I need BIOS update for Satellite Pro M70 (PSM75E), but only for the BACK

Hello world

Help me!! I'm looking for driver for BACK Bios M70. Does not exist, only for windows and my cell phone is dead.
Bad news, because after 3 minutes, stop!

So I have only one solution (with the diskette bootable cd).
So I need the dos version of the Bios

Thank you

This version is not available on the official support page so only one chance to get it is to contact Toshiba service nearest and ask for help.
Sorry, but I don't see another option for traditional BIOS.

Hmm, the laptop passes the MESSAGE correctly and it stops during the initialization of the operating system. Is this good?

Well, in this case I would exclude the RAM to malfunction.

I put t also think that it's an overheating problem because the laptop should work a little longer until it would be closed due to high temperature.

What about the HARD drive malfunction? Are you sure that the HARD drive is ok?

In my opinion, you should check the HDD and maybe try another.

I bought my dad a Satellite Pro M70 for his birthday and it was used for about 3 months. All of a sudden without any reason that it not power up if it is not connected to the AC. The battery registers itself as 100% charged.

    Hello

This problem appears at the beginning?
Sounds a bit like electroninc power supply malfunction and in this case, you should always ask the service provider to Toshiba for assistance.
Don t worry, seems, the guarantee is valid and each procedure must be done for free.

But I m interesting if this will help you:
Please, try to disable powerplay in the properties of the graphics card and do not set the CPU at low speed in Toshiba Power Saver mode fixed.

  • Satellite Pro M70-220 - how to start the Advanced Boot Menu

Which key have to press on my Satellite Pro M70 - 220 starting Win XP, in order to enter the "Advanced Start Menu" - in other words, the menu that gives various boot options, such as safe, last good start Congiguration, start Windows Normal Mode, etc. ?

On my old laptop Satellite 5105 - S702, it was the F8 key, but by pressing the F8 key on my M70 Pro does not bring up the 'Start Advanced Menu".

The Advanced Start Menu came on its own a few days previously after an abnormal stop, so it seems that it does not exist on the M70 Pro.

Thanks for any advice anyone has to offer.

The Advanced Boot Menu can be reached by pressing the F8 key.
It s a Windows menu basic and it s any laptop it is.
It should work on all computers.

Maybe you can not activate the Start Menu advanced because the Windows operating system is confused upward.

  • Satellite Pro M70: How to connect to the internet using a second computer

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro M70 with a RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC use this, the laptop was connected to a desktop PC, whereby it is connected to the internet via a modem ADSL (USB) on the desktop. The laptop runs XP Pro; the desktop has XP Home.

My laptop has been a nasty virus. When removing it, he lost the ability to network. I tried "repair network", but he could not find an IP address. In the end, I had to manually set an IP address for the network to work again. You use IPCONFIG release and renew the IP addresses that failed - unable to connect to the DHCP server.

He could now see the Office network and Exchange files across be it, but it could no longer contact internet.

I decided to reinstall the OS on the laptop, but this does not solve the problem. I still have to manually set the IP on the laptop. I can connect two PCs, but does not see the internet from the laptop on the network.

If I connect the laptop directly to the internet via the modem, it works fine. I can even access the internet from the computer on the network when this is the laptop that has the internet connection.

The virus could have damaged the Ethernet controller, or she affected somehow?

    Is it possible to test?

    Have you advice?

    Hello

The virus was detected on the laptop you so maybe your PC has also been affected.
Did you check if the laptop and the PC using the same workgroup?

XP supports a help option. There, you might choose the Internet Connection Sharing Troubleshooter. "

  • Satellite Pro M70: Unable to connect to the WLan with ConfigFree

    Salvation in the Forum.

I have problems with a satellite Pro M70, about gaining control of wireless connections.

When I scan with "The Radar" I have ConfigFree for available wireless accesspoints, I get several points available, but it is not able to connect to one of them. I can read their status and see their marker of WEP encryption.

When I try to connect to one of them, I get a pop-up dialog, that said (translated from Danish) 'suppliers another software is in control of the wireless network card. When you try to configure a connection through the classic way to windows, windows States that "windows is not able to configure this wireless connection - if you have another program to manage wireless connections, you must use it". I guess it refers to ConfigFree...?

Is the unnamed "other provider" associated Windows or perhaps associated McAfee (Security Suite 2007)?

If you are familiar with this problem or something like that I'd be please to know.

Also - where can I enter keys for WEP encryption for my friends in ConfigFree WLAN routers?

    > Trying to make a connection through the classic way to windows, windows States that "windows is not able to configure this wireless connection - if you have another program to manage wireless connections, you must use it". I guess it refers to ConfigFree...?

It should not be a ConfigFree. According to you, an Intel ProSet utility or a Client Atheros wireless network adapter might be controls the Wlan configuration!

Please check if one of the two control the WiFi network tools and turn off!

    > where can I enter keys for WEP encryption for my friends in ConfigFree WLAN routers

You should have three different tabs in the utility Configfree.
The second device settings provides the list of devices, and you should see the wireless network connection.
Choose and use the button network connections.
There you should find some encryption settings!

Also check the profile settings tab and the option called security settings

  • Satellite Pro 4200 recognize RAM only in the B slot

I have recently got a Satellite Pro 4200 and want to increase the memory up to 320 MB.
To start I bought a 128 MB module and have found that with a 64 MB module in a slot and the 128 MB in the other system only recognizes the module into the connector B.

Must the modules in the two slots be the same value for the system to recognize them? i.e. the 128 MB or two 64 MB.
If this is the case its OK but if it's not I don't want to buy another 128 MB module, if the location is unservicable.

    Thank you

    Hello

Wow Sat Pro 42000 is an oldie I didn t think someone using this mobile in the future, I mean it's a great laptop but the performance he is too weak to be present-days.
As far as I know the Satellite Pro 4200 was equipped with Mobile Intel Celeron 500 Mhz or with an Intel Pentium III 450 Mhz / 500 Mhz.

Pentium 450 Mhz CPU equipped units can be improved up to 320 MB. All other units can be upgraded up to 576 MB.

I think that the 64 MB module should not be removed!
You must use 64 MB + 128 MB or 256 MB or 512 MB (only for models with 500 Mhz processor).

    Hope this helps you

  • During BIOS update by Satellite Pro A60 went down and did not start

    Hi all

I have a Satellite Pro A60 and I've updated the bios. To halfway the update, my laptop came down and started Hasna´t since. It only give a couple of beeps (trying to tell me the bios is damaged, I guess) and turns off again.

Tried to start with (~) key pressed (a tip I received from a friend), but without success.

I live in a country where there is no available Toshiba dealer and I rather not ship the laptop for repair.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    This doesn't sound good.
If during the POST, the BIOS detects a problem, it will normally display an error message visual on the monitor explaining what the problem is. However, if a problem is detected before it initializes BIOS video card or a video card is not present or not detected then BIOS will play through the Speaker beeps to let you know there is a problem.
Depending on the type of BIOS you have the BIOS can play beeps in a specific pattern to indicate what the problem is, or emits the signal even a few times indicating the problem.

In your case, it is possible to s you used a bad BIOS or bad BIOS procedure. Both can damage the motherboard.
To avoid such damage and mistakes, Toshiba published FAQ document.
How to upgrade the BIOS on most of the units!

That you should read before making updates to the BIOS!
Unfortunately, I n t think that you can fix yourself. I think you should ask to help ASP.

What I need your support on is the following:

Can someone provide me with. ROM BIOS files for this model?

If this isn't the case, someone has any information of how fix?

If this is not available nor can someone provide me the model of this particular motherboard so I can order a new one?

  • Is satellite Pro M70-235 - possible to upgrade the processor?

    Hello

Is it possible to upgrade of processor in this laptop (Pentium M 750-1866 MHz) Pentium M 780 2266 MHz?

    Thank you..

    Hello

Theoretically, it of possible to exchange the processor on your laptop, but nobody will be able to tell if the laptop works fine with the new processor or not.

You mustn't forget that the BIOS and motherboard is designed for the preinstalled CPU and it s not tested with another processor. Normally a newer or faster CPU produces more heat and I don t know if the Assembly of cooling on your laptop is sufficient for this.

If you still have the warranty of your laptop you will lose because Toshiba doesn't support the CPU upgrade:

  • Satellite Pro M70-220: how to enable the AGP?

    Hi all!
I recently bought a toshiba M70-220, I discovered that the GPA or accelerated graphics port is not available, I don't know if it is preinstalled, so I would ask anyone there for please help me with what I have to do to enable the AGP, I appreciate all the efforts of everyone. Hello

If you have an Intel graphics card, then I recommend to check OpenGL settings in the properties of the graphics card.
In addition, you can try to start the dxdiag and you will find detailed information. There you should find the AGP texture acceleration option.

  • No chance for BIOS update for the SP 42xx series?

My laptop configuration is SP 4270, 320 MB of RAM, PIII 900MHz@700MHz, Windows XP SP2, BIOS version 2.70.
Problems: as you can see the above PIII 900 MHz CPU is not supported. There is no latest BIOS that could solve this problem (the latest is 2001). You know any BIOS custom that would allow me to install the microPGA2 faster CPU, such as 1000 MHz and 900 MHz (running on the 100 MHz system bus)? Or maybe you know how to force my notebook to see correctly?
I don't want responses such as:
    1. speak with your local support office - because they tell me thet it is impossible to have the SP 4270 with CPU faster than the Celeron 500 (which is not true).
2 buy a new laptop - I want everything I can get this one just for the sake of it. I have a new laptop.

I would appreciate a serious proposal how the problem of the maximum number of CPU speed.

    Hello

I guess that you know something about this device.
As far as I know this unit is well advanced (something about 6 years)
In this case you can not as Toshiba develops again and again new BIOS for this old unit.
I put t know where you found the information on the upgrade of CPU, but in my opinion it's not easy to replace the notebook CPU.
There are several reasons not to do this, but a major reason is overheating. I know that it of possible to upgrade desktop PC processors but I don t think that it s same procedure with portable units.

    Best regards
