  You can only use the hidden partition option if your HP was origonally provided with a hidden restore partition. HP support for your specific model site should have the instructions.

  I suggest that you contact Dell. Software OEMS is pre-activated and assistance is the responsibility of the OEM - in your Dell case. Explain to them what happened and they should be able to help.

  By 'Validate', I assume you mean 'enable '. Have you actually tried activating the software to see if it will turn on? If you have tried to enable you get a message saying that the "product key is already in use"?
