  1. What exactly is the brand and the model no. your computer?
  2. What is the exact error message you get with regard to the scanner?
  3. You have any related records of driver scanner/printer to install the printer/scanner?

The question may arise if the full version of the driver from the printer model package isn't is either not installed correctly or has been corrupted.

In order to diagnose and solve the problem, I would say, try the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    I try to get the email function works with the M425dw of MFP HP LaserJet 400 direct scanning but have failed so far.

    To make this feature without a computer other than the WLAN router is required to run since I use the wireless option. However, the operating system of my laptop is Windows 7 Home Premium.

    By using the browser or the client of HP Toolbox to configure the built-in web server (EWS) and test the direct scan to email function works perfectly. I get emails in my Inbox that confirms that the configuration is correct. However, whenever I try to send a scan to email using the touch screen I see that messages saying that it connects with the mail (SMTP) server, sending to the e-mail selected, the last message on the screen indicates that the connection has failed and that I should try later but without success.

    I have the latest firmware installed, tried the ADF - without success. Scan to USB works fine.

    I hope someone has an idea of what to try to get this great work featured.

    I had to realize that the problem is not necessarily related to the printer. Even if, by executing a test by sending an e-mail with an attachment from my laptop using exactly the same email configuration succeeded.

    Anyway, once I changed the SMTP from a different provider that has worked.

  • HP 4500 Envy: Just installed my hp envy 4500, it won't scan in color when you use the pdf document.

    I just installed my hp envy 4500 with software updated and everything. When I scanned a page of letter United States using Documents with text preset (through the control panel of the printer or my mac using Hp scanning application) it comes out only in black and white. The only color work is if I use the 'General purpose' preset, but the resulting dimensions of the scan above the 8.5 x 11 format.

    From the #17 of its manual page:

    Scanning to a computer or a memory card
    You can start a scan to a computer from the screen of the printer or the software of the printer on your computer. From a scan of the screen of the printer is fast. An analysis from the software gives you more options. Before you begin the scan to a computer on the screen of the printer, make sure that the printer is connected to your computer via a USB cable or a wireless network.
    If the printer is connected to the computer via a USB cable, you can immediately start the scan from the printer screen.
    If the printer is connected to a Windows computer on a wireless network, you must enable the analysis wireless in the software first. In the start menu on your computer, click all programs, and then click HP. Series HP Photosmart 5510, click HP Photosmart 5510 series, click Actions of Scanner and then click on manage the scan to the computer.
    NOTE: You can choose to keep the always active computer option Scan and then you will not have to activate wireless analysis next time you start a scan from the printer screen.
    To scan to a computer or a memory card from the printer display

    c. close the lid.
    2. to scan to a memory card, insert a memory card into the memory card slot.

    Hi all, apologies if there is an answer to that somewhere, I took a look, and several people have had something similar, but without a clear resolution.

    I got a job p1102w successfully for about 2 years now and this week he suddenly won't print wireless. No recent changes to the network, no change to the printer, no changes to the computer.

    No luck with simple things so I reinstalled the printer (it works via USB), but when I get to the wireless network configuration steps I encountered a problem.  Automatically scan for wireless networks detects my home network, but by selecting translates "unable to communicate with any access point or wireless router using the provided SSID. The same error message occurs when you try to connect to a network wireless of my neighbors.

    Any ideas would be very appreciated.

    At this point, I would say that there is a problem with the card wireless in the printer.  Do you know if this printer is under warranty?

    Since it's Vista and you mentioned scanning using the solution Center, you won't find a copy of the analysis on the scanner.
    If you are sure that you have selected the scanning to a USB key on the computer, but the disk have the images scanned, maybe try to look in your "My pictures" folder, for things like picture001, image002, or maybe scan001, etc. or subfolders with a name of "day of the month. If none is found, I'm afraid, you must re-run the scans and this time, select a folder/disk with enough free space.

  • hp 8600 Printer Wizard automatically opens when a document is placed in the scanner glass?

    I recently bought a HP 8600 Pro multi use printer. When I place a document on the scanner glass or Peter assistant printer does not open automatically. It's a convenient feature on my previous HP printer.

    The wizard can be obtained by double-clicking on the desktop icon, but it's a bit bulky. I wonder if this feature was removed for some reason, or I do not know how to operate it.

    I am shocked that I can not find this information in the Adobe manual or the plug, or anywhere on their web site.

    Lightroom supports 8 bits per channel (24 bit color) and 16-bit per channel (48 bit color). However, it has no support for scanning. Therefore, you will need to scan your images using the software provided with the scanner or a third party alternative, then import images into Lightroom.
