  I've been a Firefox user for many years and I still use it as my main browser. A problem that has bothered me for years lies in the fact that when Firefox is open and I change my audio output device by default, Firefox does not respect this change and continues to play audio through the device that was used to originally.   This preference can be changed by typing about: config

  (1) type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter (click the button promising to be careful and please be careful!)

You can remove WLMail whenever you want. It is a part of the programs in the window Live Essentials Control Panel uninstall section.

  You must first login to your account to OTN. Make sure that you have configured your email in your control panel (click the link to the upper left corner, if you are not sure).

  You can configure your alerts in multiple ways. See the control panel for ideas. Personally, I don't like the alerts. When I turned them, my email account was flooded.

  Have you ever noticed the spy glass and Watch This Post just above the list of positions? When mailed, here and now, you will receive all the emails you've always wanted to see.

  I don't think anyone can tell you that. Although you can run W10 as a virtual machine which is not possible on your iMac, the performance would be terrible. Would need you at least 4 GB of RAM and 6 GB would be better. But try to run Windows 10 and Revit on an older iMac of 9 year running El Capitan would be very problematic.
