I have Windows vista Ultimate edition. but he started asking for activation after the windows update while it has already been activated before the update.

Hello, Pichon,

If Windows Vista application unexpected activation

On rare occasions, you may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer that did not previously require Windows Vista activation or has already been activated successfully. For example, this may occur on a computer on which Windows Vista was preinstalled by an OEM installation or Volume licensing and are major hardware changes occurred, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time.

If you are prompted to reactivate Windows Vista, you can do this by using the Windows Activation Wizard to:

  1. Click Start, and then click computer.
  2. Click System Properties on the toolbar, and then click click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation area. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
  3. Select the Windows Vista activation method that you want, and then follow the instructions.

To avoid this problem in the future, obtain the latest service pack for your version of Windows Vista, either through automatic updates or direct download.

To update to Windows Vista and prevent this activation problem does not happen:

  1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update.
  2. Click find updates.
  3. As soon as Windows Vista found the updates, click the install updates button.

Hello my name is Bret, I have a question. Buy a disc of Windows 7 off of Ebay illegal? It has already been opened before.

Certainly not illegal but certainly not at the shelter.  You have no idea of what the seller will send you, and if they are already using the product key that came with the package, you will not be able to use it and have bought nothing.  Save yourself the potential pain and get a copy retail instead.

  • Vista Ultimate x 64 Media Center hang during and after the recording program

I recently bought a Sony VGC-RT150Y.  More information can be obtained here:

    http://www.SonyStyle.com/webapp/WCS/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&StoreID=10151&langid=-1&ProductID=8198552921665507557

    Highlights of material are:

    NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600M GT GPU

AVerMedia 313 has (analog TV tuner card)

AVerMedia A317D (digital TV tuner card)

The unit works Vistax64, Ultimate Edition.  I installed all the updates that are available through Microsoft Update.  And there is no download with Sony indicating that they could help solve the problem I have.

The problem is that the computer hangs sporadically after that it registers a program.  After a night of record unattended, the unit is on and does not respond to the keyboard.  The display is blank or frozen.  The computer is connected via a wired network.  I try clicking of the camera and it does not.

Sometimes programs are saved in their entirety.   Sometimes programs are truncated.

When I try to get more information via the monitor of performance & reliability, all I get is "stop disruptive."  When I go into the control panel "Report Problems", there is no reported problems.  History of recording program in Media Center lists only one generic error indicating power has been disrupted or the system was not available.  I know that there is no power failure, because I have a NAS connected to an inverter and there is no paper power failure.

I reported the problem to Sony.  They sent a technician to replace the power supply and the motherboard.  Still no change.

Defective equipment could only be a TV tuner or the RAM.  All other material was traded through the exchange of motherboard.

I'm now back to thinking it's a software problem.  Any ideas on how to start this chasing?

After having poking around on the forums and a little thought, here's what I'll try:

    1. play with the power settings to ensure that the unit never sleeps.  I want to see if the problem is with MCE or power management.

    2. try 'analog' instead of digital recording.  I'm mainly recording clear QAM channels.

I'd be open to other suggestions that you (all) may have to try to understand this.

Have uninstalled vista Ultimate edition on a laptop at home and it downloaded onto a laptop larger home. Activation is refused on the ground that the product is already used on the first laptop. This is a single user license. But my IP address must be the same that I use two laptops on a router from apple.

Be very much obliged if someone could kindly explain in simple terms I should do to fix the problem.

    Hello

You don't say what kind of license of Windows you have.

It depends on the type of license you have, as to whether you can transfer it or not.

Pre-installed Licenses OEM (HP, Acer, etc.) and the Microsoft System Builder OEM licenses are tied to the first machine that they are installed on and channels of license when this machine dies.

    OEM licenses are not transferable.

If you have purchased your own license for sale retail of Windows and installed yourself, yes you can transfer it to another computer.

    Retail licenses are transferable.

I have two Acer Aspire laptops.  They are totally frozen because of the virus.
I lost the recovery of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition disc, where to get a replacement.
I have to rebuild my laptop.

    Hello

No - what are the two Acers come with a recovery disk?

If this is not the case, one of them would have a recovery partion, which specifically is to reinstall the operating system on it.

With an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process.

All data are lost when you do the above.

And for the lost disc, contact Acer and ask them to send you recovery disks.

They do that for a small fee:

    http://us-store.Acer.com/RCD/

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

  • Get BSOD when updated in Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

I got the Windows Update for Monday, 30/11/09. Under the option updated, I clicked on the update Realtek for my wireless 801.11 b / g driver.  During the download on the window updates screen, he says that he was downloading updates. Then he went to install the updates and I got the BSOD about 3/4 of the way through.  Reboot the computer and to the Welcome screen, it said it was set up the updates.  He crossed the 1st to the 3rd stage, but remained at 0% and then in Windows. When the desktop is loaded, the window "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" came.  When I click on "Find solutions", he went the BSOD and restarted all over again with the same message "install updates" at the Welcome screen.  When I tried to cancel the window "windows has recovered...". ', he went the BSOD again and restarted again with the same method. The next time I tried to restart the computer and during the stop, he went to the BSOD and restarted everything again. This also happens when I try to shut down the computer.  The stop on the BSOD error message is Stop: 0x0000001A. Windows error that appears under Windows is 80070103.  I am running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.  Help, please. How can I get out of this loop.  I tried the "Fix - It" program, but it's the same thing when he went to restart the computer. I know it has something to do with the appearance of the Windows Update, but I do not know how to break the loop of update.

    Bob,

  • BitLocker preinstalled Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

I have BitLocker on a computer pre-installed with Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, if my TPM module has been disabled; I can see the link in the BitLocker Control Panel icon to turn on after clicking on it to turn it on, it tells me to turn on the TPM secure, restart, and follow the instructions. If I turn it on, when I click on the icon of BitLocker, it tells me that my computer is not configured with bitlocker, shows as 2 drives on the left, on the right it descriptions of the show with an 'x' next to a magnifying glass on a hard drive and the word "off" after the description. Is it the way it is supposed to look like when it will run. Because I put all perimeters to activation, the initialization and the establishment. The TPM is the correct version, group policy is set to the correct specifications, I did everything what I was instructed to do. I even let the TPM to create his or her own password. I initialized and took possession of the TPM, I turned it on, I put it to ignore blocked orders. I installed the security chip. My hard drive is narrowed, there is the extra partition specified as S:, Ok he said after doing this, I have to reinstall the software, but after reinstalling the software, it says it has deleted my second partition. I did it at least 10 times aggravating. So I used the BitLocker configuration tool to shrink the drive and create the partition. Now what I am doing wrong?

  • Upgrade in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.

I am considering the upgrade from Home Premium to Ultimate. I already bought the software Windows Vista Ultimate Edition at a great price from Circuit City when they were going out of business. I am currently using Windows Vista Home Premium. I need to install a program called SolidWorks 2008 CAD - 2009 in College and this program is already bought and in my possession. Family Premium is not compatible with this program. I really don't want to go because I believe that it will lose the ultimate software, but I think, that I have no other choice in order to use my copy of SolidWorks 2008 - 2009. So I have a few questions related to it. Is there a way to get around this, and if not, is there something I need to do or uninstall until I try to install this upgrade? I can't afford to have any problems during this update because I need every day my computer for school. Is a one time installation were I will not be able to use this ultimate software on another computer ever? Thanks for your help.

  • Windows Vista Ultimate Edition will not be upgraded to Windows 7

Windows 7 Upgrade says he cannot directly upgrade Windows XP, duh?  I ran the Upgrade Advisor before running the upgrade software and did not get this stupid message. I get only when the software upgrade performs its checks.  I am running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition with all updates to September 24, 2013.

Which edition of Windows 7? It matches the edition of Vista you are trying to upgrade to?

When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.

If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:

Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise

Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.
