  Maybe this isn't the only way to have it fixed, but here's what I did. I uninstalled Lightroom. Then I renamed directories of Photoshop CS4 and CS5 by adding just one extra hyphen somewhere. Then reinstalled Lightroom. Given that the installer could no longer see the directories of Photoshop CS4 and CS5 under their own name, he finds the right directory CS6 and everything was fine. Problem solved.

  Please click on the first " Finder " icon on the dock (toolbar below) on your screen, in the left panel, you will see an option, click on 'Applications' on it.

  Under the present, you should be able to see Lightroom if it is properly installed.

  I have reactivated it as I had turned it off and it works, guess I'll try it for a few days now that I'm on 8.0. While the difference between what I ran on 7.0.1 this is I have reactivated earlier "McAfee Site Advisor" but then the main reason that I have no problems is that I avoid bad extensions.

  I see that it is not marked as compatible with 8.0 but many of my extensions are not anyway. I have
