I installed Windows 7 64 bit and then some programs will not install the 64 - bit while telling me that I have a 32 bit OS. How can I make sure I have load a 64-bit version only when there is a choice?

I have create a new PC and installed Windows & Pro 64-bit. While some offer programs install both 32-bit and 64-bit as a single installation and the installation of the program checks it should install. A few programs installed 32-bit when I said to use the 64-bit. I received a message that I had a 32 bit OS and that it could not install the 64-bit version. How can I ensure that the 64-bit version is always installed when it is available. I have a program that I need it's 32-bit however.

I also installed Office 2010 and want to know how to check if it installed 32-bit or 64-bit.
All this is because I'm about to build a new PC for my wife and want to avoid these problems right at the front with it.
Thank you
Doug

If you buy a commercial version of win7 you are provided with the installation dvd of bit versions and a unique activation key. You cannot install both versions.

Most of the programs will install without problem in a 64-bit version of victory, there is very little that will not be installed on Windows 64-bit.

You install programs as usual, you don't need to change any settings or install to anywhere other than their default locations. -C' IE you do not manually select the x 86 folder or any other folder.

If the program you are installing has the ability to install a specific version of bit, and it does not work, then the problem is that options program installers, you must contact the program support

A retail version of Office 2010 also comes with two versions of ILO.

Having a 64-bit version of victory does NOT mean that you need to install 64-bit Office, in fact MS recommends that stick you with 32-bit Office (reason being compatibility with various plug0ins Office)

And of course the 32-bit version of win only supports 4 GB of memory

  • values of the Spooky object! Help me im lost and stupid and then some... (not for the faint of heart)

    LS,

    This includes the code and some traces of output.

    I tried this for 2 days and it me stupifies.

    I'll elaborate:

    There is a game object, is an object of dictionary containing a screen/name of the index tile_x_y tile

    So I can look it up using x and y coords.

    Contains the object lost things, but in this particular case: x, y, width, height, xtile, ytile (explicit I guess) & xmove(1), ymove (-1.0.1 according to the)

    direction.)

    So, now that these objects move around the screen (Yes it's just a game) and check if they hit the limits of the screen and if they try to pass on the tiles that are busy/no

    traversable.

    It goes very well for most but sometimes objects, or for some objects (no idea why and it changes when you restart), halfway to check limits, internal object x and y

    values go ballistic and I find myself with a reference to the Dictionary object error because tile 30 280 just does not exist.

    What happens is the following (in pseudocode, the actual code is shown below):

    For each object

    Testbounds (Object)

    end for

    Testbounds

    If diry = - 1 (high)

    If (checkbounds (up) == possible)

    change ob.x and ob.y //move coord

    on the other

    If (not possible at all)

    move to the edge of where it can go on the same tiles

    change ob.x, ob.y coord

    on the other

    move a bit in the other possible meanings

    change ob.x, ob.y

    end if

    end if

    end if

    ...

    ... make for y dir = 1, x = 1, x =-1

    ..

    convert new ob.x and ob.y to put the coords / / = divide x and y values by tilesize

    .. Search tile_x_y and see what it is

    BOOOM!     This is where the error occurs because half the x checkbounds and there, or value gets to large, by a factor of 10 if I read the traced output

    But why?

    theres no manipulation on the object in the testbounds function which could cause what I can say.

    But it's far enough because it happens

    Note: if I change the height value object and the width to a value less as divide by 4, that doesn't happen? then only the graphics overlap the not traversable

    graphic on-screen mc because effective width and height are 4 times bigger. Sorta, it spoils everything.

    So here is the plotted output (that's a lot, but I was sick of not finding the bug)

    I first cut out the part where he's going, enter the code that his execution at this time

    Below I have will all stick out of traces and more still of the surrounding code.

    In addition, given that you've read this far, thank you very much, you have my respect and grattitude.

    It seems that something is wrong in the calculation... sometimes.

    Calculation, I discovered that the real end result is exactly the same as the previous x & values y

    If the whole line can be deleted. Solve the problem and save time cpu.

    Question remains how this error is possible.

    I'll repost ultra format short.

    Problem reinstalling Windows XP

    I'm having a problem reinstalling Windows XP.  After formatting the disk and create partitions, it will not complete the installation.  He goes back and reinstall Windows again.  I go through the installation of 39 minutes, the computer restarts to complete and it loops back and start the installation again. Why it does this and what I can do to move beyond this?

    Go into the BIOS and make sure that you your hard drive is not set to off, and that is the first priority boot CD and your second HD.

    Don't push when it restarts anything just to let him do what he does and report back if anything I'm sorry I have no idea.

  • I have trouble deleting a project to create Clip... keep it coming back (sync).  How can I make sure that it is void of all devices and permanently?

    I have trouble deleting a project to create Clip... keep it coming back (sync).  How can I make sure that it is void of all devices and permanently?  So much space being taken up on my iPad... there at - it a why to manage what are sync'd projects and ignore others?

    Hi Bill,

    Sorry, you have trouble. Here's a suggestion:

    1. launch Premiere Clip on a device and make sure it is not open on other devices.

    2. on the device, as it is opened, remove projects that are no longer needed.

    3. allow the synchronization of the application (leave opens and is not the bottom) so that projects are marked as being deleted on the service. A circle of rotation icon appears in the lower left corner of your device while synchronization is in progress.

    4. Uninstalling the app on other devices, then re - install and login to leave remaining projects sync.

    Please let us know if this solves your problem, or if you need more help.

    Thank you

    Hi johanb64152807,

    You can use eSign service, where you can send the document for signatures of several signatories, but the document will be sent to the following signatory after the earlier signed & it is not possible for him to make the changes.

    try again later seems to be stated a bit more lately--to "Tray again later", the only advice we can give is = sorry - nobody never refers again with their success, an estimate of the duration of the problem is not possible

  • How can I make sure deleted files are permantly removed from my system and non-recoverable?

    I have files that I deleted, then emptied my Recycle Bin, but I understand that these are still recoverable. They have not been sent, published or shared. How can I make sure that they are permantently deleted and not accessible from my computer. I have Windows 7 on a HP DM4 if that helps. I need simple answers because I'm a girl who is not all that computer savy. I appreciate the answers, thank you.

    It all depends on how hard you want the person you are looking for the file to work.  What you did until the preserved most of other casual users to recover files.

    If you take the hard drive to a data recovery company, they would probably still recover (unsecured) files.  You can use programs that write too much data time and time again - but even in this case, it might be salvageable.
    Government and businesses know that the only way to ensure that the files have disappeared is to destroy the drive - by crushing or it chop into pieces with a machine to grind.
  • How can I make sure I have need of aid is a legimate technician. just been scammed by someone representing as my virus protection company

    pop up kept appearing on the lower right of the computer saying I had infections more 5 000.  He showed my company logo protection antivirus (AVG) and because the computer was slow and freezing I connected.  He registered a phone number to call for help.  I called, explained my problem and the man said: I'll connect you with a technician.  I specifically asked if he was in this country, and he said he was in Connecticut.  The reason I asked was because I am deaf it made it difficult to understand people with accents.  I really thought that I was speaking with moy.  After many hours remotely connected to my computer, my computer was worse than before that I called him shaped and $ 120.00.  I called AVG to complain and told me that I was probably being scammed and to check with my Bank and credit company to have all changed.  Of course, I took care of him.  The Bank assured me they would check on "GuruAid" and yesterday I received an email from them (GuruAid), say that there is no charge.

    I am never in a situation like this, once again.  My question is: How can I make sure I have need of aid is a legitimate technician.  Seems many companies can fool you into believing that you talk with a legitimate business.

    My question is: How can I make sure I have need of aid is a legitimate technician.

    Easy - contact them and not the reverse; This way you can check before using.

  • How can I make sure that any firewalls (versions of software or hardware) does not block port 443 to access?

    How can I make sure that any firewalls (versions of software or hardware) does not block port 443 to access?

    Hi Anna_753,

    Usually, you would receive messages from any program if it is impossible to access the port.

    If you want to check if the port is accessible, then you will need to check the firewall settings.

    Each firewall has its own parameters for ports of the computer.

  • How can I make sure that all components in my opinion have been instantiated to test

    I'm testing a view 'view', which has an ADG but the ADG is null.

    Try this code:

    view.adg.dataProvider = data;

    How can I make sure that all components in my opinion have been instantiated to test?

    private var view: UserManagement;
    [Front]
    public void Setup (): void
    {

    view = new UserManagement;

    }

    [Test]
    public function testSaveData (): void
    {
    var data: collection ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection();
    for (var i: int = 0; i < 1000; i ++)
    {
    var item: Object = new Object;
    element.isModifiedClientSide = Math.round (Math.random () * 1);
    data.addItem (element);

    }
    view.adg.dataProvider = data;

    }

    You have instantiated your view.  Usually, when I'm working with a view, mine looks like this

    private var myView:MyViewClass;

    [Before(async,ui)]

    public void Setup (): void

    {

    Bird = new MyViewClass();

    Async.proceedOnEvent (this, opinion, FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE, 500);

    UIImpersonator.addChild (bird);

    }

    [After]

    public function teardown (): void

    {

    UIImpersonator.removeChild (bird);

    Bird = null;

    }

  • Apps and PSE 6 program will not open.

    PES 6 program will not open in the start menu or Windows Explorer and editor and organizer applications will not open in Windows Explorer. All files are listed in US and will not empty. This has happened recently, after that I used the program a few years. Should I reinstall the program? If so, the catalog will have to be re-created? There are over 7000 photos in the catalog. I use Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Try to open Orgnaizer and editor-in-Chief of there respective exe with the Welcome screen running.

    Organizer: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Elements 6 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe

    Publisher: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Photoshop elements 6\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe

    Welcome screen: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Photoshop elements 6\Adobe Photoshop Elements 6

    PS: The two paths for the 64 bit OS. For use of the OS 32 bit: C:\Program Files

    If it does not help, try uninstalling and reinstalling PSE again. Uninstall/re-intall process will not suffer your catalog.

    Run the fix it from the link: Add/Remove Programs displays installed the tool incorrectly: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/266668

    Add to that, I suggest to run online virus scan and check if any malware or virus detected on the computer activity. You can run the scan for viruses online from the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

  • The upgrade from Vista to Windows 7: How can I make sure that I keep Microsoft Office

    A few months back I took advantage of this offer to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 for a discounted price. After that I downloaded the upgrade file, Upgrade Advisor told me that because I'm using Vista business and I was upgrade 7, that my computer would probably be home must pass through with a 'clean install', thus wiping my hard drive.

    That's fine with me, I could just move my documents and Favorites on an external hard drive. But I'm afraid that the upgrade will be wipe my Microsoft Office programs.

    I bought this computer a few years ago. I don't even know if I bought the program with office bundled with it, or if I bought it separately (and probably the discs are somewhere in storage).

    How can I make this update without losing Microsoft Office? Is it possible to confirm if my word has come with my computer or if I installed it separately. If it came with it, and I lose it, certainly there must be a free way for me to recover. Right?

    Any other advice for someone planning on the upgrade?

    Thank you!

    You're the one who knows if you installed Office.

    Office (Word, etc.) comes for free with Windows. you have to buy.

    If Office is preinstalled, it was a test.

    A clean installation will wipe everything.

    You cannot transfer programs.

    It needs to be reinstalled from the original media.
