  It seems that you have installed Acrobat XI pro as an upgrade and an upgrade you will need a serial number for a product older Acrobat X, etc. 9:

  Also, I checked with your Adobe ID on the forums and I can only locate XI of Acrobat pro upgrade recorded, please check if you have registered an earlier version of Acrobat on some another email to get this serial number.

So downloaded installation for first Pro CS6 "old downloads" page - when I put in the serial number, it says ' serial number provided is valid, but calling it a product was not found on this computer. "there is a"select a product"drop down and the only thing on the list is Pro Prem CS5.5 - when I put in the liscence here It says invalid. Just to try, I downloaded the installation for CS5.5 and who does not accept the license at all. What can I do to get the CS6 running on my new computer?

  A bit of history which could be related, I remember that I originally bought first Pro CS5 from someone on ebay, not knowing that it was a Mac version, which would not work on my PC - so I contacted Adobe and upgraded to CS6 for Windows at a lower cost. I see in MY PRODUCTS there is a serial number for the two "Adobe Premier Pro" version 5 for MAC and Version 6 for Windows.

  It shows the message you have purchased an upgrade license, and it asks you to select the older version that you upgraded and provide older version serial number as proof that you are eligible to use the upgrade.

  As indicated, with an upgrade (apparently what you bought) you will get a request for both the new S/N in the old S/N - assuming that a qualifying product is not installed).

  Your license allows you to have two facilities activated while there should be nothing preventing you to install and activate on the new computer.  Before do you however, since you have the time before the arrival of the new machine you must contact Adobe Support by chat and ask them to reset your activations.  Who will free the inaccessible installation from your old computer and leave you always with an activation to use if/when you need.

  Perhaps you feel the meaning of the qualification of product?

  You have downloaded and installed Acrobat XI and entered your serial number upgrade.

  This means that you upgraded to Acrobat XI to a version earlier than for example Acrobat X or Acrobat 9. This version is known as the "release candidate". It qualifies you for a discounted upgrade price if you are eligible to use the upgrade serial number.

  Thus, in the drop-down list, select version X or 9 and enter the serial number of X Acrobat or Acrobat 9.

  Then your Acrobat XI installation is complete and the software can be activated.

  If you have purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro DC as an upgrade, then a serial number of the previous version which you have like Acrobat X or XI. If in the case where you have not bought one of these in the past, then you must buy Acrobat Pro DC as full version (US $449.00).
