Shawn thought it was bad media so I'm a new disc and received the same error does anyone have an idea what might cause this error?

original title: install windows xp

Hi sptusch,

Thanks for posting. Is it a burned disc? If this is you please redownload the image. Also, try the following.

1. place your Windows XP installation CD and start to her...
2. Press any button to start the Windows installation (don't worry... we do not actually use the installer at this point)
3. wait a few moments for the installation program starts, when you see repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, and then press the R key
4. wait until you see this screen, enter the number of your master installation. (Typically 1 to C:\Windows)
5. press ENTER.
6. If you are prompted to do so, enter your administrator password. If you don't have one, leave the field blank and press to enter.
7. from the command prompt, type: chkdsk/r (note the space between chkdsk and / r)
Allow it to complete undisturbed.
8. remove the disc, then restart.

I hope this helps!

    Hello

You cannot install Defender in Vista; It is already part of the Vista operating system.

    Read about Defender:

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.

Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.

Once modified, click apply and OK.

Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"

    Hello

I googled this file pofusido.dll and it could be caused by a virus.

I would suggest that you disable the restore mode as viruses use it to reinstall set apart them.

Download and install the free http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Restart the computer and keep pressing F8 to get into safe mode with network connection.

Once you have updated Malwarebytes run and see if it can remove the virus.

So delete all cookies in your internet Explorer.

    Hello

More information on the "Repair" process is necessary.

What exactly did you do and how long did take?

It sounds as if you have reinstalled the operating system if you reactivate your Vista Business Edition and all your files have disappeard.

Read this information if the operating system has been reinstalled.

When you reinstall the operating system you wipe the hard drive.

    If Vista has been reinstalled:

    Look for a folder windows.old

"How to restore your personal files after performing an installation of Windows Vista or Windows 7"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/932912

And you can try this free program to try to recover data lost, etc.:

    http://www.Piriform.com/Recuva

Other meanings, you will need to contact companies for recovery of data, which are very expensive.

    See you soon.

  • XP installation fails the manifest parser error: installation fails in i386\asms\6000\msft\windows\common\controls\control.man on line 0

Any ideas what this could be?  My laptop not start so I tried to reinstall XP Home Edition and received this message.  I reinstalled the XP several times before.  Recovery does not even recognize the drive and when I try to put it into safe mode of any type, it will stop and say he can't put in safe mode.  It would not come with last good configuration file either.  Installation went as far as formatting the disk, install some files and stops with this error during the installation phase.  I tried a Linux USB image to see if I could get to practice but it is not even appear as a disk.  I also tried a hard drive carrier to try to access with this laptop, but it would not recognize the drive and assign it a letter.  When I tried to map a drive to it, it would be dismissed saying hard disk is not accessible.  The tech Center says this could be because it is password protected.
Any idea on how to get to that hard drive that seems impenetrable? Or does have a virus package root?
Any help would be appreciated.  You can send me an email to * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Shawn Hello, I received a new oem software disc but I still get the same error message.

  • I can't create a new user account (Windows 7): the user profile service service has no logon

I tried to create a new user account, but I get the following error when I try to open a session with him:

the user profile service service has no logon

Until I leave than anything more I will add that I activated the hidden administrator account and this is the account I use to create a new standard user account.

Most of the patches for this issue are due to the fact that delete manually a user account does not remove the registry key that are associated, and you are required to go to the next section of the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\PROFILELIST

and delete the key associated with the user account to be deleted.

This fix IS NOT help, because whenever I try to create a new user, Windows doesn't bother creating a registry key to the new user.  The new user account appears in the account management window.  If I right click ondesktop and select Properties, then the settings , select the Advanced tab and click settingsunder USER PROFILES, the new account appears not here no more.

It is a huge problem.  I have other people who use this laptop and I don't want to use my login information, or the guest account.  I'm not editing the registry just to make a new account.

Please tell me there is a fix for this that works.  Windows 7 was not free, and this kind of problem is very frustrating for the premium software.

Thanks - this is the only tip that help me to find the solution to this problem.

Two files in the folder C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live could not be copied without administrator privileges.  This caused the connection in the attempt fail for all newly created user accounts.  The files are:

    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\Bici1_00.sqm

    and

    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\SqmApi\SqmData720896_00.sqm

I've added the read permission for all users in these two files and retried the logon.  The opening of session proceeded set up initial user and filled perfectly.  Probably, this problem started when I installed Windows Live Messenger which is the only Windows Live application, I installed.

Other important in your message board was to check the event log which stressed the two files which could not copy.  Otherwise provided in WARNING messages immediately preceded files event log error message indicates that the profile service could not connect.
