  • After the recent update of Win7, computer will not remain in hibernation

After a recent update of Windows (probably to fix something else), my computer refused to stay in hibernation.
This is a 64 bit machine running Win7 Pro, and he wakes up now randomly after going into hibernation.
I tried using 'powercfg' to see what is wake it up - no result.
I tried to use 'powercfg' to deny the mouse and network which apparently have permission to wake up-no result.
I unplugged the mouse in case there is a vibration of the earthquakes to chance - no result
I unplugged the cable to the router in case there is a stray signal from on the internet - no result
I went into the "Network properties" window and turned off all the "wake up" properties - no result.
I looked at similar questions on this forum and checked "of performance issues" in the Panel as not advised - no problems to report.

OK - what makes the Microsoft with a recent update to cause this problem and when they're going to cancel it?

  • On XP System I've set up separate e-mail accounts 2 identities but OE puts all mail entering any currently selected identity. How can I do it direct to the relevant identity?

I recently had to change an old email client I've used for years, Outlook Express on my Windows XP computer. Using the Base of knowledge (including 209169) articles I have set up two separate identities, with each having its own email account information. But when running, whatever the identity is selected both receives all messages for the two identities. This is not the way it is supposed to work, is it? How can I fix this?

In each identity, go to tools | Accounts. It must only have an account in each. Is this the case?

If they are both, delete the one that should not be there. If this is not the case, then addresses are aliases for the mailbox and you will need to create message rules to divert mail to its respective identities of Inbox.

  • How to export the ASO security filters

    Hello world

I would like to export the security filters on our application of statement which is ASO. Through my research, I struggled to find a good method to achieve this. I executed the view filter MAXL script to produce output, but the result cannot be manipulated for use.

Does anyone have a good way to extract these filters?

Please and thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

You could have a look at the Advanced Security Manager which is a free tool - http://www.appliedolap.com/free-tools/advanced-security-manager
There is also the option to look at using an API
I would say that LCM, but I do not think that it extracted in a format that can then be manipulated.

  • How to have two copies of the same program to install on WIndows 7 and on the desktop

    «"" "Dear help forum:»»"»

I am new to WIndows 7, but just have not found the right research
How to get my answer from Microsoft/Windows 7 basic knowledge.

I have two programs. There are two versions of the same program
('LACE') One is the version 4.0.1, and the other is Version 4.0.6.

I wish I had one old continue to run (using a purchased
Product key which I own and have for years).

BUT there is a problem. The old and new programs are the
same 'setup.exe '? Download 124 MB each. There are small but
many corrections and changes in the new program, I am told, but
they do not have add up to change the size in MB of the program.

SO I'm in trouble when I'm trying to download the program, as
It seems to be in WIndows 7, a small program that removes the
size of the incoming download and informed me that I can not download
a new that I have already one of this program is installed in the
    computer!

He asks me if I want to "Uninstall" the previous version and then replace
It is with a new one. I can't cancel the old version because she had a
Product key that was told to me in the instructions that he could
only be used 'once', to uninstall the program won't help
me as I won't be able to continue to use this program once again, as the
registration code could only be used once.

I have a purchased code new, different program version 4.0.6.

Is this a problem with WIndows 7? I already called/sent the
company and they have no help and no solution for how these two programs
are to run on the same computer at the same time.

Can you please help me and provide instructions on how I load
This program of "LACE" most recent second size 124 MB and even download
name in the computer (replacing the automated duplicate program
prevention installer routine), so I can have and use two copies of
This program on the computer at the same time?

During the creation of this issue, I had an idea of what will happen if I created a
second Downloaded Programs folder to contain the program setup.exe inside
and try the operation or the opening of this place. He did not like
the program checked the computer for the first copies of the
LACE and identified, he was always present in the computer and asked
Once again if I wanted to remove it.

    Thank you very much!

If this program is not designed for the execution of the two copies on a single installation of Windows, then you simply can't do.  No ifs, ANDS or goals.  You have never been able to do with any version of Windows, and apparently the creators of this program thinks there is no reason to do so, then you'll just have to choose one version or another.  I'm not familiar with the lace, but more recent versions programs usually include most of the older features while adding the most recent.  They sometimes make us learn new ways of doing things that make us less happy, but I'm afraid that's life in the world of computing.

That said, I must mention that there may be alternatives that you might continue even if they are less obvious than what you suggested.  If you have the professional version or full edition of Windows, you can get XP mode free you can start Windows 7.  It normally happens in 15 to 30 seconds and you could install and run another version of your program under that.  If you do not either of these versions, you can invest in the Anytime Upgrade and do it available.  Upgrade Home Premium to professional is $ 90.

The other alternative would be a dual-boot configuration where you could have two versions of Windows in separate partitions, so when you start your computer, you can select the one with the version of your program you want.  I think that the choice of the XP mode would be preferable because it would be so much easier to use, but these two options are available, if you want to continue.

    Good luck.

  • I have win xp SP3 installed on my PC. I use several external hard drives to store video files. How can I make sure that they maintain the same drive letter, every time that I connect them?

All these hard disks are connected via the USB ports, but not all of them are connected at the same time. I use Adobe first Elements to edit videos, & if I open an adobe project it is expected that the video files will always be under the same drive letter.

Have you tried to assign drive letters using disk management?
    Mount your drive, then

    Start-> Run-> "diskmgmt.msc".

Find your player in the list, right-click on it and select "change drive letter and paths...". »

  • My hard drive crashed, I have my key of win 7 but no disc how to recover the software?

Hello, my hard drive crashed and can't access my pc so I bought another one, but I don't know how I can install win7 to my new hard drive, I tried to retrieve the windows product key with software, but it did not work, what should I do?

Microsoft also does Digital River for Windows 7 downloads. Windows 10 will soon be out, and you are eligible for a free upgrade of your Windows 7 OEM license.

Know you can not install Windows 7, so the best thing for you to do is to install Windows 10 10130. It's beta software, but it is very stable. You will be able to use Windows 10 Insider 10130 as a springboard to Windows 10 RTM outside at the end of next month.

See here for instructions on downloading Windows 10 10130 x 64 .iso Insider and prepare the USB support:

  • I have a problem with the security being off center.

Hello world. I'm trying to solve the problems on a laptop of series of 15NB57 Phillips, under Vista Home Premium, 32-bit + SP2.

1 "the Security Center is disabled. After clicking the box "Turn on Now", the error message reads:-"the Security Center

    cannot be started ".

After visiting the Microsoft Forum, in which relates to this specific issue, after you follow the instructions for 'Services', navigated to the folder 'Security Centre', as shown, & there is NO!

"Security Center" can be installed on the computer 'Services', without that there is a backup drive, or a system image

to fall back on, because the computer is old for a few years now, but still in good working condition? And, IF it can be done, how?

Two software I have for protection that are on the computer are:-Microsoft Essentials, & Spybot S & D. I'd really like to

you want to be able to put a real anti-virus/anti-spy on software.

    2. in the section 'Firewall' of the program, a command prompt says "Windows Firewall is not using the recommended

To protect your computer, the settings ".  Along the coast, which is one is an another prompt 'Parameters of update now'.  After clicking

"Update settings now", the error message reads:-"Windows Firewall was impossible to make the requested updates.

And finally, always in the firewall section, the two features on the left hand...

... "Turn Windows Firewall On or Off" & "Allow A program Through Windows Firewall" on the TWO actions, the error message reads:-"due to a problem not identified, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings.

I think the problems are especially linked, & these are produce because the "Security Center" in the section of the program Services does not exist. It could a virus of one form or another has deleted it.

I am familiar with computers to a certain extent, but not when it comes to dive deeply into the program. With 'step by step' instructions when it comes to bios & register (I was at a time when looking for something that I had to look for), should be no problem.

Any help, advice or assistance that can be offered, would be welcome, and appreciated.

Thank you, in advance for your help.

    Yours Sincerely

    cw63

  • Can I use the latest version of Firefox. I have Win XP Pro PIII 600 Mhz. 3.6.25 excellent works, but I still get the message to be updated?

I am so happy with Firefox 3.6.25 (thank you), but I'm worried update the program because the requirements of system does not respond to my PC or does it? I have Win XP Pro SP2, PIII 600 MHz I still get messages on your part on updating the program but do not know if it is possible.

Stick with the version you have now. The versions of Firefox 4 + need a processor with SSE2 instruction set, as in the Intel P4 processors.

    Recommended hardware

       * Pentium 4 or newer processor that supports SSE2
       * 512MB of RAM
       * 200MB of hard drive space

This is a complete scam.  You can report it to your local police.

For your own protection, you should:
    • Change your passwords on email accounts, accounts financial and sensitive to which accounts you access online from this PC.  RIGHT NOW!
    • Run a full scan of your PC using your antivirus application...    Also download and run a full scan with Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free edition).  MBAM is a very good solution in addition to your primary backup antivirus/antimalware application.
    • I would also go here: https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Shared/Help.aspx and follow the advice of "I think that my PC is infected", including potentially calls MS help.
    • Above all, do not delay!  If you have any concerns about the handling of it, then disconnect your computer from the internet and call MS before anything else.
