I just installed microsoft office home and student 2010 and need to know what program to define associations

I just installed office microsoft family and student 2010, when I tried to open a word document to my email he asked me to set up a program of certification association, tried to change the program, but none of the programs it gives me a choice of work to open it.  What should I do? Where and what program should I choose?

Lei

1. right click on the .doc file > click Open with > click on Microsoft Office Word
If you have not opened with option in your context menu, please use this tutorial to install it. Open with option is VERY useful.
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/140508-context-menu-enable-disable.html
Use One - via download.

2. this one is more elaborate.
Start > default programs > associate a type of file or Protocol with a program > wait loading > under a name that is at the top on the left, scroll down to find .doc > until it clicks > look all right > under current default, he should tell Microsoft Office Word...
If it is not the case, click on change program... top > search for Microsoft office Word and click > OK when finished.

Note: If you have problems with file association, use the same method and set the program appropriate for your current default this file extension.

The article of James has referred to almost always fixes this error.  The code you posted here indicates that installing the .NET Framework is the incorrect version or corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.  Did you uninstall and reinstall .NET Framework, as prescribed by section of the knowledge base?

So I have the product key... now what?  Where can I get the key?

Product key Office cards are generally good to install Office on a single computer. If you already use the key to install on another computer, you must first uninstall it from the 1st computer before installing the other computer.

  • Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 Setup has stopped working...

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron E1505 with Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium operating system on it.  I have all the updates/service Pack installed on it and I'm updating.  I use Microsoft Security Essentials for my anti-virus program, windows firewall for my firewall and windows defender as my software anti spy.  A few days ago I reinstalled Vista to do a clean install in order to restore my computer to its factory settings or the State.  I did this cause I wasn't able to get office 2007 installed or working properly, there are several problems I encountered.  So I reinstalled Vista and my computer works great now so I've updated everything that I could and then I tried to install Office 2007 on it with my installation CD and it comes up with the validation code and I type in and it works and it starts installing Office but at the beginning of the installation, it closes and a little window appears 'Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 setup has stopped working' and It must be closed.  so I am not able to do anything with it at all.  is there something I can do?  would it be a bad CD? I don't understand.  I was able to get a new cd and just use my old product code to validate?  Help, please!

I tried a few random things like get rid of AVG Free and adding to the security suite from microsoft, and by installing a high date, that I had to use the seven update analysis tool.  After I rebooted then am Office to install perfectly and all updates worked too.

  • Installation of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 is approximately 70%, then crashes with an error "1719 net server not available" in Windows 7.

Original title: How can I fix the Win7 Installer

Is there a way to repair just the installer on Win7?

Trying to install MS Office Home and Student 2010 on my Win7 machine is hopeless.  Installation is approximately 70%, then crashes with an error 1719 net server are not accessible, referencing me to the Win7 installer itself.

I have little if difficulties to install other applications and the only other solutions I've seen online say to reinstall Win7, and I'm not about to go there, then reinstall all my other applications just to do Office work.

    Hi Odee,

The problem is most likely a corrupt Windows Installer problem.

In addition to the suggestion of BurrWalnut , please make sure that the Windows Installer service is enabled.

    Step 1:

The Windows Installer service can be disabled on the computer.

    a. go to "Start "-> "run ", type "services.msc " and press the "Enter " key.

    b. double-click on the service named "Windows Installer ".

    c. check the value the "start type: " field. Is currently set to "Disabled ", then that's the problem. Change it by selecting 'Manual ' in the menu dropdown.

    Step 2:

Now, Uninstall all traces of Office applications and the reinstall it.

If you are unable to uninstall, use this link to uninstall.

  • Buy Microsoft Office home and Student 2007

I bought the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 for my laptop to buy full license. I received the confirmation email. The money has been debited to my credit card. I was able to download the program on the internet from Microsoft. Everything works very well. On the confirmation (as dated 26 May 2008) e-mail, it says "PHYSICAL PRODUCTS you will receive a separate e-mail notification when your products have shipped. However:

-In the 3rd quarter of 2008 my computer crashed and had to re - install everything new. When I tried to enter my product key (from my confirmation email) it wouldn't work. If since the 3rd quarter 2008 I do not have Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007.
-I did not receive the physical product and does not separate email notification.

    Can someone please.

Where you downloaded the version of student Office was that of Microsoft, or a less reliable source?

Have you tried to temporarily disable the software Anti Virus and other security type of execution, to see if, perhaps, they were causing the problem not being able to get the key for product is TICKING?  You can also try to remove all trial versions and any other failure installs automatically on your machine.  Clean your Temp files, launch Disk Cleanup too and once more to get your version of Office to accept your product key.  This program might be useful.

  • Product key for microsoft office home and Student 2007 is the wrong type of key. Cannot validate the license.

I bought a pc laptop hp Pavilion dv2000 model in September 2007, of the circuit city which is no longer in business here. I used the microsoft office home and student software that was previously installed a dozen times. Whenever I go to use it it asks me to enter a product key of 25 characters for the license validation. I tried to enter, it accepts all characters except the last. I don't think I should pay for the support, I bought a software that was supplied with the pc. HP is no help because my one year warranty has expired. Microsoft wants to sell me a support package. The message said after 25 times to log on to the program without posting, I lose complete access. Does anyone have a solution to this problem I have? I have windows vista Home premium.

Microsoft Office does not come with a free version of Office installed; He never has.

What you have / have had a free trial of Office on your laptop.

The figure of 25 product key on the bottom of your laptop is Vista product key, not the trial Office of one.

You can buy Office, to use it. Mick Murphy

  • Impossible to get a clean install MS Office Home and Student 2010

Running Windows 7, 64 bit, on a new HP Pavilion dv6-1149wm.  The CD Microsoft Office Home and student 2010 that came with our new laptop HP was sealed & in excellent condition. The product key is good and when the installation is complete, all looks like the suite is running... But... MS Access, Outlook, and Publisher open as 'demo', with 'outdated date', and then the program stops.  Nowhere on the packaging, or on the screen it says these three programs have not were included in our purchase... it's a full CD Version of MS Office home & student 2010 included with our new HP laptop.

After only a partial installation, we had MAJOR problems, it do Uninstall... had these error messages like: "problems with the registry", a "matter of WOW64", "keys to registry corrupt Patch" and "corrupt or missing patch cache".   Finally found a version of Mr. Fix - it on the MS site that seems to have everything removed (uninstall program was no help at all)... and then ran my Max registry cleaner (he finds plenty to fix).  Back to the drawing board, and I am SO afraid to try the installation "another one".

I spent countless hours in the last 3 months in trying to get out.  Is it possible there is a factory setting on my PC which is not driven out of the trial on these 3 programs and prevents proper installation?  I totally liked my HP Pavilion Desktop Windows XP... and would have never replaced she had not "upwards of"n"is dead"... and until now Windows 7 has not measured up to - not even close!

    Thanks for ANY help!

    Hello

Unfortunately, "Home and Student" edition only comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and One Note.

During the installation, you should have an opportunity to not install these trial versions.  That could help your installation problems.

"  I removed the trial version of the same version of the same and also microsoft office 2003 successfully.  I also followed the procedure of 'http//support.microsoft.com/kb/927153' of Microsoft to delete the Rgstrtn.lck file and then I restarted the computer and then tried to install the software mentioned above and I still get the same error message.  What should I do now?  I don't want to lose the $170.00 I paid best purchase of the product (that I can't install it on my computer).  Can someone help me?
