I lost my passwords list in the security settings when I upgraded to Firefox 13. Why?
I use the portable version of Firefox. I was using Firefox 12. When I've upgraded to 13 all of a sudden all of my passwords and user names stored in the tab 'security' in the Panel options disappeared. I can restore or do I go through the task of your time to restore manually. I'm VERY upset. It is an upgrade?
Websites screen names and passwords reappeared in the section passwords to remember in 'Security' after you restart Firefox for the second time after the upgrade and my discovery of missing passwords. Weird! Weird! Weird...
I have a long list of passwords saved in the section passwords on the Security tab in tools > options. I changed my password for my browser, but the password still provides the former. How update the password in tools > options > Security > passwords?
You can start Firefox in Mode safe and check if one of your extensions is cause of this problem:
Hi, I have a Curve 9360 and I forgot the password for my Blackberry. Not enough, I also forgotten the answer to my security question. Is it possible to reset my password without answering the security question?
But when I try to login, I get the following error "enter the username associated with the smartphone.
You will need for security wipe the device first.
I know that you use the same email address, but it's actually a new BlackBerryID.

What are the security settings to lock a form with fields to fill and still allow someone drive to fill in the fields as as to save the form and print it?
You want to allow someone to open your document and fill in the form (the fields that you have created), but not change or edit the form, right? Here is the answer - assuming you use Acrobat Pro and someone will open the PDF with the Acrobat Reader 9 minimum and more:
Tools > Protection > encrypt< encrypt="" with="">
Select YES to change security.
Opens in a new window:
Do not select NOT open the Document (or will require a password to open the document.)
SELECT: Permissions (check the box next to ' Restrict editing and printing of the document. ")
Change the following 2 settings in the drop-down list box:
Printing allowed: select high resolution
Changes allowed: select commenting on, fill in the fields on the form and signature of signature fields
Selected leave: "enable access text for playback devices to screen for people with visual impairments.
Change password Permissions (insert a password)
Leave all the other settings alone in 'Options '.
OK - OK
Again enter the Permissions password (the one you entered above)
OK - OK
Save the PDF file to apply security [notice that (SECURED0 will appear after the title of the document]
I don't have a password on my computer since I don't don't need one. And in the past, I was able to enter the security settings and allow installation of non-apple software, leaving the field blank password and unlock the feature by pressing return.
I wonder now a password that I don't have, and if I had, I must have forgotten. I don't know what to do to get into the security settings.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Well - I found the answer to my own question.
It seems - so that you cannot use a password to connect to your computer, that when you want to deal with the security settings, the computer expects that you must have a password. In other words: you can not have a password.
I solved my problem by creating a password, then use it, and I was able to access the security settings and do what I had to.
Thanks to me.
original title: describe the security settings
Hi, I stupidly tried to change security settings on some of my documents, now I can't access then more... don't know what I've donebut would be able to open them again...
the files are stored on an external hard drive, but I always use the original laptop running xp... He is using that file names are now show green...
Thanks for any help you can give.
If the file names displayed in green, an indication that the files are encrypted using the Encrypting File System (EFS) in XP Pro. The encryption key to decrypt these files is stored in your certificate store on the machine/user name that originally encrypted the files. To access these files, you must connect to the original machine which them encrypted and access it using the same user. If the encryption certificate is lost or damaged, then you permanently lose access to your files. For more information, start with this article:
"Best practices for EFS file system.
As you have discovered, EFS can be dangerous. Use it carefully and always save your article above encryption certificate.
HTH and good luck,
I have a PDF file with many links between documents (links to pages viewed in another PDF format in the same folder). When users have these configured to open in the same window, the planned actions occur: the source document closes (or seems to close) and the destination document opens to display the selected page. However, once that we password protect PDF files, there is a strange behavior. When the back button is used to go back to the source document, it brings back the user appropriately; However, if the user has their pane bookmarks open in the source document, the security settings pane is opened instead when the back is used.
So, to summarize:
-Connection of the cross-document doc source to destination doc, preferences set for the latter to open in the same window.
-Source doc and doc of destination the two password protected.
-Initial view of these two documents is Panel bookmarks and Page.
-L' favorite user pane open in the doc from the source, click on the link between documents.
-Closed source of doc, doc destination opens as you wish.
-L' user press the 'back' button.
-Close destination doc, doc source reopens at the appropriate location - but the Bookmarks pane is now replaced by the Security Panel.
We would really like to find a way to avoid this; It is a pretty useless part for opening and the structure of these docs means that users will often view them with their bookmarks open. Is this a bug? Is there a setting that I can dig? We believe that this is not the case in Acrobat 9 (I can't confirm, but that's what my client says) but is happening in 10 and 11, as well as in the current version of the reader.
Anyone can shed some light?
Do not forget that you have here in the community of other end-users. Not the Acrobat team engineering.
as far as I know - it is built in the behavior. Similar to default to display in the thumbnail pane pages on the navigation when a page "insert" is made.
There is a certain logic to it, so it may have been deliberate. As an end user, I don't appreciate such. Some "assistance developer user staged" I can do without.

I have created several documents and converted to PDF. I just upgraded to v.9 and I'm having problems. I was previously using v.6 and could modify the security settings so that a person who views my doc had to know the password in order to print. I'm unable to change these settings in v.9. How can I get a document so that it does not print without a password that I select?
Also, is it possible to create a link? I used to create links all the time in v.6 but may not understand in v.9
Thanks for the help!
It is possible with Adobe Acrobat.

Depends on what you mean. Security preferences are located in the preferences panel security & privacy of system preferences. For Safari, open Safari preferences and click on the Security tab.
When I upgraded to Firefox 9.0.1 I lost many of my bookmark icons. Now the icons are just empty boxes. How can I get back my icons? Thank you!
