I lost my ability to scan from my hp 2355 all in one on vista

My printer error message says I have to download my software from my cd scanner, but my cd is not compatible with my Vista

This all started by a faulty color cartridge that did not communicate with my computer!  But, before I realized what it was and has got another to replace it, I uninstalled all my printers and software.  I got the installation cd so I was concerned not to charge back.  However, when I put the CD it would not complete the installation and gave me an error messge.  Finally, I looked at the CD and found no mention of its use in Vista or OS later.  Now I was in trouble.  Then it took me forever to get the drivers scanner and the scanner re-installed software.  I finally got done TI throough the HP site.  Hooray!  Thanks for the comments.  Lorraine

Review HP support site, or use diagnoses of HP, a shortcut to that would probably be on your desktop (if you installed according to the instructions from HP, their cd and does not just plug the printer)

  • Scanning with HP PSC 2355 all in one printer/scanner/copier.

You want to scan multiple pages into a pdf file?  The 3rd party below program works with most scanners.  It sells for $ 29.95.  You can download a free 30 trial to try out it if you wish.  (I looked for a program free and tried a bit, but none were any good.)

  • Problem scanning with HP Officejet 5610 all in one

I have problems with the scanning of documents.

Computer is Mac OSx Version 10.8.5 operting.

I use to be able to analyze only the documents that have been placed on the glass and I would press the button "scan" on the printer and the document would scan to my counter top.  I could not scan several pages by feeding in the upper part of the printer.  It was with my old Mac operating system.

Recently, I had the SW on my MAC update to OSx.  Now I can go into the settings of the printer and scan several pages unless I have a document in the feeder at top of the page.  But I can not put a single item on the glass, then press scan.  I get the error message is 'no scan options.  Refer to the documentation for the device to trobuleshoot.  Press ok. »

    Any help?

    Hi pbeachiii,

I'm sorry to tell you that HP does not provide driver support of technologies for analysis of your product on the Mavericks.  This solution does not provide support for the scan on the printer button.

You can ensure the best experience with your product by accepting the Apple software updates so that you have the latest available print and scan drivers.

Use the Image Capture or preview applications to begin analysis of your Mac.  With one of these applications, you should have the ability to scan from either the glass of the scanner or the document feeder.  You just need to specify the source for analysis as a parameter in the scanning software.

    Hope this helps,

  • HP psc 2355 all-in-one: PSC 2355 all-in-one scan, but not print

The printer was purchased at a garage sale may be a few years back. It scans perfectly fine, but it will not be printed. I tried searching the Web for drivers and uninstalling/reinstalling it, even the installation under another pilot as series 2300. The closest driver that appears is 2350 series. Windows Update crashes when I try to get to find the drivers more.

Print a test page once, he hasn't done anything since then except to give me errors on the printer LCD. I have only a black cartridge in it because I don't need color, but I doubt that's the issue.

From the looks of things, this is a common problem... I saw a post where someone has too, but nothing has worked.

I am running a computer portable 64-bit windows 7, home premium and USB connection.

    Hey @TKStall,

Thanks for getting back to me with the error messages.

The value 0 x error messages you see on the screen of your PSC 2355 all-in-one indicate a hardware failure in your printer ink system. Because the errors seem to be intermittent at the moment it is you may chance using your printer for a little longer. However, there is a hardware failure occurring within the printer and for this reason, there is a chance that your printer may stop working at any time.

Troubleshooting steps for error 0 x can be found here. But, as you can see one troubleshooting step is to perform a power reset on the machine. If the power reset does not clear the error state that a replacement of the entire unit would be necessary.

Try to install your printer using the driver PSC 2350. However, if the error messages continue to appear on your printer, I would recommend reaching out to the Technical Support queue by phone about the options for replacement of material. Due to the age of your printer, you may have the option to update your PSC device for a newer model at a reduced price.

HP Technical Support can be reached at the: 800-474-6836.

  • HP 2210 printer all-in-one: after updating WIndows 10, I can print but not scan with my HP 2210 all in one

I've updated to Windows 10 and since then I can print but not scan with my HP 2210 all-in-one printer.  I tried to download the software updates, but nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions

    Hi @Sajapand @ddegan

I see that you both scan problems after upgrade to Windows 10, and I may be able to help.

Most of the products have updated software available on the HP support Web site for Windows 10.

I also saw a few posts that say Windows 8.1 driver works for Windows 10 as well, then you could try also.

HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan doctor to diagnose and troubleshoot printing and scanning problems. I recommend you to download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor , if she doesn't fix it automatically I would know what errors or messages that you receive.

  • PSC 2355 All In One - used to scan

I had to uninstall and reinstall my PSC 2355 All In One Printer because the scanner was not working. I downloaded the 'simple' version and the printer is fine, but I cannot scan stall. Should I uninstall again and download the 'full' version' - who would do it or not? I know that I can open Paint and scan from there, but I'd rather work on the printer itself - someone help? Thank you very much in advance.

With the simple version just the scandriver is installed, so you will need a party 3thrd like a paint program to scan. To have the features you want, install the full software of features indeed.

  • How to scan using the HPDeskjet 1510 All-in-One-Series

I Don t know how to scan in a HPDeskjet 1510 All-in-One-Series. Please help me to scan with this printer

The method for analysis is based on the operating system you are using. Here is a page that lists the different instructions based on OS.

  • After the transition from XP to Windows 7, I lost my ability to scan and fax.

When I go to the interface of the software (on my desktop), instead of being able to set up a scan and save it to a document, I now get a message that my installation of the software is incomplete.  He tells me that I have to connect via USB to complete it, but when I do this it seems to return to the original XP drivers, and I've since upgraded to Windows 7 drivers.  How to get out of this endless loop and recover my ability to scan?  And I already tried using HP diagnostic tools AND tried to remove and reinstall the update downloaded drivers.  Nothing seems to update this software interface on my desktop - the farthest, I get with it is a runtime error.  Any ideas?

I tried to reinstall again and somehow got beyond the Runtime error (no idea how).  Now, scan and fax are back (yay) but the scan will make only a single page and then it shows a mistake and said it should be stopped.  However, I can deal with that at thispoint.     Thank you!!

  • * Scan to * on Officejet L7555 all-in-one

The button scan to on the L7555 be able to invoke a scan without having to go to the selected computer, and then click Scan? I just installed the complete Version 14 software for this printer on your desktop Windows7 64 bit. Now, I see the new PC as a place to scan to available on the printer. But when I choose that PC and select this option to create a PDF document, the printer just sits there, saying: "awaiting scan. On the PC, I get a prompt indicating that scan in PDF format has been selected, but I must also click Scan on the PC before the scan occurs. Is it possible to configure the software on the PC so that the scan happens as soon as I choose the type of PC and file from the buttons on the printer?

    Thank you.

It was actually an option in the solution center to change this. If you open the solution Center on your computer, navigate to settings-> settings of scanning-> front panel scan button settings , it must be 2 notches there. If both are unchecked it will simply send the scan on your computer, if one is checked then you will need to confirm the settings of your computer every time you scan from the printer and if only the second one is checked, you will have an overview of scanning on your computer before it saves.

    I hope this helps!

  • Scan with a HP 5610 all in one

    I have a HP Officejet 5610 all-in-one.

After I turn it on and press the button "Scan" of the Control Panel, I get the Message 'No. Scan Options' and I can't further with the sweep. Installation copy works OK. I also tried to disconnect the device from the mains for more than a minute and then reconnect. But all the same.

Does anyone know the solution to this you problem?

    RTL

    Hey ricmalta,

I see that you have an Officejet 5610 and the scan settings have been reset on the printer.

What is the operating system of the computer connected to the printer?

How do you have the printer attached to this computer?

You have the full software functionality for the 5610 installed on this computer?

I would advise to take a look at the document below the link to get the procedure to resolve this problem.

A 'no. Scan Options' or "scan settings are not defined" Message displays on the all-in-one

Let me know how it goes,

  • Cannot scan computer with J611 of all-in-one HP Deskjet 3050 a

    I use WIndows 7.

I can scan from the all-in-one HP Deskjet 3050 a J611 assistance from the control panel.

I was able to run a scan of the computer. But now when I select the icon on the desktop to my all-in-one HP Deskjet 3050 a J611, I see more scan options.

    Shane,

I connected with a USB cable and everything works now. It is not convenient, but it's a solution. It's still a mystery as to why he's working for a few months and then suddenly stopped working.

In any case, thanks for the follow up several times and find a work around.

I'll provide Bravo and mark this thread as provided solution!

  • Scan to computer HP4620 e-all in one

I can't get my HP e-all in one 4620 to scan to my computer.  Message from CRO is not connected.  How can I fix it?

    Hey brisinger48,

I see that you have a problem with your printer with a Scanner error code.  This thread was originally on an Officejet 4620.  Is this the same printer model you have?

About the error code, this error is normally an indication of a failure of the scanner lamp in the printer.  If you receive this error message, so I recommend following the steps in the document following the link.

A "Failure of the Scanner" Message appears on the all-in-one control panel and you can not scan, copy, or fax

If troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, then the question is in the lamp in the scanner hardware.  I would advise calling Technical Support from HP on this printer in this case, if the printer is under warranty. • How to use the scan on a 4215i function all in one printer

How to use the function scan with this printer with windows 8. I did the installation but the scan function is not wwork

You have the printer Officejet 4215 all-in-one?

If so, then there is no complete features in the printer driver.  The printer is using the Windows printer drivers Update menu.  For more information on using the driver from Windows Update, click here.

You have this printer connected via USB?  If so, then there is workaround methods to get the printer to scan, as the old software package is not available on Windows 8.  In the above linked document, scroll down to the section on how to scan with updated driver for information about how to perform these types of scans.  I hope this helps.
