I need to change my mobile device windows from disk hard mode for activesync mode.__There is no activesync in the forum here.

The screen is broken on my htc touch diamond.
I want to save before you send it away for repair.
I can't back up because I can't use activesync because the last time I used the unit is in hard disk mode and now it is stuck in disk mode.
How can I change the device remotely from the drive using the activesync mode?

AFAIK, you can boot from a second internal drive, but your BIOS must be able to select the second drive, and I'm not sure that the average laptop BIOS has the ability.

You better boot and install from a flash drive. In addition, it is a good idea to remove or unplug the secondary internal drives during the installation of an operating system...

I typed in an invalid address for my Windows mail e-mail program & I need to change what I can send emails directly on Web sites. Where to find the info on the host & server my pc uses? I have no modem & just use wifi places.

You need an ISP (Internet Service Provider) to configure Windows Mail to send emails to craigslist, etc.

Or if you want to use Yahoo and Windows Mail, you must PAY version of Yahoo Mail PLUS for POP3.

  • Download Mobile Device Center from Microsoft home page

I have a Vista operating system on my PC.  I also have a Sat Nav that accepts cards from my maps Ordnance Survey electronic based on my PC. I used to have no hassle transfer cards selected from my old PC to my Sat Nav. The former used PC operating system XP and Active Sync. Now using Vista I seem to need to download Mobile Device Center software/drivers (which seem to have replaced Active Sync) of Microsoft, but through the process of validation, I always end up on a page of Microsoft home empty and fail to progress the download of the Mobile Device Center. There is no licensing problem or whatever it is and I am at a loss on how to transfer the maps to my Nav. Sat all the suggestions out there?

  • do I need all these updates of 2009 windows stuck my hard drive?

As I said above, should I all these updates Windows since 2009 bogged down my hard drive too much room on this subject.  Only, I have a GBHDD 120 and can't get answers as to how to remove unwanted files, etc.  Someone please help.

    Yes, you do.

Updates will have only the space they need and remove only you will leave vulnerable and you will be prompted to update again anyway.

However, you can use disk cleanup-

    Hi Neil,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Communities. This problem can occur if the mouse pointer is not properly placed on the HARD drive. Provide the following information:

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 2: Follow the steps in the article.

Optimize Windows 7 for better performance

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

  • How do I change my USB Flash drive from a hard drive to a removable disk

Been having a lot of problems with my laptop lately, then I'm just trying to move some basic data (music, photos, etc.) my laptop on my desk. When I initially plugged my Flash drive (brand new, no problems with it, was sold yesterday. 16 GB) on my laptop, it installed the drivers successfully but no it has not assigned a drive letter. After going to management records and trying to assign it a letter, he would enter an error code. So I grew up diskpart.exe and assigned a drive letter that elsewhere, BUT, for some reason, he now thinks it's a partitioned hard disk drive and I can't eject it (and therefore, it will not save anything when I unplug it).

When I plug the drive in my desktop, everything works perfectly fine. He acknowledges as a drive Removable and all. I even formatted it on my desktop (with 'quick format' unchecked) yet when I plug in my laptop, it has the same files on it as before when it was plugged into my laptop.

To plug into my office and loading upward from diskpart, after typing the volume from the list and pressing on enter, I have noticed that my office it lists as "Removable" type (when I do this on my laptop, it lists as "Score" type) so how can I change to a removable drive?
EDIT: Looking in the "Disk management" folder in "Computer management", it shows my flash drive in the framework of the "disk 0" and my C drive and it lists as "Primary Partitions.
Below, under "Disk 1" it shows my removable disk, but when I right click it, and then click on "Change Drive Letter and paths...". «it comes up with an error stating ' operation failed to complete because the disk management console view is not updated.» Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists, close the disk management console, then restart disk management or restart the computer. »
(I updated using the update task, I close the restart disk management console, as well as restarted my computer.) Nothing works)
The most frustrating thing is that I have a small 1 GB flash drive and it works completely and perfectly fine on my laptop.

The answer this question (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/error-disk-management-console-view-is-not-up-to/e96ccbf9-0f6e-40ce-999f-4da4e05d7704) actually solved my problem. Thanks for your time though!
