Hi GLENNGRAHAM_576,

Go ahead and try a restore of the system on the machine and check if that helps.

That would simply not work well on a long term basis. Good backups using redundant methods is
    a very good idea.

commercial 3rd party like RegRun (save a profile) can do these. Make sure and check with their

  • Lenovo Y500 close unexpectedly - does not install Win vista/7/8

    Hello friends

It is Anubhav Jain of Mathura (India). I have a lenovo 3000 Y500 laptop with Win Vista Home Basic, I bought about 3 years, to 1 last year all about I am facing a problem with my laptop. The problem started when I tried to open an attachment in my email. At the time when I clicked on the file to my laptop shuts down suddenly (seems certain virus was in it). Even after trying the key recovery option, it has not begun. Then I tried to install Windows XP and it started working.

    Now the problem is

1 - when I try to install over XP is Win Vista/7/8 while in the middle of the installation, it stops. This means that it is impossible to install any other OS then XP.

    2. up to a few months back it worked fine under XP, but last month the problem began under XP also. Mean while I'm working it will suddenly off. If I try it, as soon as it shows the home screen, that would once turned off. But if I open it after some time then she start and run for a few hours.

    3. even under XP if I try to install MS Office 2007 or above the same thing occurs for example, just after the progress of the installation of small the laptop suddenly shuts off and will not let me intall Office 2007 or a later version.

Is this due to a malware or overheating of motherboard problem. I formatted the entire hard drive and tried installing after removal of partitions and making new partitions.

I ask you all to guide me please. Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards

    Dear SE Soha,

Thank you very much for your answer. I had already tried what you suggested. But not resolved. Yesterday I took my laptop hardware engineer and diagnose after he was identified as a chip in the motherboard was faulty which created this problem. After replacing the laptop started to work well. It was not a software problem, it's a motherboard problem. But the sad part is that there is not any guarantee for such repair of motherboard and next time if this same problem this laptop will have to be trashed. Rest is up to God's blessing.

Thank you very much for your support.

  • Im going to install Windows 7 pro, MSDN AA school. I have on my laptop Win Vista Home premium OEM. Is it possible to install this

Win 7 install on Vista oem laptop computer

Hello. Im going to install Windows 7 pro, MSDN AA school. I have on my laptop Win Vista Home premium OEM. Is it possible to install this, when all my drivers and other stuff for laptop is on the OEM vista recovery disk? So my laptop limited only the preinstalled Vista OEM?

    Hi Lukas.

In many scenarios, the drivers Windows Vista will work perfectly under Windows 7.
You should not have problems their site installation:
  • Scan to folder installation network - Win VISTA Home Premium

Printer is HP Officejet Pro 8600

When I try to install the Scan to folder network on a desktop computer running Win VISTA Home Premium Web page displays the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".  There is no option to continue anyway.   Under Tools > Internet Options > security all parameters have a default value.

On my old laptop under Win XP SP3 and newer laptop running Win 7 Home Premium, when I run the analysis of the installation of the network folder, I have to continue, and then configuration page will become available.   Under Tools > Internet Options > security settings are set to default.

I'm curious to know why I can't have analysis of screen network on Win VISTA Home Premium system folder but I can do on both other systems?  All three computers are on the same home network.

P.S. as for the Scan to E-mail Wizard, which gives the message that this option is not available on my printer, however on the touch of 8600 printer screen option is there and he tells you how do it.  Scanning to Email app also allows me to scan to e-mail.

Initially this feature was not mentioned on all models of the 8600, just the models more and premium that you note. However, due to the overwhelming popularity of this HP feature published scanning to email app for the majority of printers who have access to web services.

I hope that answers your question!

  • Cannot install old software under Win 7

I just bought a Win 7 laptop to remove or replace a desktop XP computer. Initially, it came with Win 7 Home Premium. I could not install an earlier version of the software Quickbook, who previously installed and running well under XP or Vista.  See in-store technicians; they all recommend the upgrade to Win 7 Professional so that it can run the program in XP mode. After this upgrade, I can not install the software.

QuickBook Setup starts with run 'install' which is supposed to launch setup.exe. the latter is supposed to install Quickbook under Win 7 Professional.

I appreciate any help from this forum! More recent Quickbook ranking would be simple, but for the fact that the data file is accessible from many other user/computer with earlier versions of Windows. Old QuickBook does not recognize the new Quickbook data format.

    Windows XP Mode is installed?

Please note that Windows XP Mode is a separate instance of Windows to be installed first, and then you need to install the software inside Quickbooks, which will then run the application from Windows 7. The following article will show you how to set up Windows XP Mode and how to virtualize your application (ignore the part about setting up hard assisted virtualization)

  • Problem installing Win Vista of SuperDrive

After the installation of Fusion 2.0.6 I then install Win Vista by inserting the CD in one of the two SuperDrive on my PowerMac.  It does not recognize one of the two disks.  In the technical session of this Forum, I found how to fix this problem by changing the VMware configuration file.  Still not solve my problem by changing to IDE0 or SCSI0 for four parameters.

Can someone help to solve more high question on how I can get the merger to recognize one of the burners so that I can install Win Vista?  Thank you.

    More information:

    Mac OS X 10.6.1

Fusion 2.0.6 (I don't think that this problem is au.6 as I had the same problem as avec.5)

Mac Pro 8-core 2.26 Hz with 16 MB memory

    Thank you.

    fwlun wrote:

Cannot install VMware Fusion on a PowerMac because it is not based on Intel, which is a requirement.

You shouldn't have to change the CD/DVD from IDE to SCSI under VMware Fusion to install Windows Vista and if for some reason you cannot get the disc to use the physical disk and then make an ISO Image and use it to install as it is actually faster and that is including the time to make the image.

    =================

Note: When you use utility disk in order to have a bootable ISO Image, you must select Master CD/DVD without encryption in which case by default, it will have an extension .cdr file and in version 1.1 of the merger and later does not need to be changed in .iso, although one can if one chooses to. A default .dmg image is compressed and is not bootable, as an uncompressed .dmg will start if changed in .iso and of course the source CD/DVD should be bootable in the first place.

To create an ISO Image using disk utility...

1 insert the CD or DVD disc into the optical drive of your computer.

    2. open disk utility (/ Applications/Utilities/Disk utility).

    3. Select the CD or DVD drive in the list of disks and volumes.

    4. Choose file > new > "Disk Image from (name of the disc)."

    5. type a name for the disk image.

    6. choose "DVD/CD master" from the Image Format pop-up menu.

7 choose "none" from the encryption pop-up menu.

    8. click on save.

After you have made the ISO Image and then eject the disc source from the optical drive.

Then, set the ISO Image as the CD/DVD in the leaf of the parameters of the Virtual Machine.

Take a look at: VMware Fusion menu bar > help > VMware Fusion help > managing Virtual Machines > configure the CD/DVD drive

How can I install my Bluetooth PCMCIA (PA3053E) card under Win XP?

You have the latest Bluetooth driver? If this isn't the case, you will need to download it on the Toshiba site for your machine. After you download the driver, make sure that you install the Bluetooth battery before connecting your PCMCIA card. Once the installation process is finished, insert the Windows XP PC card will handle the rest, that is, it will install the PC card automatically.
