Currently I have Windows vista. I want to upgrade to windows 7. I would lose my files, programs, settings, and virus protection
original title: upgradeIf you do an in place upgrade your files and programs will remain on the computer. If you perform a custom installation, you will need to back up your files and reinstall your programs.
Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:Back up any files and settings you want to keep
Install Windows 7
Reinstall all your files

First of all, in my opinion, this operating system is already installed
No matter, for the following reason:If I bought a used computer, no matter who previously owned, the first thing I have with it would be to reinstall the operating system itself. You don't know how the computer has been maintained,
which has been improperly installed, what's missing, what virus and
There may be spyware, etc. I would not live with someone of another errors and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc, and I would not recommend anyone else to do.
If you reinstall Windows properly, you are playing with fire.Second, you must decide which version of Windows you want to
install. Although you didn't, because you posted in Windows XP
Forum, is that what you want to install XP? If Yes, let me point out that
Windows XP has been interrupted, and find a copy for sale is now
very difficult, except for a place like eBay. and if you buy it on
eBay, you run the risk that you will get a pirated copy
you will not be able to activate.Third, you must determine what that the hardware configuration of the
the machine and determine whether it is adequate for any version
Windows you want to install. An old machine like a race
Windows 2000 is most likely insufficient for any version of
Windows. And fourth, you may need drivers for some of the material in the
machine for the version of Windows Installer. And with such an old
machine, there is a good chance that there's no such thing as the drivers you need. What all this boils down to is the real possibility that you
actually can't do anything with this machine without replacing the
the majority of its material. And they can be economic to something
do; you could save money and be better off buying a new machine that

I have Windows XP and you want to clear all of my browsing history.
I'm in Internet Explorer and I used the help Option and he told me to do the following:
1. click on 'start '.
2. click on "Control Panel."
3. in the find what box, type "convenience store".
4. click on "show all".
5. click on "security on Internet Explorer.Well, there isn't any "Internet Explorer security" here!
I want to get rid of all my past browsing history, cookies, passwords, etc., so that nobody can see anything I did on my computer. Also, how navigate private from this point on?
Help, please!
Thank you very much!
- Internet Explorer 6?
- Internet Explorer 7?
- Internet Explorer 8?
Yes - the instructions may vary by"version", if you need to know what version (ALT + H, yet the ALT key, release H and press A then all the buttons then in Internet Explorer) Internet Explorer you use.
For example: to delete your browsing history in Internet Explorer 7Open Internet Options by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking network and Internet, and then clicking Internet Options.
Click the general tab and then, under browsing history, click delete.
Under history, click clear history, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the history.
Click close, and then click OK.
To remove all or part of your browsing history in Internet Explorer 8Open Internet Explorer by clicking on the Start button and then about Internet Explorer.
Click the safety button, and then click delete browsing history.
If you do not want to delete the cookies and files associated with websites in your Favorites list, check the box of data from the Web site preserve Favorites .
Select the check box next to each category of information you want to delete.
Click Remove.
As for the rest of your question - you need to better define what you mean by "go private" because if all you want to say is do not keep a history - just sure the value 0 days or put empty when you close Internet Explorer. I wouldn't consider that private browsing, but some might if they are simply hidden some of their most obvious pieces of the local prying.

Can quicken 2007 run on El Capitan (i.e., os 10.11)? I have one currently using Yosemite and you want to update without losing the use of Quicken 2007. I don't like the new version of Quicken.
Join the club of those of us who don't like Quicken 2015 or 2016 Quicken; even if I bought it for a 40% discount offered by Intuit! I was just disappointed by Q2016 compared to Quicken 2007!
If you have upgraded to the 16.2.3, version it will work well in El Capitan!

I have an iPad Pro 128 GB and you want to synchronize the majority of the elements of my Mac computer to the new iPad. iTunes says I need to download the latest version, but it's already on my Mac which says that I have the current version. How should I proceed.
The iPad Pro requires iTunes 12.3.x, available here. You don't say what operating system you are using: v12.3 requires 10.8.5 minimum (10.9.5 If you want to use Apple Music).

This computer was given to me by my kids. I had with Windows Vista already installed. I also want to install Windows XP to my Quick Books program. Vista will not let me install XP. Can you help me?
Hello
You don't say how you are trying to install XP and if the manufacturer of your computer has XP drivers available for this purpose to activate XP to be installed and run successfully on this subject.
You will need to go to their website where there should be a section to see if they have XP drivers for your model computer.
If they have XP drivers available for it, follow the instructions in these links provided in its response to dual boot Vista and XP:
http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_vista_and_xp_with_vista_installed_first__the_stepbystep_guide.htm
http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-Vista-XP-Vista-already-1946.html
I prefer the Instructions in the second link.
