  I have an iPad, 4th generation, 64 GB with WiFi and cell phone, it is only 3 years and suddenly I can't turn on the iPad.   I tried using automatic channels as well as various specific channels on our Airport Extreme. I also have 5 GHz and 2.4 normally. I, of course, restarted a gazillion times (this has happened for about a year). I still have to find a solution.

  It is possible that you have a faulty AirPort base station, the other thing to ask is: do you live in a place with a lot of other Wi-Fis operating? As an apartment or condo complex... or a dorm student perhaps? Connectivity spotty Wi - Fi is usually associated with some sort of interference of a Wi-Fi connection. Other Wi-Fis in the close vicinity would be a major culprit.

Win 7 reported no problem with the card and the driver seems to be ok... Others have told me to try the FN + F2 to re - turn on the wireless switch, but this combo doesn't change anything... In fact, on my laptop, this combo determines if the AC adapter charges the battery or not so that hip.

  I started my dualboot XP real fast... ON this OS, the wireless is controlled by the application of dell and the software dell says that the wireless radio switch is off? Everything is enabled in the BIOS under the wireless section... This must be a different key combination to toggle the my wireless phone?

  Only, I've solved my problem... I can't believe that I didn't know where this switch was and what it does... As soon as I posted, I found a site that has good information for this laptop... The FN key on the E5500 has nothing to with the wireless implementation power. I literally burned through 50 sites with everyone saying: 'just hold down the FN key and press F2 '... I don't know why everyone has the wrong info on this laptop.

  There is a toggle switch on the front of the laptop (just below the plane of the keyboard)... It's where your left wrist sits when you type on the keyboard... It has a symbol to switch wireless access point... It looks like this:

  In this diagram, the number 7 is exactly where the toggle switch must turn wireless radio switch. This message was perhaps a bit exaggerated, but I was about to tear my hair out trying to understand why my darn phone was not working. I hope this help anyone who reads.
