  Easiest is to copy the files with a USB key, but the most elegant (IMHO) is across the network. Just join each machine to your homegroup, and you can copy back.

  FWIW... If a picture was crushed (replaced), it is unrecoverable.

  Try to use a script to process your PDF as Image, or Image Processor Pro image converter processor.  These script can open a PDF with PDF optrions to circumvent the pop-up.  I opened the PDF in Photoshop.

  Go to the Photograpsh and choose Photo => stacking => develop all batteries. Then filter on that keyword. If the image is not the top of the stack collapsed, it will not be found.

  -What the file type of the images you have on your IPhone 4?
  -Were the photos taken and stored on your computer or transferred to another phone to your IPhone 4?
  -You use other imaging as a printer or a scanner or webcam device?
   
  If so, it seems a known issue with such devices. Therefore, I recommend to uninstall the drivers or disable these devices, then connect IPhone 4 and transfer pictures to your computer and check if that helps.

  The simplest thing to do would be to use a lightning of Apple to the HDMI connector and switch the ATV.

  If you follow the path of the ATV, you need a Wifi network to allow function Airplay.  You can use a hotspot to support this.

  I suggest that you try the hotspot at home by connecting ATV and see what happens.

  I personally bought the adapter and try that as well.  If you don't finish like the solution of the adapter, the Apple Store has a 14 days with no questions return policy.

  Your workflow is erroneous. I would recommend that use you the Photos app to manage your photos and if you then want to upload them to a social network like Facebook, or else others you can do so directly from the Photos app. This way you can manage your photos and share those you want easily. If you use any Photos now, you're a great DIS-service.

  OS X is much more elegant and more simplified MS Windows has never been, unfortunately, you have not discovered what OS X features to do so.
