Hello, I made a comment on this post , but got no response, and I thought of making a whole new discussion was needed to really find someone who knows how to solve this problem. I suffer from the same problem as the person who posted that - whenever I try to search for Windows updates, it fails and gives Error 80070002. I tried all the simple solutions that are posted on the sites Web de Microsoft, and none of them have worked so far. As I mentioned on the linked post, while manually resetting Windows Update components, some DLLs gave me errors when I tried to register them in the registry.

An internet search indicates that this file is described as "Direct3D 10 to Direct3D9 translation Runtime". I was wondering if it was a directx problem, so tried to reinstall that. It did not work.
It seems to me that I need a replacement for this particular dll file that actually works, but I'm incredibly careful to find a replacement and the "tips" on how to mess with some arbitrary site system files.
Could someone offer any advice on how I should proceed with this? What danger is there to find me a replacement dll file, change the privileges of the corrupted file, so I can replace it and make the switch? It would be the right thing to do? My analysis of the situation is correct? Could it be solved with a relocation of a program?

Been upgraded Windows 7 very well since the purchase, but in the last few days I've met the above error code. I ran through most of the potential solutions (check the registry keys, checking the services running, disable AV software, rename the folder to download etc.), but nothing seems to help. Running "Run the Fix It" in aggressive mode seems to have done the trick. One thing to note - I also disabled Acronis True Image Backup Nonstop, who had run up to this point. If this makes a difference or not, I'm not sure. Whatever it is, the updates seem to work fine now.
