I'm locked out adim privileges

When I download a program and when I try to install it I get a message "that I don't have adim privileges to install this program.

The first step is to determine if you really have administrative privilege...

The quick test is to right click on 'Start '.  If one of the choices that opens in the window is "Open All Users", then you have administrator privileges.

Many installers will find that they (for some reason any) cannot create a specific file or write to the system registry to install their program.  When that happens, their instinctive reaction is to assume that you are not an administrator, and it shows the error.  Remember that the file permissions and easily adjustable folder such as even an administrator cannot access and that the real problem may be nothing to do with the question of whether or not you are an administrator.

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

  • Windows 7 has become my comments login and I'm locked out of admin

    Hello

I've been running W7 Pro 64 bit very happy for two months. When I installed, I made a user account for me with admin privileges (I'm the only user on this machine). All of a sudden yesterday I noticed that I could not do some things and on investigation found that W7 has become my admin account a guest one. Same account name, icon, the user files, but no right! I did nothing to cause it, as far as I know, it just happened. I don't think it's a virus, Kaspersky certainly is not report anything.

I tried to boot from the DVD and by defining the built in Administrator account, but that the command window told me that the command executed successfully, when I restart I see no administrator account. Because I'm the only user I had previously defined netplwiz to connect automatically and I can't disarm that - I just get a window saying 'entry password administrator to run netplwiz' but there is no password box, probably because that there is no administrator account on the system.

I seem to be completely locked out from changes to the admin of my system. First thing I will do when I get the machine working again, is to create an alternative admin account to use if it never happens again, but for now, I'm completely stuffed.

    Can someone help, please?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    TP

UPDATE: I booted in safe mode with command prompt and run lusrmgr.msc to view accounts. Administrator account is here, just can't see on login screens. I thought that the administrator password should be blank (or perhaps the same one that I put in place with my initial admin-level account), so I tried shift-right-click netplwiz and selecting run as another user, and then typing in Administrator and white as well as a selection of passwords possible. No joy. It does not accept any combination of names of users and passwords.

So, how to use the administrator account?

    Aaaaaargh!

I have fixed my problem on Windows 7 guest user.  The problem is after I added the computer successfully in my area, I decided to change the name of the computer. So I changed the name and the past of the domain to the working group. After rebooting I connected under the no original domain account, I created, but it was no longer a member of the administrator group and has been labeled as guest user account type.  I had not enabled the administrator account.

The solution: press F8 at startup for Advanced Startup Options.  Select the option 'Safe Mode with command prompt'.  I was given the opportunity to log on as an administrator, and I did.

I entered my orders, first to change the admin password then command to activate the administrator account:

"password net user administrator"-password the password to use.  (Password must meet complexity requirements)

"net user administrator / Active: Yes.

Computer restarted and I is presented with the option to connect as administrator.  Connected and managed to create a new account and add to the domain.

  • Establishment of an iPad after having been locked out but did not recall what is my Apple ID or password.

Basically, I'm trying to help my sister in law with his iPad. She had initially forgotten its password to enter his iPad and if she got locked out. I googled how to reset and so I have connected the iPad to a laptop and went through iTunes (without signature). Now that the iPad has been swept clean it is now the scene of reactivating...

I typed in the country, wifi etc and now he asks the Apple ID and password that was used to set up the iPad initially that she can't remember. She does not know what email address she used and she forgot her password. I searched for centuries now what can someone help!

Is still connected to the account anywhere so that she can get him? Or she has none of the downloads of the account in the computer's iTunes library so that it can do "get info" on them and see the id? If not already tried it: If you have forgotten your Apple - Apple Support ID ?

If she can still find, and she was the original purchaser of the iPad (i.e. he not was purchased used), she might try to go to an Apple Store (it should take an appointment-Genius Bar if she does) or try to contact iTunes Support Online (https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html) and see if they can remove the iPad on the account - they are likely to want to see proof of ownership before they could help for example an original receipt with the serial number above

If you don't remember the password, then you must restore the device to remove it. You can then restore the device to your last backup. If the device has been disabled as you say, then turning off and on again will not disable the old password, it will remain the same unless you changed it. Once the device is disabled, you will not be able to save. If you have synchronized the device to this computer in the past, linking can cause your power backup, depending on how many times you incorrectly tried to get into the device. If you have disabled it, you will lose your content.

I'm locked out of my ipod5 that I have not used for a long time, it is not connected to the Internet or iTunes is anyway can I unlock? In my opinion, it works on IOS8. • TrueSuite Fingerprint Software me lock out of my files!

    Help!

I use the TrueSuite Access Manager very happy five months for some of my files important protect from prying eyes. Suddenly, today, when I try to "unprotect" them, I get a message saying "Invalid"File Protection Key"". The fingerprint reader works fine and TrueSuite Access Manager accepts my footprint quite happy.

I am using Windows XP Pro. The only things that have happened since I last accessed files successfully was a download Microsoft Tuesday last week and my Norton Internet Security 2008 installation.

I really hope you guys can help ' cos I need to access these files.

    Steve

PS, I tried to restore to a previous system restore point, but they all fail...

Well, here is where I have to this day...

The TrueSuite Access Manager is provided by AuthenTec, but is actually just a rebadged version of the Password of ABIG software. The site Web of TrueSuite disappeared off the internet (although you can find one or two references to the fact that there were once). AuthenTec or ABIG offer any support whatsoever. So the only source of help is Toshiba...

I traced the beginning of my woes to an application error logged in the log of the events of Win XP - fingerprint software didn't. The description of the error says only: "prints notifier Application digital Suite has encountered a problem and needs to close." Large. The application error has somehow broken the link between fingerprints recorded and the key used to 'protect' all my files. Even having a back-up fingerprints was useless, because that was the link between the fingerprint identification system and the file system of Windows that was broken, not fingerprint information...

I rang the Toshiba help line, who recommended to download and install the latest drivers. What I've done. It made no difference.

I managed to roll back to Windows to a date earlier than the application error (the problem I had before which prevented me to restore the system to an earlier date was caused by Norton internet Security, a "known" feature). But even once it made no difference.

So where am I today? TrueSuite has lost the connection between my fingerprints and the key that he used with the file system Windows to protect my files, I was in turn locked out of all files. I can't access, copy, move them or delete them, BACK or Win XP. Toshiba recommendation is to use the provided with the laptop recovery disks and to reinstall Windows XP from scratch. Of course this will not return me my information, but at least it will remove all unnecessary files and free up the space occupied by them!

Lessons to be learned - if you use TrueSuite to protect your files, think twice. If you want to continue to do so, back up all your files before protecting them. Of course, the backup version of the file will not be protected fingerprint (bat rather the object of the exercise, is not...)

    Good luck.

  • Locked out of my iPad on lock due to restrictions of the child screen

When we use FaceTime we always allow child restraint (disabling screen etc) for our child can also facetime with family, preventing to end the call.

We just got a call, answered he, restrictions enabled by clicking the home button 3 times.

the call is completed on the other side, the iPad has jumped into the lockscreen.

But the restrictions of the child are still on. Outside of the FaceTime app.

but the lockscreen does not allow me to push the code to turn off the child lock.

So now I'm locked out of the iPad. all buttons and off screen.

Anyone an idea how to get back?
