I have no sound from a WANT of HP dv7 notebook Windows 8.1.

I have a laptop dv7 in HP Envy with Windows 8.1. The sound does not work, and the volume icon says that no Audio output device is installed. Help, please! I did the 8.1 update a few days ago, don't know whether or not I had after that. Help, please!

Hello

Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59501-60000/sp59654.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop by holding down the key SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.

Then disconnect the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

Kind regards

DP - K

  • No sound from the computer after the upgrade to windows 7

Hello! I have a windows vista Home premium. last week, I decided to buy windows 7 Home premium that I did. I booted from the CD, installed Win7 and everything was fine. But as soon as I installed it, I realized there was no noise, and in the task bar, the volume icon had a red X next to it. Whenever I flew over the volume button, that it says "no audio output device is installed." it's a little strange because I have a realtek sound card that was prefect of work until I upgraded. someone gave me a link to the realtek drivers, which do not work either. and in the Device Manager, my sound card did not even appear! There was no "video and video games controller" or something like that and my sound card is not in any of the categories devicemanager. All I see in the other devices section in Device Manager is a "multimedia Audio Controller" which has a warning sign yellow (!) beside him. Maybe it's my sound card. is it? Please help, as I got my sound back!

EDIT: Problem solved: I was stupid and install Realtek drivers when I got a sound card DIAMOND

  • No sound from speakers on the Satellite C665 running Windows 7

    Hello

Today, I was running my Toshiba Satellite C665 (Windows 7 OS). I left my computer when I needed to get away there for an hour, and when I got home, my screen was showing the 'blue screen of death '. I restarted my laptop, to see that no sound would come out of my speakers.

I can still get sound with headphones. I have restarted my computer 3 times and tried to set up my speakers through Control Panel. My computer is not on mute and is not my Media Player.

    Thanks for your help!

    Laura

This problem with BSOD is quite strange.

Click with the right button of the mouse on the symbol of the speakers in the taskbar and open devices reading option.
    Pregnant option is listed here?

Click with the right button of the mouse over it and make sure that it is set as the default device.

    Any change?

  • No sound from Port Replicator NetDock after installing XP on Tecra 8200

After a recent accident, I re-installed my 8200 using XP SP2. Now I have no sound from the Netdock. All other functions of the DS seem to be OK.
I downloaded the latest drivers Yamaha for XP SP2, but still no sound.

I get no option to change analog output on the control panel of Yamaha. Device Manager lists system Yamaha DS + XG Legacy Sound (WDM) and Yamaha DS - XG PCI Audio Codec (WDM) as well as other codecs, gane and multimedia control device port.

I want to get her back through the Netdock.

    Hello Pete

One of my friends has a Tecra 8200 running Windows XP Home edition, but SP1and everything works correctly. I really don' t understand why the its doesn't work.

Sorry, but this unit is not supported for Windows XP Home edition, and it is not easy to say why the Board its doesn't work properly. If all goes well, another forum user has more experience.

    Good luck!
