I stopped to receive windows updates.

When I try to get updates it looking for hours and then comes up with the error 80080005. I have 32 bit Service Pack 2 installed.
My last valid update was in February 2011.

(1) what is the suite of security/antivirus installed; is it's subscription and current definitions; has whatever it is detected when the system changed was scanned with it?

(2) If a security suite is not installed, there are download managers or 3rd party firewall installed?

0 x 80080005 indicates that there is a problem of access denied with the security of the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) descriptors.
Strongly suggest that you have first analyzed by the Microsoft Safety Scannersystem.

If no malware is detected by this, then suggest you download and save the Fixit on this page.

How to reset the Windows Update components

Once the download is complete, close all open programs and web browsers.

With the system connected to the internet, run MicrosoftFixit50202.msi and choose it's aggressive mode.
Aggressive mode will attempt to reset the BITS security descriptors.
Restart when it has finished running and see if the system can update now.

If the malware has been detected by the Scanner, then please post if it has been removed and the specific name of the malware.
Do not run the Fixit as the malware does not reset the Windows Update components.

I installed another version of AOL. Since that time I no longer receive windows updates.  I tried to install the autumatic updates and the "fix it", but my computer does not contain any version of the Runtime.

    Hello

Put the computer to boot and then look for the Windows updates and see if it helps.

To help resolve other issues, and error messages you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: Follow step 4 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    Hope this information helps.
  • laptop keyboard stopped working after Windows update.

have a toshiba satellite A505 laptop and the keyboard stops working after Windows Update reboots. We reinstalled Windows 7, which fixed the problem until the updates have come. Now the keyboard is unresponsive. Sounds like a software problem, no material. Also checked the keyboard drivers that are up to date.

As a first response, go to the control panel, device, keyboard, keyboard Manager and right click, uninstall it and let it rediscover Windows and then reinstall it.

It suits it much of the time.

It depends on the timeline.  If the scanning and cleaning of malware that you listed was made after February 12, then you can still be infected due to the restoration of the system.
Therefore, I would say that you are running an analysis of potential threats, before installing the updates.   Also, take a look at this sticky post:

  • Outlook 2010 has stopped working after Windows updates

November 11, 2015, my desktop, operating system Windows 7, installed about 28 updates to Windows. When I then put running the computer and open Microsoft Outlook 2010, Outlook closed almost immediately and this message appeared: "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. "(I don't check other office software).

After the problem with Outlook 2010, I rebooted the computer several times and each time has experienced the same problem with Outlook 2010.

I used system restore to restore the system to before the updates of Windows, which included a critical update. Outlook, then worked correctly. I changed the settings for Windows Update to "Never check updates" so that Outlook is not yet damaged.

Was it something wrong with the Windows updates?

The problem was solved when Microsoft released a revised version of the KB3097877 update. Maxwell Joseph, moderator of the Forum Microsoft, announced this in the post, he created at 23:22:03 on November 12, 2015, on the thread titled "update KB3097877 crash.

  • Broadcom Wireless stopped working after Windows updates

    Hello, everyone!

I have a Pavilion dv6000 with wireless network. Everything was OK, but last Monday the blue wireless light was suddenly always amber and me did not have wireless access. These are the facts about my problem:

    * I reset my laptop to factory - wireless configuration works very well

    * Windows Update all installed, but one, updates - wireless works fine

    * I installed the new Windows Live Messenger - WIRELESS STOPED working

    * I uninstalled Windows Live Messenger - wireless works fine

    * Windows Update installed .NET Framework 3.5 (it was the update of Windows I jumped at step 2)-without WIRE EFFONDRES WORKING

And now, my problem is that even if I try to "roll back" to a "restore point" before installing .NET, I get an error and I don't seem to be able to "Uninstall".NET 3.5. On the other hand, the pilot "Broadcom Wireless 802.11 g" has disappeared from the Device Manager and I don't seem to be able to reinstall it, or not reinstalling patches 'HP Wireless Manager' the problem.

    Can you help me, please?

    Thanks in advance,

Work on laptop of my boss's son is having the same issue... I got to work by going into safe mode device manager and delete all references to pci bridge and restart... xp detects the wireless card as well as all pci bridge components and everything is golden... update XP sp3 now and go see if only the pipes still wireless card... will put in day this post when finished... im on xp, but I'm sure it would work for vista too many... questions you can email [email protected]

    * Update *.

Installation of XP Service Pack 3 has made clear the wireless card again... is returned in Manager mode and the security apparatus and remove all references to the PCI subsystem devices except Bus PCI and ISA standard PCI bridge and rebooted and bam wireless card is back... it is quite boring... my recommendation would be to turn the builtin wireless power off and go buy a wireless usb card and do with it...

  • game stops responding after Windows update

    Windows update affects the game

    Hello
yesterday, I was prompted to install an update prior to the stoppage of my laptop.
Today, when I turned on my laptop to play games, I noticed that the sound is not synchronized with the video.
I also get stutters and random videos from lag smooth transitioning States.
any ideas on which updates caused this?

    * In addition, I downloaded a demo of the game and it was working fine before, I was prompted to install an update. to my great disappointment, the game did not have this morning. I checked if it was blocked in the firewall, and no, it is not blocked. I run as admin. nothing works. in the end, I uninstalled the demo.

    Thanks in advance

    Once again...

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/see-which-Windows-updates-are-installed

It shows you the story - give all the updates that have been installed * before * the problem started.  He must always list if I remember correctly.

It could be an update - but given that it could be one of many, we need a list.  ;-)

Your other option... Install the updates individually...  Reboot between each of them and try your games.  If everything works, repeat until you have all updates installed without any problems or you have discovered the update that caused the problem and anyway - report back here with this information.  ;-)

  • I receive windows update error code 646 on two important updates for windows 7.

I tried to update manually, nothing helps. My windows update icon remains with the same updates, and he tells me that updates could not be installed. Help, please. the updates in question are 981433 KB and KB 981715. I don't know what to do. Need help. Thanks for any help.

As manually downloading and trying to install updates did not get the expected result, so I suggest that you consider now reinstall/repair Office 2007.

You will need your product key and the original installation media to repair/reinstall Office 2007.

On the other hand if you just did a manual scan for updates and didn't actually download them yourself from the Download Center and try to install it even, you will find them here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/results.aspx?FREETEXT=KB981715&displaylang=en&sType=s_basic

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/results.aspx?FREETEXT=KB981433&displaylang=en&sType=s_basic

By downloading and installing manually, we actually manually download the updates to a location on your hard drive where you can find and then manually install the updates.

  • Task Scheduler stopped working after Windows updates

This just happened to one the many updates just installed.  Microsoft does not identify the Console as being updated but I did a restore + the task manager has been fine.

Installed November put up-to-date and Scheduler of tasks is still a Virgin is in one of the updates. hidden of course.  If someone found the number of update, please send along!

    Hello

Unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

"How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/72491-Windows-Update.html

Here's how to chanage update settings, if you think it is necessary to:

"Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.
