  Gmail doesn't have to be open in a tab. But Firefox must be run.
  Add on has enough parameters to customize it to your liking.

• Windows 8 gel when you use Chrome or Firefox

  Since a few weeks I was faced with a very annoying problem. I use Windows 8 Pro 32 bit on a laptop Asus-F5SL-AP141. Every time when I was using Chrome the whole OS froze at random for like 1-2 minutes, if I was able to move the mouse pointer, but everywhere where I clicked nothing happened. This gel is usually 5 - 10 times a day. Also sometimes when she is back from frozen state it dropped free wifi too. Checked event viewer and found that each freeze he creates a log with The event 1014 ID and the following text: "the name resolution for the s.youtube.com name exceeded after none of the configured DNS servers responded". Finally, the s.youtube.com part is the only thing that changes every time the newspaper.

  Tried to do some research about it on the forums and tried many steps without success. So I decided to reinstall the whole system and tested for a few days with the following results:

  1. Installation tried Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1 -online everything was going well, Chrome used for 3-4 days while installed other programs as well.
  2. And then installed Windows 8 Pro 32-bit still => I don't HAVE NOT install anything, not even the updates from Windows Update
     • With IE10 has not experienced the problem of gel for 1 week
     • Then tried to install Chrome (still nothing got installed) and yepp, the issue was again immediately after 30 minutes of use, I had 2 freezes and the event 1014 in Event Viewer
     • Tried to disable everything in Chrome (including hardware acceleration, the flash plugin)
     • The operating system has been also frozen when I didn't even Chrome run... so the only solution is to uninstall Chrome
     • Also tried with another internet network-online the same question
     • Tried to install different drivers WLAN, but it did not help. In any case, I was using the same old driver before with no problems, so I guess that's not the one causing the headaches...
     • Uninstalled Chrome and tried Firefox => unfortunately it produces also exactly the same problem, except when it is closed the gel does not occur. Also tried to turn the flash off.

  So, my conclusion is that Chrome and Firefox has another thing that IE does not work... but I can't find what it can be... Also I don't understand not why this happens not on Windows 7? I want to use Firefox or Chrome outside of IE, so I really need someone's help!

  I managed to solve the problem. I've updated the BIOS a couple of weeks, but I have not thought of that as a source of the question so far... BUT it has been. I just downgraded to the previous version (via BIOS menu) that I had before and that's the freezing issue disappeared! :)
