  Also, I've traveled in order to choose the default program, but when I go to: Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 > Photoshop.exe and choose this program, Windows Photo Viewer is automatically chosen and Photoshop NEVER appear in my choice of default programs.

  It wasn't a problem with an older version of Photoshop.

  Finally figured it out! I just went in the rededit folder, copy, deleted the line of code, and then reinstated it with the correct code (same code she had in) and it works perfectly - same watch upward in default programs!

  I find this weird problem affecting that explorer.exe and not any other .exe files. When I open explorer.exe in the taskbar or the C:\Windows\explorer.exe, the dialog box opens and indicates "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. The control panel default programs Dosen t State .exe in the list of protocols and I find it complicated to press the windows logo and click computer each time. Please tell me that there is a way to solve this problem by means of edit this record.

  It is a decision that was made by Apple.  El Capitan is the newest OSX that will support a 2009 MBP.

  This is not uncommon.  My 2006 MBP came with Tiger, but is limited to OSX Snow Leopard.

  Old hardware ends up by becoming obsolete with newer technology.
