I use Windows Mail (Vista OS) on my home PC. Can I access my account from another PC?  If so, how do

You will need to create an account on the other PC the same as the one you have now.

On both machines:

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: leave a copy of messages on the server.

On a single computer only, make sure to delete messages after X days to satisfy your allocated space that you get from your server.

If it doesn't is that for a brief period of trip example, you might be better parcel just connect to the Webmail of your server site.

There is no easy way in other than manually.  While you can export the data from your side, they would not be able to import into Hotmail/people unless it's in the "CSV" format and as far as I KNOW mail can do that.  It's 10 years that I used last mail so I could be wrong.

First, make sure that is not a mistake on the mail server.  See if you can connect via webmail and account works fine.

Otherwise, see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 its likely that you have tight with antivirus software.  After checking, remove your email account, compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and then add your account mail back again once and ensure that any analysis of the electronic mail is disabled by antivirus software, and on the other.

  • Windows Mail (Vista) - duplicate emails - but the settings look right

    Hello

I use Windows Mail Vista and more than 20 accounts are set up for a variety of areas. One of my areas has 3 addresses - everything I have Setup email in Windows Mail. All these 3 E-mail addresses share the same incoming and outgoing mail server and are administered using cPanel on a shared hosting environment. For the first two email addresses that I have set up for this area very well work (with "include this account when checking mail or synchronizing" ticked), however, when the third e-mail address has the checkbox "Include this account when checking mail or synchronizing" checked as I get a copy of my email inbox. If I uncheck the box I receive a copy (which is what I would like to receive). However, I'm afraid, to leave it off because it is a very important address and I fear he will cease to broadcast my posts if the checkbox is not clicked. When checking e-mail via cPanel account I shows that only one (not two) of the emails I get. I deleted the account in Windows Mail, then rebuilt - still the same problem occurs. I do not understand why it is product - any ideas as to why it occurs?
    Thank you!

We see this behavior if you have two copies of the same account.  Check tools | Accounts and make sure that you have not listed twice inadvertently.  It could also be due to a problem in the database (where the tallies are stored), so try to compact and repair the database and see if that fixes the problem (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).

All of a sudden, I started getting double e-mails. I am running Vista and using windows mail. Does anyone have a solution?

Usually, it is because the two copies of the account are set up.  Go to tools | Accounts | Mail and see if there is more than one copy of the account.  If not, then try to compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/) and analysis of e-mail what to do is not enable in your anti-virus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  If this does not resolve things, try to delete your account, close and reopen WinMail and then add the account back again.

  • Should have 8 000 emails in my Inbox Windows Mail (Vista) considerably slow down my computer with 3 GB of RAM and trigger alerts from Norton of "the High CPU use by Windows Mail.

In addition, about half of my 8,000 e-mails are unread. Thus, the fact of having 4 000 unread emails in my mailbox Windows (Vista) slow down my computer more than if they were 4 000 read emails?

If so, is there a quick way to mark all read emails as read in Windows Mail (Vista)?      .. .in windows Live Mail (Vista)?

Even if these unread e-mails degrade the speed, is there a quick way to mark all read emails as read in Windows Mail (Vista)?... .in windows Live Mail (Vista)?

I also regularly get an alert Norton of 'Use of disc high by Microsoft Windows Search Indexer.'  Gravity is the next, and what can I do to fix the problem?

Finally, I have a lot of folders: would have 2,000 emails in the Inbox Windows (Vista) slow down a computer more than if 2 000 mails were one or more files?   This change of response if the e-mail is unread vs bed?

#2: the Inbox is accessible by your computer whenever he asks new messages. The fact of having 1,000 messages in the Inbox slow it down? I have no personal experience, since I never have more than a dozen or messages in my Inbox, but it is so likely. If you have lots of free space on the hard disk, the messages would be better in another folder (s). Even if you create more WinMail's local folders and move messages to them.

I would also say this. Try to compact and repair the database.

If you reinstalled Vista without saving your messages, they are gone, unless you have kept a copy of messages on the server. If it is a POP3 account, you must have done this choice. If it is an IMAP account, messages must be on the server.

I want to set up a Contact Group (Mailing list) in Windows mail Vista. I have followed the instructions in the help, but have not found 'new Contact Group' in the toolbar. If anyone can help?

    Hi Suzanne,.

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community!

You have reached the right forum. Let us work as a team and try to solve this problem.

If I understand correctly, you want to create a group list in Windows Mail.

Let us try the following steps:

    Step 1: SFC scanner.

System File Checker (SFC) scan will replace the missing or corrupted system files on your computer.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7 system files:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Step 2: Now, follow the items listed below and see if you are able to find the new Contact Group.

    Manage your contacts:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/managing-your-contacts

Create groups of contacts (mailing lists):

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-contact-groups-mailing-lists

Hope the helps of information. Don't answer if you need assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • E-mail is endangered from Inbox in windows mail (Vista)

I'm using windows mail in Vista 64 - bit OS. This problem just started tonight. I have looked at several online forums and that you can't find a useful answer. I looked in SIGHT, and notes that "show all messages" is checked. What else can I try?

What type of account is it? POP3? IMAP?

You cannot reinstall WinMail because is part of Vista, but you can do it and this is my first suggestion.

Try to compact and repair the database.

If you haven't been back up your messages, you can do that first.
