I remove my Yahoo search engine, but it keeps adding back that "your default settings of the search engine have been restored. I don't want that. How can I stop it?

Hello, Tim.

You may have a problem with an extension or plugin that obstructs normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Maybe that's two questions. Both pooped upward with a recent update. I do not have yahoo extensions or add-ons installed.

    (a) I type a URL in the navigation bar (NOT the search box), and all of these 'useful' pop-up suggestions. Do stop.

    (b) I type wrong address in the navigation bar (NOT the search box) and I get a Yahoo to "links" page Do stop.

Thank you. I have the screenshots I can post too.

Found the solution. It's an add-on: uTorrentControl3 by conduit. I've disabled to check and uninstalled then when I saw it was the question.

  • Programs loaded in a working session are deleted or not open at startup windoows then. How can I stop this happening

First of all. a computer program entry that appears as an Internet Explore Managed Add-on, when the first installed is indicated as such but, after having stopped at the next startup shows that it removed from the list of managed add-ins, even if the program appears again in all programs.

Second, I use Norton Internet Security, and recently its icon has disappeared from the notification bar. Center of action reported to the program as always 'on '. But NIS would not start/desktop icon launch and I got the C:/Program Files(x86) /Norton InternetSecurity/Engine64/20.2.019/uistub.exe notice

    unspecified error

When Norton Autofix came he reported an error 8504. 104 and advised that I went on the symantec site, which I did.

A representative of Norton reinstalled the program and everything worked perfectly. But two days I noticed the icon is again missing from the notification bar, and the program does not start.

I also recently suffered windows not start (blue screen, etc.). Repair and recovery made a restore.

If all this is connected? If so what is the problem with my PC?

  • I tried all of your corrections but after 2-3 reboots home past to the yahoo search engine - I'm fed up and let Firefox if no solution

I've followed all the patches on your chatline:
At different times, I turned off the graphics accelerator, I cut all add-ons, refreshed firefox, went in firefox safe mode, but even though firefox is returned to normal, after 2-3 restarts if he returned showing on my home page yahoo search engine. I have my own homepage written in HTML and use it on all my browsers for many years. I downloaded Firefox on the Mozilla site (twice) and have never downloaded from a Yahoo site sponsored. I never asked to have Yahoo as my search engine and do not want. I'm getting harder and more fed up with the situation, and if no permanent solution can be found, so I'll let Firefox (after many years of use). Please find a solution!

Thanks to all who offered a solution to my problem, but although some suggestions were given a temporary solution, the problem is back after a short time.
However, I think that I have now found the solution:
Although a spybot check did not find a problem, I searched "Files and folders" in the control panel and found 2 entries for 'the browser extensions' and 'search protection' of a company called "SPIGOT.COM".
I uninstalled both of these applications and it seems completely solved the problem, even after several reboots and cold starts.
I don't know who is this company, have never seen before and never knowingly downloaded something on their part or any partner site.
    So there you have it!
I hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
    Pete.

  • Remove all of the default search engine but google for all users?

I work for a school district that uses web filtering out both in network. We were running through a situation where our students are able to move from Google to Yahoo search engines to see inappropriate material. We have worked with our provider of web filtering outside to prevent that from happening, but so far no resolution of the problem. As I'm about to about 600 computers images for fall next, staff, admins, and especially Parents (I'm sure) would be as is not the case.

My question is this. Is it possible to change search preferences in the application Firefox so that all students can use to search is Google? I can do the application itself, or is this another case where the settings are all stored in the profile users?

    Thank you

Look in user.js creation and the lock settings, so the local user cannot change it.
    This should help!

  • How can I stop Firefox to redirect me to the Yahoo search engine

When I try to go to the official site for ATF Cleaner, Firefox redirects me to the Yahoo search engine.
I have removed all references to Yahoo in my registry and searched all the user for any reference to Yahoo profiles. I am running Firefox version 29.0.1 on Windows XP.

It is also possible that this problem is due to an add-on, maybe one who snuck on your system as part of a bundle.

In the case where one of your extensions is concerned, could test the page Firefox Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

I deleted some photos from my iPhone 6 but I noticed that it was also deleted out of my IMac. How can I stop this

If you use iCloud photo library all the photos you delete a device will be deleted to iCloud and all other devices that are connected to this library to iCloud. The iCloud design library should synchronize all changes, including deletions, to all devices. You can reduce the storage space required on your phone by selecting settings > iCloud > Photos > optimize iPhone storage.
