I have two hard drives, how do I enroll their

my laptop has a place for a secomd HDD that I need how can I synchronize their one?

If what you want is more space, you just install a second drive in your laptop - secondary hard drive bay or replace the existing with a larger drive.  You do not 'synchronize' readers.

You have already installed the second hard drive?  If so, it should show in my computer as drive D:-is this?

If you have physically installed the disk but it does not appear in my computer, you probably assign a drive letter and format it.

Start disk management (start > run > diskmgmt.msc > OK)
In the lower pane, you should see an entry for disk 0 (this is your player - first - master, in order to do not touch) and an entry for disc 1.
The entry for 1 disk will probably say "Unallocated" and show the size of the disk.  Right-click on the white space where it says "Unallocated" and select "New Partition".  Follow the wizard to create a partion "primary" and give the reader a letter (D: would be a good idea) and the format of the player.  Choose the NTFS file system.

Note that you may need to change the drive letter of your CD/DVD drive if that has already received the letter D: (or you can simply accept the first letter that shows).  This by scrolling down in managing disks and right click on the entry for the CD/DVD drive.

Once you have formatted the new drive, and it has a drive letter, you can just move files and folders from your first drive.  If you want to move your entire "My Documents" folder and its subfolders, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310147

You can't move programs, however.  Those that you need to uninstall and reinstall, specifying the new drive as the destination.

  • If you have two hard drives, can you wipe the second and just use it as a storage device?

If you have two HARD drives in a PC Windows 7, can you remove everything (including the System 32, Windows users, literally everything) in the second and still use his computer? All my programs on the first HDD would remain on my PC, but all the files of the second being scratched? I'm running out of space on my first HARD drive and need to know if I can keep the second as storage just pure.

    Thank you.

    Hey Elliot,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description, it seems that you want to delete all the data on the secondary hard drive without affecting the first hard drive operating system files.

I'll be happy to help you with this.

If the operating system (Windows 7) is installed on the first hard drive, it has nothing to do with the second hard disk. You can go ahead and delete all data without hesitation.

Note: Make sure that you remove the data from the hard drive where Windows 7 is installed.

If you want to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and help your computer run faster, use disk cleanup.

  • I have two hard drives 500 GB & 250 GB, 500 GB was drive C:, the two had switched, how I safely switch back?

I can find two hard drives, but he did tell me that one is the 500 GB or 250 GB. Need to get my 500 to the C: drive.

If you start the computer (start-> computer), you can see the drives with their letters of player sizes and how much space is used.  If your computer is running however, I would recommend against trying to move the letters because it is likely to make your computer unusable.

    Good luck.

  • Create new virtual machine of the model that have two hard drives in the different data store

We do VM deploy automation with PowerCLI.

There is already a model created with at least two hard drives to one side and each hard drive belong to difference datastore,

In the model's operating system is Windows server 2008 R2 already installed VMware Tools and other software in the second (other than C: driver) driver

We can successfully deploy a new virtual machine with this manually with vSphere client model.

But when we try to make the deployment with PowerCLI, can not find examples of similar scripts in the document of reference,

and we also google this question, still no similar question was found.

Is this possible with PowerCLI? If it's possible could you give me some advice or an example of script, thank you!

    Best regards.

    I already found the solution.

With the vSphere SDK .NET API, we can create the new virtual machine to the model

Mainly used API listed below, sorry because I can not give the source code here.

  • When I click on computer it tells me that I have two hard drives

    one is my vista-EU (c) 465 GB.

The other is disk data backup, also with 465 GB.

now please can you tell me what the backup hard drive data is for.

and how I can use it.

can I put some of my files on it.

or when I fill the disk hard vista will it then go to the hard disk of 2 nd,

as you can see I don't know, so I thought I'd ask.

You have two physical disks or you have a disk partitioned into two identical partitions?  You must open your PC and watch.  However, if two physical disks or two partitions on a physical disk, probably little in terms of use.  The additional drive has a drive letter (i.. e, D or E or something like that)?  If it has a drive letter, there the files on the disk?  Use Windows Explorer to search for.

If you have a second empty drive, it can be interesting to use it as a backup.  Most versions of Windows have built a backup program.  Some may clone a drive, and it is the best way if the goal is speedy recovery operation.  You make just a bit-to-bit drive C and then if something happens to this player, you have a copy of the morror from where you start.  Do you the back up data you don't need to back up, however.

Other backup programs will bring copies only specific data to you and in most cases, that's fine.  If sometrhing occurs on the C drive, replace you it, reinstall Windows and your other programs, and then copy your data specific to your user profile.

While there is an element of risk if the two discs are in the same PC, a defect in the drive does not necessarily mean that they will both fail, then what you get is more likely to be available in the case of a faulre.

Have two partitions on the same drive adds a bit of risk.  If something were to happen to your physical drive, you lose not only the C drive, but whatever the drive is mapped to the other partition.

In all good backup system, you must also use off-site, such as DropBox and SkyDrive storage.  It wouldn't hurt to burn your WIndows on a CD or a DVD profile regularly also.  You should have three copies of any file that you feel is important.

  • I'm finally upgrading to XP (SP3) to Win7. I have two hard drives on my computer.

Can I move the files I want to save on the other hard drive and install Win7 on the main HD instead of buy an external HD as the instructions State?

I have an old Dell XPS410 with 2 GB of RAM and two HDs. The only thing I use the other HD for storage is (I am an artist and musician). The idea of having to save this HD set is terrifying for me right now there are about 350 GB worth of songs made with reason and images and web graphics made with Photoshop. The last thing I want to do is lose this kind of things. The 2nd HD was added long after I initially bought the computer, and I have never re-installed the system since the 2nd HD has been added.

A custom install of Win7 would also remove the info on the second HD?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Move your songs during the second drive unit. Then turn off the computer and unplug the data cable from the second drive unit. This will leave only the drive that you want to install Windows 7 on connected and nothing on the second disc will be safe.

Custom installation (which is your only option when upgrading Windows XP will however require that you all you reinstall applications (including Photoshop), so locate all your installation media and product keys.)

  • WE made the Notebook G71-340 have TWO hard drive bays

My mother has the laptop mentioned in this topic. She had all kinds of issues with her past. Runs slowly. Crashes. Stop randomly. I ran all virus scan and malware known to man and it found nothing. It's either something that is on the hard drive is not detected and the only solution is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch or it's a hardware problem. I think to install an SSD as drive for improved speed and reformatting of the original disc that is out there at the moment and which install as a secondary drive, * IF * this laptop has the capacity to hold 2 hard drives. Anyone know the answer to this question of 2nd hard drive Bay on the top of their head for this laptop specific? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately this is not one of the models with the extra hard drive Bay. So the answer is no. Think hard external usb disc or a NAS.

Install an SSD as a replacement for the original hard drive is the way to go. Use the largest you can afford and run an image recovery plant from the set of recovery disks.

  • Satellite P300 with two hard drives

    Hi all

I have a Satellite P300 1 9, which seems to have two hard drives of 250 GB. A (Hitachi) is partitoned 'Vista C and E Data' and the other (Toshiba) is listed as drive had ' which is empty. If I right click on anything, say a document, and select ' send to ' I don't have the option to send to the D drive. How to store data on this drive?

    Thank you

    cheven.

If your laptop has two hard disks, it clearly appears in Windows Explorer.
The first HARD disk is divided into two partitions, and on the second partition, which belongs to the first HARD drive, you will see folder HDDRecovery (do not remove the second HARD drive).

Deleting files is the same as on the withdrawal between the two partitions. It is the WXP/Vista basic know-how.

  • Two hard drives - what to set the page file to?

I have two hard drives, Windows is installed on C:, what should I set my page of the settings file for better performance? Hard drive space is not a problem, I have a 250 GB and a 1 TB drive, both are less than half full. I have 3.25 GB of RAM DDR2.

I heard move the swap file on a second hard drive is beneficial, because the OS files and the page file could be consulted at the same time. Defining a very large page file or file page on both drives will hurt performance? What is a variable size compared to a matter of constant size?

It shouldn't be noticeable performance difference if the swap file is bigger than "necessary".

If your system can it take into account, it is considered generally to be a performance advantage to put the file on a different physical disk than the operating system is installed, provided the other player does not see many IO already.

By using a constant size / fixed can eliminate fragmentation of the file page that can occur if it is sized dynamically.

If you anticipate relying heavily on the swap file, maybe reconsider and add more RAM to the system, if possible, or upgrade to a 64-bit computer and the operating system that is able to handle more RAM.

My computer with two hard drives and 2 starting systems has the car crash in the solid state. When I got the new drive and tried to restore from time capsule, I lost some data. How can I see what backups are on the time capsule? My laptop is also saved to the time capsule. Everything is in 'Data' when I look through the Airport utility. I think that the information that I've lost are still there since I was a Capsule 3 to.

Time Machine backup to a sparsebundle.

The sparsebundle will use the share name of computer. So, it should be obvious who is your Macbook and that is your Macpro.

Open the sparsebundle in Finder and keep open the subfolders until you get to the backup of each separate hard drive...

You has of course set the exclusion in Time Machine?

By default, Time Machine will exclude your second drive unless you have included it. Did you?

Once you get to this level during the backup, you can do a full restore manually whenever you want.
