I tried to back up my hard disk but to halfway through it says I/O device error code: 0x8007045D.  I disabled mcafee to see if it was interfering, but that did not work.   I have an acer aspire laptop with windows 7.  I was not able to save anything.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

This can happen if your virus scanner (or another application of heavy disk activity) access to training. You can try running chkdsk in safe mode:

If you run chkdsk in safe mode and you still have problems of backup, try to perform a clean boot to disable all third-party applications and test support upward:
