Hi nyyankee53
You can check if the antivirus or other security software raises questions. I would say to you temporarily disable the security software installed and check if the problem is resolved. If you disable any security software for troubleshooting temporarily, so don't forget to activate after troubleshooting is completed that your computer will be at risk.
See the help link - below

Hello daisymendoza,
You asked several questions.
First, what is your operating system? It is 32-bit or 64-bit? What service pack you have installed? You run the Windows Installer Cleanup utility? Did you remove Skype?
Your notes, I think that you have run SFC/scannow and found some corrupted files. You will need the Vista DVD to replace the files.
Use the following article to repair the corrupted files.
Article 929833 - how to use the System File Checker tool to resolve missing or damaged on Windows Vista or Windows system filesFor Windows Installer errors:
The problem may be that the execution of Script VB is not registered on your Vista PC. The possible solution is to locate and to register VBScript.dll.
To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
Regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\vbscript.dllNow check again and see if you can install the Skype toolbar.
Please answer back with an update.
Sincerely,
Marilyn

I worked on it for about 3 days now. It's driving me crazy. I tried everything I could find to try to solve this problem.
When installing iTunes it stops and a box will then appear to me said "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support provider or package. "No error message or anything, that's all I get. When I hit the only button I can hit the OK button, it continues to install QuickTime. Sometimes, it will install the iTunes file and the shortcut, but the shortcut does never work and the iTunes file is always empty. I have download the installer directly from Apple.com and save to the desktop, a new copy after each test (just in case).
Here is a list of what I've tried:
- Apple Support page: difficulties to install iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
- Apple Support page: removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other components of software for Windows Vista or Windows 7
- Apple Support page: iTunes and QuickTime for Windows cannot be installed without Visual Basic Script (VBScript)
- 1,5 hour long session with Apple Support Tech, where we repeat the two steps albums created a new admin account and then tried to install on this account of troubleshooting. After it is has not told me while they could not fix the problem it was a questions and contact Microsoft Windows.
- Microsoft Answers page: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/thread/2aa2c368-2fa2-4fc8-bb2a-5d74ce34a856 (could not complete the download of the file has been removed)

Yes, I am the administrator of the computer with admin abilities, yes I checked run this program as an administrator. I also made sure to stop all this as possible could interfere with the instillation, including my anti virus and what not even before I tried a clean boot.
Is there anything else I can try?
~ Thank you

I already did:

- Guests of controls too and still no change
This has been going on for about a week or two now, and I really need help.Any ideas or help would be appreciated.Thank youHi once again, fortunately today I bring better news! As a result of a serious lack of assistance from Apple themselves, have no idea of "The Tech Guys" in the world PC and extremely unnecessary hours at Microsoft, I've sorted it me. In other words, the main problem with mine was the Apple Software Updater. Even with "Revo" I was unable to remove it. I decided to download "Windows Installer Clean Up" from there where I could find (it was also free!). I used it and immediately found, I could choose the Apple Software Updater and remove it with very little hassle in all. I proceed to download the new iTunes, and I'm a very happy Bunny! Thanks for nothing, Microsoft and Apple! Hope this helps - Dan
