I have changed my laptop HARD drive, I can re - install and reactivate windows 7 by COA on the bottom of my laptop

I want to change my primary portable hard drive HARD to the SDS drive, my question is can I download the corresponding edition of Windows 7 from MSDN and re - install in my new hard driver then reactivate the license key to use the COA on the bottom of my laptop? (I no longer use the OS to pre-install on my old HDD).

If I can do these things, another question, can I choose different language version? For example, my OS pre-installation is the English version of Windows 7 Pro, can I use this Chinese version of Simple Windows 7 Pro license key from COA asset?
Thank you very much!

    What is the maximum size of hard drive, which can be installed in a desktop pavilion d4790y?

    It would be a secondary drive, not the boot drive.

    The operating system is Vista Home Premium, 32-bit.  The version of the BIOS is 5.08.

    Are there any changes or upgrades that would allow an internal hard drive 3 TB to install?

    Here are the specifications and configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion d4790y and here are the specifications of its card mother P5BW - THE (Basswood2). Based on the specifications and the age of the computer, I would expect you to use a hard drive 3 TB as a secondary drive on Windows Vista (DISPLACEMENT SP1 or SP2) and Windows 7. Formatted as MBR would require the drive to use with a minimum of two partitions. Formatted as GPT would require only a single partition. In no case will you be able to use the 3 TB as a boot device drive because your computer does not support a UEFI BIOS that allows booting from a GPT formatted disk. No changes or updated should be held.

    Hello

    The motherboard has 2 SATA ports, I have no idea why HP installed a drive HARD IDE 80 GB port in the first place. If you plan to reuse the IDE port, you can get up to 137 GB only. You can install drive HARD 160 GB or more, but you need to divide first and then combine it later, it is a very long way.

    Why not install the controller SATA 1 TB and keep intact 80 GB. The machine has 2 HARD drives at the end.

    Kind regards.

    What disc you are trying to start exactly?
    Have you tested different discs?

    You should check the boot order in the BIOS. Configure the CD/DVD drive as first boot device and test it again!

  • Do I have to install 14 items on the C: drive or can be installed and work to a secondary drive?

    Hello

    On the C: drive of my 200 GB wife she Primer Adobe items 10, 11 and 13 more organizer of 13 elements and Photoshop 11.

    All its work files are drive F: (4000 GB)

    Despite the Adobe staging for drive F: for every new project it will still create very large files on the c: drive and it by filling up until there is no more space left on the drive C: and 13 elements crushes every time without being able to complete a project.

    My questions are the following:

    What you can do to spare disk space:

    1 - uninstall the older versions, you do not wish to keep. Before running the uninstall program from the Windows Task Manager, deactivate the license on the Help menu (you might want to reinstall on another computer, for some reason, later). If you use catalogues on standard location, use Catalog Manager to remove them, possibly after their conversion to the new format of catalog.

    2. you can move the catalogs on your F: drive. Find their location in the menu help/information system of the Organizer. Create a master folder on F: and move the folders from catalogues it with Explorer. They will find in the "custom" from the Catalog Manager location (navigate to their location once).

    3. in the preferences of the Publisher, do not include your C: drive in the list of the "" scratch disks".

    4. in the organizer's preferences, specify the default location to save your photos from your camera, even for the scanned images.

    5 - the use of a utility like CCleaner, you can remove unwanted temporary files and clean the registry. A good thing after the steps above.

    6. regardless of the elements, you can save space on C: for other programs; I think that Windows allows you to move the default folders of documents or images on another drive.

    I think that should be enough.

  • I have a Windows XP computer with 2 hard drives. Can I install Windows 7 in one of the hard drives?

    I want to upgrade my XP computer to Windows 7.  I have 2 drives, a master and a slave.  Given that I can only do a custom Setup, before I upgrade I want to backup my data on the slave drive and then do the custom Windows 7 install on the master.  I have this possible?  And, if possible, can I then copy the files to the slave to the master?

    Yes, you can.

    To ensure a security update, follow these steps:

    Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
    When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

    You will receive the following warning:

    The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

    (At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

    The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

    Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

    You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • HP ENVY laptop laptop 15-as032nr: buy 512 GB SSD laptop. You want to add additional 1 to hard drive. Can it be done?
    Hello
    I bought the HP ENVY 15-as032nr with only 512 GB SSD laptop. I want to add additional 1 to hard drive. Can it be done?
    Yes, you have the 512 m2 NVME PCI - e (lucky) drive gig and that goes into a slot and then there is also a slot open for a standard hard disk 2.5 thumbs or SATA SSD. See pages 30-33 of the manual here:
    Repair manuals
    It is likely that your laptop does not contain the HDD mounting kit and cable as shown on page 30 and 31 and this note is in the Manual:
    The disk spare parts kit hard does not include the rubber hard drive support or cable hard drive. The hard disk rubber support is available using the spare part number 857797-001. The hard drive cable is available by using the spare part number 857806-001
    An extra $ 66 for the housing and the cable seems a bit strong, but I couldn't find their sale anywhere other than HP Store.
    This isn't a simple upgrade; If you need assistance.
