- What version of Mac OS X are you using? OS x: find your OS version and build information.
- How is the printer connected? Wireless, or USB?
- Can you make copies with the printer?
- The cable is connected to a surge protector or directly on a wall outlet? Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.
- You can print a self-assessment report extended? Print a self-test report extended.

Thunderbird has worked perfectly on 9/3. This morning all of a sudden I can't send e-mail. The message is: an error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: authentication is needed before sending it [R0107005]. Please make sure that your e-mail address is correct in your e-mail preferences and try again.
I made no changes between 9/3 and 9/4
any help appreciated, have been using Thunderbird for many years.

Windows mail was working fine until about 2: 30 EST 2011-12-14 and tried to send an email and got the above error msg.Check with your mail service provider to make sure that there is not an intermittent interruption of service. If you have webmail capabilities, you can also check. Otherwise, compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and if that doesn't help, remove your e-mail account, close and reopen WinMail and then add it back back. Also check 3rd party program interference such as antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).

I could solve this problem. I removed the Yahoo account since the mail app and then it added back as if it were new. At least for the moment, which seems to have solved the problem and I can send by e-mail. I'm still puzzled why it happened, but maybe I should be glad it is fixed with minimal effort.
With respect to the application of mail, I love because it is bigger and clearer to read and use than using IE page. Yes, IE works, but it's just a little small and so be more careful when clicking, etc. More difficult to use the IE window without a mouse or a stylus. I normally use a mouse but occasionally led her to use the keyboard with no mouse on the screen and find my fingers are clumsy to hit the right spot. The mail application is therefore easier in this regard. But I agree IE works fine.
