors in the event log.
I am using wireless mini-PCI cards and have already updated to the latest version of the driver.
Any ideas gratefully received, for now every morning is a 20 to 30 minutes of rebooting frustration trying to get my connection work.

Hello
I have the same problem if I stand for laptop and access point at the same time. If the access point is already in use, the connection is established shortly after. First the access point must establish a connection to the modem. Now the wireless connection is not available.
I guess after the second reboot, the connection between the AP and the modem is already finished and you can use the network wireless successfully.
Good bye

Hello
As far as I know, the unplugged network cable message just for LAN (Local Area connection-LAN) and not wireless.
If you want to check this map to disable LAN in Device Manager. After starting the laptop turn on the wireless card, check the status using the FN + F8 key combination. Wi - Fi is activated after a short time, you should be able to use your wireless network.
You can enable the option Show icon in notification area when connected. You can find it in the properties of wireless under the general tab.

Had a big storm - got the new modem. but they said that my drivers where missing or damaged. Downloaded Marvell Yukon of gateway - to the GT5432 model. Always says cable unplugged network. However, Bishop says peripheral device works correctly. Don't save: no update-unable to connect to the internet. I uninstalled and reinstalled; rebboted, etc. - still nothing. It has a problem with the PCI connection - no driver, but I don't see anywhere to down load or know what to download. Oh and another adapter on - think 1394 - when I turn that on and off the wonder; It shows the signal for the 1394---400 and does not say his unplugged, but still can not connect to internet.
The "old" computer to try to find information; noticed that said, unplugged network cable but it allowed me to connect to the internet. When I disabled the 'extra' adapter message there went, speed signal only at 100 than at the 'old' calculation is not any other PCI devices connection listed.I'm not sure of what continues.
The 1st computer was working fine - then picked it up to move it to where it belonged to my office and that's when he went out-made no sense to me!
Because you seem comfortable opening your computer, have you tried re - a corner of the map (with power off, remove the card and reinsert it into the slot, be sure to exercise static precautions if you are in an environment of low-hu7midity). If there is an empty slot, you can also move the map Marvell to another location. See the comments below.
It's a long shot, because even if you did not provide the complete ipconfig output, the data that you have provided appeared to be normal, but...
Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
Right-click on the icon for your network adapter, and then select Properties
You should see a screen like this--> http://screenshots.modemhelp.net/screenshots/Windows_XP/Network_Connections/Local_Area_Connection/Properties/General/Index.shtml
Issues related to the:
In the upper area, under 'Connect using' said 'Marvell Yukon 88E8039 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller? If this is not the case, what does say?In the second box, what are the items are listed under "this connection uses the following items"?
The only other thing I can think is that the Marvell Ethernet card was damaged in the same storm that got your original modem/router.
*******************************************
According to Gateway, the GT5432 has 4 card slots:
A PCI Express x 16 (GUI)
A PCI Express x 1
Two PCI ConventionalYour motherboard should look like this:
Orange, top, connector is the PCI Express x 16. You probably have a video card in this slot.
The short white connector is the PCI Express x 1 connector.
Two more long white connectors are the standard PCI slots.
If I understand your installation, you should have the Marvell Yukon map into the slots of two down and your Agere modem on the other. As long as you have the SMC1244TX PCI card, why don't just remove you the Agere modem or the card Marvell and insert the card CMS in one of the two PCI slots? You are not using the modem and the working hypothesis is that the Marvell card does not work, so there is not much to gain by leaving a card in your computer.
Download the user guide and drivers for the SMC here--> http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?event=viewProduct&localeCode=EN_TUR&cid=9&scid=51&pid=238 map
Moreover, assuming that your open slot is the short PCI Express x 1 slot, you can buy another Ethernet card that will work in this niche: see--> http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100010064%20600016290&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=100
If I were you, I blow up the cheaper models and get the Intel EXPI9301CT $ 36 10 / 100 / 1000 Mbps PCI Express Desktop Adapter Gigabit CT. Note that this is the same card with a similar name (with close to 400 customers) which sells for $29,94. The price difference is because the cheaper "BLK" letters in the description, which means that it is "sold in bulk" and has no drivers, user guide CD or anything else in the box. There are several negative comments from people who do not understand this difference and then had trouble finding the driver for the card on the Internet.

I get a "Network error" Evertime I try to access a shared folder on another PC in my network. I get error code 0 x 80070005 access denied. When I click on diagnose, I get a message that says 'c' is available, but the user account you're connected with was access dinied. Also, I can't use Media player media sharing Windows. Read this info and see if it helps:

Have a read of the link above re Vista file and printer sharing.
Permissions/Share info is there as well.
If you use Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro or Kaspersky I.S., make that file and printer sharing is enabled in THE Firewall (or LAN enabled, depending on how their Exceptions are formulated in their firewall)
