???  I just installed Lightroom 5 from Amazon for my Mac with 10.10.1 software.  When I open it I get: "an error occurred when attempting to change modules.  It will not import pictures and has no side panels under the library.  What should I do?

  I have had to face since I started using Lightroom. Pictures import without a problem, but many pictures show no preview in the import screen and when I select ADD, or even copy. nothing happens.   Have a Mac Book Air with Lightroom 4 full download on board. Just got an iMac. Wanted to load 4 Lightroom on iMac. Took the Adobe download file off the Mac Air and tried to load it on the iMac.   There was an old Installer bug which could be related.  If it works in own account, copy the files back may work.

  Save your copies of the following files/folders from your user account and then copy backup versions of the proprietary.

  Macintosh HD / users / [username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Lightroom /.

  Macintosh HD / users / [username] / Library / Preferences / com.adobe.Lightroom4.plist

  Pilot78 I have a solution for you!

  Go to the following folder: /Users/ [user name] / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom

  Then press control, click the lock icon, go to permissions, do read and write access to all.

  For me, which did the trick. Stupid that Adobe didn't help me on the phone with this, the support rep was actually rather rough.
