  • Lost my desktop icons!

I have a laptop Equium A60 and lost all the icons on my desktop. I can find them by going via start, programs. Any ideas on how to recover my office?

    Hello

Your question seems very strange and I can t believe that the icons are hidden with no intervention.
I think that you have accidentally disabled the option show desktop icons.
In any case, please right-click on the desktop and choose Arrange icons by
(I think that it s an option of fist on the top of this menu) Then you should see the option called show desktop icons. Please turn it on.

After this procedure, all the icons should reappear.

    First try the easiest method:
Right-click on the free space of the desktop > click View > click on the Show Desktop icons.

If that's not the answer, try the following suggestions...

1 do a system restore. Choice of date where all your desktop icons were present and functional as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type System Restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

    2. rebuild your cache of icons:

  • Since the update to version 8.0.1 many Web sites have lost their identity icon.

In the address bar and bookmarks, many web sites have lost their identity icon in Firefox 8.0.1 (that were there before). Now the cursor over the area of the icon reveals a message stating "this site does not provide identity information. But this message is also up by placing the cursor on a with an icon. Some sites have the icon in the bookmarks, but it does not show in the address bar. I found that this does not happen on Vista laptop, only on the Windows 7 desktop.

Checking all my favorites icons, I found that some are still there AND by revisiting SOME sites, I restored the icon from the list of bookmarks.

It did not work with each other, but some sites don't have a favicon.ico img on all their pages.

Still a few sites that I KNOW has icons before are not displayed to the top.

    Hi Geoff,

    1. Remember to make changes before this problem?
    2. You get the error message?

These problems may occur if there are corrupted or incorrect keys in the registry.

    Method 1

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • I lost my desktop in Windows XP Home Edition.

I lost my desktop in Windows XP Home Edition. The only thing on my monitor is my wallpaper. There are no icons, toolbars, task bars, and I can't right click for properties - nothing happens.
I can access some programs through the Task Manager. But there must be a program, so I can't access my desktop in this way. I ran diagnostic programs, restarted in safe mode and file modified, has tried to return to a good Setup, ran a CHKDSK, used Norton Go-Back and so much, I can't even remember. And my DSL modem is unable to connect to the internet more. Help!

Thank you for your message.  Try the following:
Once you have started your computer and sees only the office, press "Ctrl + Alt + Del"
    Select "Task Manager"
Click "File" > click "new task (run)...". "> type explorer.exe in the field, and then click 'OK '.
Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.
