  1 original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Activation is also known under the name of OA. It's basically OEM activation of basic input/output system (BIOS) - which means that they have already activated and you don't need to enter the key and activate yourself.

  2. you will only be able to activate a copy of Windows 7 with the number of product key used for 64-bit or 32-bit version at the same time, not both. It will allow only a copy installed with him to be activated.   If the laptop is one of the well known brands, he may well have a restore partition.  If you do not have a manual to the user of this computer, then go to the manufacturers website and look for the documentation.  At the very least, you should be able to find information about how to restore the laptop from the recovery partition.

  If the restore partition has been decimated, the manufacturer may still have available for a nominal cost of installation diskettes.

  You can't say the product key.  If you use an Installation of Vista genuine disc it will install its own version to know the product key when you are prompted to enter (all versions of the same size of the bit are included on the authentic disc).
