I have windows 7, but I can't open .docx documents

When I try to download an attachment .docx to my e-mail address, it saves it in a compressed (zipped) file and once I extracted it everything that I can't find the document, only the themes, styles, etc. I have Windows 7, so I don't know why it's not just open them in word.

No, you should be able to open .docx files, since you have Word 2007. It seems that something goes wrong with the attachment. Since I don't know what email client/system you are using, I don't know what goes wrong. Are these attachments only one person? If Yes, then the person is probably by joining the files incorrectly. If not, then have you ever able to open these attachments? If so, what has changed? What email program are you using? Win7 is not a native email program.
