I have problems to import photos from the Canon EOS 70 d in Lightroom on a macbook pro

When I try to import photos from my Canon EOS70D in Lightroom, first I get "Preview not available for this file" for all files on the camera. If I check a few photos to import Lightroom said then that's important but the pictures never import and eventually I have to cancel the import. I tried to import a picture and this same thing is happening.

I don't think that is the cable or the camera that I can import into iPhoto from the camera using the same cable.

All advice appreciated.

It's ok thank you, I found the problem. I have to let the camera connected to the laptop for a while. Finally, all files have thumbnails, and then I can import them. I tried before import them too quickly.

I desperately need help!  I've been trying to use Lightroom 5, what's new with Nikon d810 also new camera and I'm not able to import photos from the card.

Someone help me please get it going, I'm so frustrated.

Not necessarily. the images on the card could still be corrupted and the jpeg preview is visible in other programs other than LR. Have you noticed the same behavior on multiple cards? If so, it suggests that LR is the culprit. I suggest you save and optimize your LR catalog, and then stop and restart your computer and see if the behavior persists.

  • Recently impossible to import Photos from the digital camera or iPhone device

In the past, whenever I have one of my digital cameras or an iPhone connected to my PC (Dell Inspiron 530 running on Windows Vista), the import box would jump to the top, I'd choose to import photos and everything worked without problem.  Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but recently I uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2007 and installed Norton 360 and since then I'm unable to download pictures from my digital camera (Canon Powershot SD950 IS) or my iPhone.  The box "import photos" don't jump (it always did before), and when I go to the Picasa or Windows Photo Gallery and try to "import from camera", it tells me there is no connected device (this happens when the iPhone or the Canon camera is plugged).  And instead of the pealing sound, my PC would usually do when a device is correctly spiked, he made three low knock-type noises, as if to say the device was not properly read.  Interestingly, the iPhone still synchronizes / charges, etc., but I can't get on the photos.  I spent some time chatting with Norton Customer Support, because this issue has started only after that I installed Norton 360, but we have uninstalled Norton 360 (re - installed since) and the problem continued.  I tried several ports, and because this problem has affected at the same time my iphone and a digital camera, that work with any other son and USB ports, I'm pretty sure that this is not something simple like a bad port or wire.  I don't know if it's a matter of updating Windows Vista or what.  So now I'm scratching my head...

  • Photos app: Import Photos from the hard drive

    Hello

I have a number too many photos on my hard disk, divided into several folders (albums).
When I try the import option, from the Photos App it shows me all the photos (3000) on my hard drive and I have to choose each picture to import.
It is a simple and hassle-free way to achieve by choosing just one folder to import?
    Any help much appreciated.

raghavendralr, once you have your photos on your computer Windows 8 files, you will need to include the folder where you have your photos in the photo library so that the Photos app to see.  Then you should be able to use the Photos app to browse your photos.

To add a folder to your photo library, right click on the folder in the desktop browser, select "Include in the library" - "Images".  More details: in Office Explorer (to open it, press Win - E), expand the node for the computer in the left pane and continue to expand folders until you see the folder that contains your photos.  In the left pane, right click on the folder icon and select from the contextual pop-up menu "Include in the library" - "Images".

Return of the Photos app, click the thumbnail of the picture library on the home page, you should see the contents of your folder newly added shortly.

Alternatively you can copy/move your files in your existing images folder which is by default already in your photo library.  In the left pane of the Explorer desktop, expand libraries - images to see what files are in your photo library already.

    Hope that helps.

  • Unable to import photos from the Android phone and get a 0X80004005 error message

I'm trying to import pictures from my android phone, and I get this error code?

    Hi Pam,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand, from the description of the problem, you are unable to import photos from your android phone and you get an error.

I appreciate if you could answer a few questions.

    1. how you try to import the photos?

2 how to connect Android phone on your computer?

3 what is the brand and model of your Android?

Copy pictures and videos from the micro-SD card on your Android device to a computer, allows you to save and use them on your PC for editing, sharing or display. The process of copying the photos and videos from your phone to a computer is quite simple, just follow the instructions below to start.

    Step 1:

    1. connect your smartphone using the USB sync cable. A USB icon appears in the notification area of your phone.

2 on the smartphone, drag down the notifications bar and then type. Then tap USB connected and then climb.

3 on the computer, click START, and then select computer or workstation. The micro-SD phone card is recognized and listed as a removable disk.

4 double-click the removable disk to open it. Double-click the DCIM folder, and then the camera folder.

5 in this folder, you can copy all the photos and videos taken with the digital camera on your Android smartphone.

6 to disconnect your Android, just go to the area of notifications on your phone and press the USB sign to disconnect.

  • OJ6480 am not able to import photos from the memory card inserted in the printer to laptop?

I can't import pictures from my memory inserted in my OJ6480 card.  I am connected with USB and nothing appears automatically after you insert card.  Also, I used the menu photo option and he doesn't want me to import.  Help, please!  Thank you.

    Hi cafahr,

I understand you are trying to print photos from a memory card.

I find the user manual for Officejet 6480 and found the following.

After taking pictures with your digital camera, you can print them immediately or save them on your computer. To save the pictures on your computer, remove the memory card from your digital camera and insert it into the slot for card memory on the device.

    To save your photos

NOTE: Use these instructions only when you use a network connection. If you are using a USB connection, then a dialog box appears automatically on the computer when you insert the memory card into the device.

    1. Insert a memory card into the suitable location on the device.
    2. press on the picture Menu.
    3. press the arrow keys and select Photo transfer and then press OK.
    4. press the arrow keys, and then select Yes.
    5. press the arrow keys and select transfer to computer, and then select the name
    of your computer.
6 follow the prompts on the screen on your computer to save the photos to your
    computer.

From what you described, the question is simple, the dialog box does not appear on the computer. What happens if you start it > computer or workstation? Do you see something here that looks like it could be the card into the printer?

Try to leave the printer and unplug the power cable (with the inserted memory card), leave the printer unplugged for about a minute and then plug it back. I want to see if this will push the communication to the computer.

Have you used this memory card in the printer before successfully? I ask because the problem may be the memory card or the memory card reader in the printer. Take a look at this link, memory card troubleshooting.

I hope it's useful. If the problem persists, please return with answers to the questions I asked, I'll gladly do some additional research and return with possible solutions. Please also let me know if you use a Mac or a WIndows OS.

  • try to import photos from the new ang camera get no results

I can't get the message import to come so I can upload photos of my new camera.  Everything is connected, but nothing happens.

    ================================================
    OK... something to try...

Connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable and
    Turn on the camera.

Reach... Start / computer / removable devices
    Storage...

Look at the drive letters and see if one of them
represents the camera. He can say removable disk

If the camera is recognized... right click on the drive letter
and from the menu choose... Open or explore.

The directory of the memory card in the camera must
poster and if you browse through the various
files, you must find the photo files.

Once found... you can copy/paste the pictures in a folder
    on your hard drive.

Simple and the best solution IMHO is to use an internal
or external USB memory card reader.

It will not drain your camera batteries and can be faster.
FWIW... download from the camera when batteries
can be low after a long photo shoot could result
    corrupted photos.

You have a USB media drive internal or external?

Insert the memory card into the correct location on the media player...
    If open windows... Close them.

When the card is inserted... If you go to... Start / computer... is
player card on one or several removable disks?
(You could say, "devices with... of removable storage")

    Removable (e :)) drive
    Removable disk (e :))
    Removable drive (g)

If_Yes_you can download photos from there. Left click
the drive letter that corresponds to the memory card must
display the directory of the card and you can copy and paste or
Drag and drop the photos of your choice in a folder on your hard drive
    drive.

Just a select group of photos do a right-click and choose... Copy...
then navigate to the folder that you want, and then right-click the
    folder and choose Paste.

  • How can I import photos from the office in Lightroom?

Like I can't understand how to import pictures from my office in Lightroom, I would appreciate guidance.

    Cliff

There are a lot of examples and tutorials on the Internet about importation, for example: http://tv.adobe.com/show/getting-started-with-adobe-photoshop-lightroom-5/

In addition, put pictures on your desktop is NOT a good idea, finally, you need to move photos out of your office and this can cause problems with Lightroom. Instead, create a folder somewhere are put the pictures there, and then import them using the Add option.

  • Problems to import photos with the Olympus EP1 art filters?

I just purchased Lightroom 2.5 to work with my Oly PE1. I used 2 aperture for a few years with my Oly E3 before getting the Oly PEN, so I have no experience with LR.

So... when I import my pictures from the camera in LR, the RAW files appear, but I can't access the companion JPEGs I've shot using the art filters. I admit willingly I don't know LR - I have a reference book on order - if I'm doing something obvious and easy to fix? Maybe a wrong setting that I don't know everything?

In the preferences / Import, klick JPEGs to treat next to raw as separate photos files, then you will be able to see RAW and JPG with the same base name as part of the separated achievable in LR.
