I'm trying to reinstall Windows XP boot disk.

I'm trying to reinstall Windows XP boot disk. Won't work, he said a more recent edition is installed. Tried to restart from the disc and will not work. Reference DELL logo does not appear. Tried to format the C drive, no good no more.

Hello

1. What is the problem you are having with the Windows Xp operating system that is installed?

So an upgrade on Windows site, it is necessary that you have the same Windows components available on the computer as on the installation disc, until the exact Version.

The reason why you may receive this message could be due to.

a. Service packs have been updated

b. the Internet Explore may have been updated since the version by default XP 6 to Internet explorer 8.

c. the framework of shell and .net of power and other components can be updated.

Please follow the links below to solve the problem.

    Hello

    Thanks for joining us on the Microsoft Community.

    According to the description of the problem you are facing problems with reinstalling Windows XP Professional, and you are to be invited to insert the Service Pack 1 drive to complete the installation.

    To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

    1. did you uninstall Windows XP Service Pack 1 prior to reinstalling Windows XP?

    2. what was the installed Service Pack earlier?

    You may need to uninstall Windows XP Service Pack 1 first and then perform the reinstallation of Windows XP and to check if the installation goes smoothly.

  • I am trying to reinstall windows XP but when I enter my license key (from the label of origin on my computer) it tells me it is invalid

    I need to reinstall windows XP an accident which can be the result of a virus.  I get the blue death creen when I try to start.  I do not have my original windows disks but borrowed one from a friend.  I am trying to reinstall windows XP but when I enter my license key (from the label of origin on my computer) it tells me it is invalid.  If I don't have my original windows CD how can I get resettled windows?

    The borrowed XP CD is not the correct version of your product key. Since you have a label on the computer, or you have an OEM brand computer (Dell, HP, etc.) or on a generic computer built.

    If you have a branded computer, contact the computer mftr. to get the recovery CD. otherwise you would need a XP install CD that was the same brand (Dell, HP). In these cases, the product key will not be registered during the installation process. The alternative is to use the product key on the COA sticker on the computer with a drive manufacturer OEM generic system. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

    Know what type of network card you have and download the drivers of its supplier.

    It doesn't matter what it is always a good idea before re-install/upgrade to log on to the computer support page, download independent drivers from there and put them on a flash drive.

  • Reinstalling Windows XP: Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: failure

    Hi all

    I'm trying to format my PC to reinstall Windows XP. I set the BIOS to select CD-Room as a first option, but when I restart the PC, instead of getting the message "Press any key to boot from CD", I get this "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: failure...» "and it starts to load Windows (who doesn't like then I get a black screen and can't do anything), but it won´t start the CD.

    I tried to insert the Windows CD in the DVD drive (I do not know if it would work), but when I press a key to boot from CD, I get a black screen with this message 'nocy zr intdis up trapdis', and then I can't do anything.

    The CD player works, as if I insert a music cd, for example, it runs. The Windows CD also works in the other PC. Any ideas how can I format my PC if the CD won´t run? Or ideas how to run if I get this message "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: failure...» » ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi I hope someone can help me, my lappy wont recognize the disk im (genuine) windows tries to use, disk is fine coz its been tried on other lappys and my fine coz of disk drives, he plays a different cd/dvd ive tried

    Beverley

    You may not use any dvd of Windows 7 to reinstall windows, unless it's a commercial version. Normally retail drives are limited to a single computer, so you need to uninstall your version of windows installed on the previous computer. You will need to change the order of the Boot sequence in the BIOS to boot from a Windows 7 disc, and that's probably why your attempts have failed.

    Reinstall windows using the diskette is not the way to solve your problems. Your laptop have will come with a pre-installed Windows version. What is this version of Windows and what is your mobile brand and model?

    Type system information in the search box above the Start button and press ENTER. Select file, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Please download your disk from sky to share and post a link here.
    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7itproui/thread/4fc10639-02dB-4665-993a-08d865088d65

    Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point.

  • I am trying to reinstall Windows Vista from my drive hard can u help me__

    I need some help tryin to reinstall windows vista from my hard drive, I went on the recovery program who was here and burned a cd, but none of the programs on my computer it open so I need to know how to reinstall it from my disk hard please

    You normally have to boot from the recovery disc:

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to perform a recovery of the recovery hard disk Partition.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    For any questions/problems about the recovery process, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the computer.

    Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but more likely--DO NOT.

    The update of Win10 has a bad history of corrupt recovery OEM as part of the upgrade information, and if that happens, without recovery OEM will work.

    What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media.  It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

    You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

    Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

    Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:
