  Good then the problem was with my wireless card, or should I say it was my fault. When I put on my new graphics card I accidentally pulled out the antennawire of my wireless network card. And now I feel very stupid but yes problem solved and all is good and working.

  My wifi on this phone card is questionable for some time, often drop out, apparently uninstall drivers (not appearing is not in Device Manager).

  I've done all the fixes software I know (restoration of the system, clean install of windows, check each piece of software, update the bios etc) nothing works!

  I think that the card may be faulty. Where can I find buy? Toshiba sell pieces, follow these steps (looked but could not find). happy to get one on ebay etc, but how do I know the number of part/details. They are computer specific or would any satellite map?

  Your friend won't. 2.1 is not compatible with certain versions but 3.0 is fully backward compatible. It should work correctly.

  When I go to control panel > DeviceManager > network adapters, the present one is a 'Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

  If I try to download/install the driver for the wireless card I get the error message "your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. Update has been canceled. (9996).

  I'm not that familiar with that sort of thing, but all this does not seem to suggest that I don't have a WiFi card installed?

  If you do not see the model of network card wireless list in addition to the wired Realtek card, it could be one of 3 things...

  1. you are correct and either HP forgot to install the card, or the card is incoreect.

  2. If you see a device listed as a network controller listed in the other devices category in Device Manager, then the wireless card is present and the drivers must be installed.

  3. the wireless card is installed but is defective as DOA, or PCIe x 1 adapter that holds the card to the motherboard is loose and has a bad connection.

  Here is the link to the service manual for your PC.  I have not your model, so I have no idea where to find other than to tell you that the wireless card will have a wire antenna plugged on it and it will be mounted in one of the small slots PCIe x 1 on the motherboard via a larger map.

  You'll have to stuck with it. Unlike desktop computers, it is impossible to very hard replacing the cards video on laptops. You can replace only on a handful of models.
