I put a dvd rw drive in my computer to play music from the disk, formatted and cannot find the content of the dvd anywhere on the computer.  I accidentally delete the dvd?  When put the DVD back in my camcorder it's empty!

A DVD RW Formatting erases it.

  • the drive seem to have been partitioned by another utility and cannot be erased

I have a MBP with 2 SSD. Yosemite is running on the SSD that has been partitioned 1 TB to a 150 / 850 GB volumes.

I wanted to install Windows 10 using Boot Camp but after succesfully download Windows software support that I can not go to the next step where I have to choose a volume (Pluto). Wizard Boot Camp shows my SSD and when I chose the following warning is displayed:

"the drive seem to have been partitioned by another utility and cannot be erased."

I see that Pluto isn't GUID and maybe that's the problem, but there are already some data on the volume of 850 GB that I can't erase. Is there a way to fix this without destroying the data? I don't even know why Pluto doesn't have GUID in the first place...

    Thnx,

    G

You have two entries 'Pluto '. The outermost is a volume CoreStorage group, which has two volumes, one is named Pluto, the other is TerraNova. The 512 GB of Samsung is your second physical disk. The Pluto in the BC Assistant is the complete LVG, not only the volume of Pluto, which contains also of Terra Nova.

BCA does not support such a configuration on your MBP. You will need to backup your data or manually partition the disk and do a little terminal work, if you want to install Windows in this configuration. The second SSD will complicate it further. You may need to physically remove the disk non-windows in order to install Windows.

Your end of 2011 Mac does not support Windows 10 as described in using 10 Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple support . You will encounter problems of pilot.

  • My drive HARD 160BG has been deleted and loads of files off itself

    Hello
I had all my music and photos on my new hard drive, then one day they removed somehow themselves. Luckily I had backups of certain things, but not about this. When I copied stuff back it says you want to crush showing that files have been deleted actually not.

The files are not hidden files and they take place. When I select all the files it says the total is 38.8 MB, but just one of the only records was more than that. Anyone know how to recover these files.

    Help, please

    Hello Debra

It will be interesting to know which laptop computer Toshiba a 160 GB HARD drive.

Anyway: it's really not easy talk if someone reports on data deleted somehow themselves. In my opinion, you should ask a friend for help that has all this in front of him and can much better deal with it. On this way, we can only speculate and you won't be size just your time.

    Good luck Debra!

Cannot install network printer on Windows 7.  Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver.  All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions?  How can I fix it?
Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.

  • How to restore pictures that have been deleted from Lightroom, but not removed from the 'drive '?

How to restore pictures that have been deleted from Lightroom, but not removed from the 'drive '? Also, how can I restore photos after saving Lightroom. I started to remove some files and it removed ALL of them! I chose the option "cancel delete files" and them brought back, she says they are all "missing or offline. I tried to 'find' a different folder and it deleted the folder all together and now I don't know where he is. Help, please!

How to restore pictures that have been deleted from Lightroom, but not removed from the 'drive '?

You need a backup of your Lightroom catalog file before deleting the photos made. You have such a backup? If so, find the backup catalog, open it (double click on it) and then search for the photos you want and select them and then file-> export catalogue; Then go to your original catalog file, open it and select file-> import from another catalog and points to the catalog that you just exported.

If you do not have a backup of your catalog file, then the only thing you can do is to import the photos again, and Lightroom will treat them as totally new photos with no editing and no metadata provided by the user.

Moreover, the idea of importing photos into Lightroom and then later removing them to Lightroom should is limited to photos you will EVER want such a photos that are so overexposed or underexposed or blurred that they are essentially useless. The photos that you care enough to run a task on (including editing) should never be removed from Lightroom.

Also, how can I restore photos after saving Lightroom.

Is this the same problem as above, or another?

I chose the option "cancel delete files" and them brought back, she says they are all "missing or offline.

Is it possible that you actually deleted pictures from the hard disk, as well as from Lightroom? Anyway, Lightroom cannot find the photos and you first need to find photos on your hard drives and then direct Lightroom to the location of the photo on your hard drive, using these instructions Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

  • M6-1035dx Pavilion: clone SSD drive cannot locate the recovery Partition

I recently bought a HD 500 GB of SSD to replace the original that came with the laptop.  The SSD drive I bought is slightly smaller than the original one.   I used the cloning software is Macrium.  Partitions, I am interested in cloning are the HPTools and recovery.  Stand have been cloned successfully by the software.  I put the active recovery as well.

After swapping the drives, the system starts the HPTools immediately, but the options for the restoration part are "grayed out".  I can't access it.  I tried several times, and this is where I am stuck.  It seems that the recovery partition is not detected by the cloned HPTools.

I do not have the recovery DVD, but I have the original HD with partitions intact and they work just fine because I recently test the recovery process.

I missed well to clone the original HD somehow that the SSD is unable to detect the partition?  Maybe I missed a step?  The difference in the size of the hard drive causes a problem in the recovery process?  How can I remedy the situation and use my new SSD?

Thank you for all your advice.

Try the complete sector-by-sector disk cloning.  If you use Macrium, you will need a paid version. The free version just do enough for the advanced cloning procedure you need.  See the following web document to compare versions.

    http://www.Macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

BTW, an SSD detects nothing. This is the BIOS and the operating system that detects hardware, firmware and software.

You can use HP recovery media successfully on an SSD or not, that has at least 160 GB of capacity. Your 500 GB SSD certainly has enough capacity.

  • Cannot locate the drive HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CT21N ATA Device after format

    Hello

I am new to this so I'm sorry if I look stupid. I have an Acer Aspire 7745 G with the player above. Normally, I reformat my laptop every 6 months as a recommendation from a friend. Last month I got a virus and Kaspersky has taken care of her, but there was something else that kept install toolbars. In any case, I decided to reformat only since I was close to my schedule. I loaded the restore disc that I had to buy Acer. Come to find out it does not recognize the drive. Came with a blank CD notification. I tried all 5 disks from Acer and still the same error. I advanced and bought another set of recovery disks. Always the same question. In the end, I bought WIndows 7 home and tried this drive. The drive did not no more. I went to my office and copied the disc to complete installation on a USB Flash drive. I then force the PC to boot from that drive and installed WIndows 7 like that. Now, the player does not seem to read retail DVD, bluray discs, game to retail discs but do not read music cd or any other medium of CD/DVD burning and always used to read the disks from Acer. The disks it will read are verified to work on the desktop.

In the description of the material, it shows a Microsoft driver dated 06/21/2006 with a version of 6.1.7601.17514. It only gives me the opportunity to update the driver. I tried the Microsoft Mr. Fixit from their site and it won't fix it. I contacted Acer and they said that my phone was not guaranteed, and they can't help me. They have no drivers on their site for this drive and after that a few weeks of research, I can't find drivers or firmware. I found a site that said to delete the upper and lower registry filter and I did but still nothing. I have WinDVD 2010 Pro, Nero 11 Platimun, 4.8 installed PowerISO, do not know if these programs could affect it or not. Also, I thought that I could just copy these 5 discs to a USB Flash drive and try to do a restore that way, but I do not know multiple-disks-on-one-flash-drive procedures or withdrawal of the drive in the list of material and to force a reinstall but I fear (and with my luck so far) he won't return.  I don't know what to do, and it's frustrating. I was hoping that someone out there may have some ideas for me.

Thank you very much for any help, I appreciate it!

    John

I have trouble to imagine why you would format/reinstall every 6 months.

And as to why you should buy for a PC restore disks that came with win is beyond me, since no matter what PC that is pre-installed with win has a way to create the recovery disks provided by the PC manufacturer.

If the recovery disks provided by the PC manufacturer have been unable to locate the reader, you have a problem of basic material either the disks are defective (unlikely)

  • Driver updates - drivers have been exceeded

I have Windows Vista on this computer and I was informed that my drivers were updated.  Where can I get these drivers?  I tried Slimware Utilities but kept shut down my system so I cancelled them.  I don't know where to find these drivers.

    Hello

Don't answer on 3rd party programs you download from the Net that tells you the drivers are up to date, etc.

You must obtain the Software Driver from your computer or hardware manufacturer, not through Windows Update (with the exception of Microsoft put updated material), as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft leverages the hardware manufacturer 3rd party to provide them.

Access the site on your computer or equipment manufacturing > Driver and Software Support Section > search your computer or hardware model number > then your operating system > locate the correct drivers > download and install.

    Examples.

    Dell drivers:

  • Can I restore my laptop hard drive files that have been moved to my external hard drive (who subsequentally has stopped working)?

I cut and pasted and then a few important files from my laptop on an external hard drive. Since the external hard drive stopped working. Is it possible to find the files that have been moved?

    Thank you!

(More info: I tried to recover the files from external hard disk but it requires a physical recovery and would cost over $ 1000, which I did not; also unfortunately I don't think I created backup via the "backup and Restore Center" files in the control panel).

It depends on how long you have moved the files, and how the computer has been used since.

If you have Vista Business, Ultimate or enterprise, you can use the previous versions.

  • Is there a reason to save the original NEF files after import for the LR in the form of files 'convert to DNG?  Is there a reason to save the two versions?  The NAVE seems to have no further use other than too much hard drive space.

Is there a reason to save the original NEF files after import for the LR in the form of files 'convert to DNG?  Why save versions when the DNG is the original and the NAVE seems to just take remote hard drive space?

I see no reason to keep them, they take a lot of space, one of the reasons to convert to DNG is that they are almost 20% smaller than the ships.

But it is of course your choice...
