  I guess you have a pre existing account using the POP Protocol, that not only downloads the contents of the Inbox.

• I can't update anything and I am at a loss about how to solve this problem.

I recently lost the ability to play music from itunes, but the player still works, so I know this isn't a sound problem. Also, I tried disabling all firewall that I know I have, and that doesn't always.
