I have more than 250 registry errors, what should I do?

I did a scan of my registry and found that there are 257 errors here. What would you do? Would you use one of the registry cleaners from the net or what. I find that I cannot defragment because the process stops short, informing that the files are unreadable.

I and many experts in these forums will tell you that the registry cleaners usually do more harm than good. They often claim that correct registry "errors" that simply did not matter. To try to resolve the 'mistakes' unimportant they can often cause havoc on the PC, causing either that it doesn't work properly or at all.

Registry cleaners don't consider as a panacea for your computer problems. If you have a specific problem, are looking for a specific answer. People in these forums will be happy to help you.

As for your question of defragmentation, try a disk check. See:

Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Back up your data on a separate drive until you start as a precaution.
