original title: installation of Windows 7

    Hey Joe,

I suggest that you visit the gigabyte website for your region (and/or the site global http://www.gigabyte.com/?f=g ) and check your motherboard for compatibility with Windows 7.

The problem you are experiencing would imply that Windows 7 has no native driver support for your disk controller, so if Gigabyte don't have drivers that you are locked unless you buy a discreet disk controller that is compatible Windows 7.

Please mark this as useful or response if applicable.

On the other hand, you have this posted in a forum of Windows XP when it is really a problem of Windows 7.

  • Acer recovery disks do not install Windows 7 on a new hard drive SSD

    Hi all!

I have Ace Aspire 5742 G laptop and I have problems to install the Windows 7 operating system on my new hard drive SSD (I bought the SSD because the original hard drive is defect and do all the time... blue screens)

For the factory restore, I use the restore disks. I burned the discs a few years back when the laptop has insisted me to do (using eRecovery or something, in total 3 dvds).

Testing of computer to install the operating system with the DVD (asked to insert a dvd and then press a key). The real problem is that the installer will just in loops, restart and eventuallyfreezing in the end...

    Restart--> Acer--> Windows logo takes over... files-> from windows-> reboot-> etc.

Which continued for more than an hour (on the first dvd!) and all of a sudden that it froze right on screen "starting windows..." I had to restart and stars on again once.

I can still use my old formatted HARD drive, should I do the new set of recovery disks or use a USB?

Thanks for the answers in advance!

I was not able to edit my previous post, so I'll make a new...

So I thought (with the help of Google) that the problem was that I had installed the new DDR3 memory game. When I changed them back to the original ones (2x2gb) everything worked smoothly.

    anyway. Thanks for the help!

  • Install Windows 7 on a new hard drive

    Hi all

Old story, my hard drive is down so I bought a new disk of 1 TB of Seagate which is totally clean.  I tried to install Windows 7 Pro, but without a formatted drive any Windows can not find the new drive.  I need to install Windows 7 for software compatibility and server.

    I had ideas.

I thought I might be able to install the hard drive on my computer at home and shaped in this way, no dice, that mount the new drive without spare cords.

How to create a bootable CD on my computer at home and use there - not sure - Windows 7 Home.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Best Rgds,

    Dave R.

When boot you the disk to Setup and windows loads, it says files using SHIFT + F10 to enter in the command line

    Format fs = ntfs quick

  • I can install Windows 7 on a new hard drive for HP Envy m6 1205dx

My HP Envy m6-1205dx son is a notebook of 2013. The screen was broken and I replaced one. Now he says that there is not a BONE, I tried to install a full version of Windows 7 Professional, and he said that he there was not a boot device. I've reconfigured the BIOS to boot with the CD/DVD ROM and it started installing. When he arrives at the point of asking where to put the installation there is no option. I checked the connection to the hard drive and it is not a problem here. I think to buy a new hard drive to install the Windows 7 operating system, I am afraid that it will not work or he will say that I need to install the drivers. This laptop originally supplied with Windows 8. Can I install this version of Windows on this laptop? If I need to install the drivers how can I get them? It cannot be a website to download the drivers on your computer. I can't do without the computer having an operating system. I downloaded some drivers from a link, I saw on You Tube and put it on a flash drive, but none was consistent, one of them did read on a different/more older computer I tried to install this OS on and it says that the driver was out of date. It seems to me that a (FULL VERSION) drivers and everything else you might need. I'm not computer savvy, so I do not know! I'm just trying to save my investment of $600 on this computer without spending $300. I can get a new hard drive for $80 and it was on that I would go; However, I will buy a new Windows 8 operating system if it is the only option.

There is no device driver Windows 7 for your model, only Windows 8:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=5359748&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en

If there is no driver, your PC may not work correctly (No. LAN or WiFi, Audio, USB, etc.) after the installation of Windows 7.

Check your hard drive, if the laptop has been abandoned the drive may be defective and must be replaced.

You can order a support of HP recovery:

  • H8 HP desktop computer - 1285D:-how to re - install Windows 8 on my new hard drive

    Hello

I got hard drive without warning for the month and I finally decided to change the hard drive. I added the new drive on the PC and reformatted it.

I am currently using Windows 10 (update of Windows 8).

I have the recovery CD that I created using Windows 8.

My question is how to install windows 8 nine hard disk? I have to disconnect the old drive hard first and pop in the recovery CD?

    Thanks for the help

    Hello

Did you back up your data?

The best scenario is to use the official media of external recovery HP and bring your PC to a first day factory condition. Remove the default HD and plug the new HD on this port. Now boot to the top of the HP recovery media and following the instructions on the screen.

Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • Install windows 7 on a new hard drive by using recovery discs. (Pavilion all-in-One MS215UK)

Hard drive crashed and HP sent a new with recovery discs that say they will reinstall windows 7. Discs and installed hard drive run for 'restore factory settings' by following the instructions. Takes about an hour and all 4 disks are asking but then becomes at the end and left with white screen saying "no operating system installed."  Left on for a period simply show this message in case something happening in the background, but nothing happens.

2 extra drives came with set, but they simply refer to the instructions that make no mention of them.

Please help I am a novice total things withthese

    Hello

Download and create the bootable CD as described at the link below.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-80183-1&cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en

When you created this CD, insert it into the system that fails to start, restart, and wait until you see a window with a green check mark.  Next, remove the CD and insert your first recovery DVDs.  Reboot the PC and go through the process of installing the operating system again.  If all goes well, it should install properly this time.

    Hello

    You get the error message?

Method 1: I suggest you to run the hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

Method 2: I suggest you to check if the drives are displayed in disk management. If the drive is available in disk management, and then assign the drive letter.

    1. Sign in as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
    2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click performance and Maintenance.
    3. Click Administrative Tools, double-click computer management, and then click disk management in the left pane.
    4. Right click on the drive, the partition, the logical drive or volume that you want to assign a drive letter to and then click change drive letter and paths.
    5. Click change.
    6. Click assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK.
    7. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the drive letter change.

The letter of the drive, partition, or volume that you specified is changed, and the new drive letter is displayed in the appropriate drive, partition, or volume in the disk management tool.

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag (download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) tool
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.

Recovery disks do not use the Image you did install Windows and all software/drivers hard disk from the factory original.

You would start with repair cd to restore the Image.

  • Windows 'Easy Transfer' to new hard drive?

I have a desktop computer Inspiron 530 with XP Pro and you need to install a new hard drive.
My question is can I install the new hard drive in the empty under my old hard drive, plug it in and run Windows Easy Transfer directly from my old HDD to the new HDD? Then I could delete the old and move a normal nine until the slot C:\.
Or, what I have to do it with an external media such as a USB device?

Windows Easy Transfer can read files in Windows XP, but may not restore on Windows XP.  And no, you can't run it on a disk that is installed, but not on Windows.  Anyway, the answer is no.
