  Maybe this can help someone else...  I had to simply properly uninstall CS3 and reinstall again after that.  I think what he sort!  I also remember having a similar problem with the Mac at work a couple of years back.  Not sure if it is the same for CS5/CS6.  Here is a link on how to properly uninstall CS3 on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS.  I'm on OS X 10.9.2 but it works beautifully.  Remove from Creative Suite 3 and CS3 products

  What is the manufacturer, brand and model number accurate and complete from your computer?  What is the manufacturer, the brand and model of your keyboard?  We can not help you without more information on your specific computer.

  If you want to go faster, simply contact the Group technical support from the manufacturer of the computer or go to their support site and ask them or look for this issue.  If you provide us with the above information, we will go to their website and see if we can find the instructions (if we can) – and they will be able to do it faster and better than we can.  The choice is yours.

  Maximum machines, the license can be activated is 2. Somehow, it seems that on your side the same license can be activated on any 3rd machine as well.

  Activating the license on any other machine, please select the option to disconnect all other devices and try again.

  Firefox IS working with Windows 8 in Mode safe (I got a message saying Firefox had not been closed properly) with a new profile. If I used an existing profile, Firefox would start and then close when I went to ANY website or any just not start.   I have created a new profile, turned off all plugins, redonfigured my security suite of network to start automatically and restarted normally. When Windows came, I launched Firefox with the new profile, went to a few sites only to confirm it worked and then activated the security suite. No problems. I then reactivated some of my plug-ins. I had problems again when all the following plugins have been re-activated:
